Our membership continues

to grow. Driven by the

vibrant economy and friendly environment in

Texas. We see folks flocking to our state from all

over the country. Our members also renew at a

fantastic pace due to the variety of events we have,

the focus on these great cars and open

communication we have with our membership

through our weekly email alerts, our website and

this newsletter.

Please join our now just over 1,000 North Texas

Members at an upcoming event to take advantage

of the great local benefits of your membership. We

have coming up Monthly Membership Meetings,

Christmas Party, Tech Sessions, plus many more

fun events planned.

The North Texas Section of the Mercedes-Benz Club of America (MBCA) is

dedicated to enhancing the ownership experience of the finest automobiles in

the world. We engage in a variety of activities throughout the year that

hopefully appeal to a broad section of our membership.

Currently our membership totals over 1000 members who are committed to

furthering their experience and enjoyment of their cars. Whether you‟re a gear

head, performance driver, rally enthusiast, cultural maven or social mingler,

the MBCA North Texas Section had an upcoming event for you. Check out the

Are you ready for Father‟s Day? No? We at the

MB Club of North Texas are! And we would like

you to join us in celebrating yourself, and/or your

Dad on June 18 (so he can sleep late on Sunday;

it‟s his day, after all!)

So, forget the tie, or the golf club, and sign up for

a nice drive to a cool, Lewisville, TX landmark!

We have reserved limited spaces for a tour of a

place we are sure you‟re going to like - The

Witherspoon Distillery! Come see how they make

their own Rum, Bourbon and Single Malt Scotch,

and get the opportunity to taste a true spirit of

Texas!

We are planning to get together at the parking lot

next to La Madeleine at the Vista Ridge Mall,

2417 Stemmons Fwy #100, Lewisville, TX 75067

at 12:00 and depart, as a group, to the distillery

at 12:30 for the tour at 1:00pm. The tour lasts

about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

A note from the distillery:

All tour guests must be 21 years of age or older.

Valid, government issued ID required for all

guests. No pets allowed. Service animals allowed

in all areas of distillery. Due to the flammability of

products within the production facility, no

smoking allowed on distillery property.

The event will be $12 per person.

in good standing. Several of our current officers will term limit out

The next edition of the ever popular DIY Tech Session is

confirmed. Louden Motorcars has offered to host us for this

session. I encourage everyone to be on their best behavior and

remember that we are guests and Louden is generous enough to

open their doors to us for the 26th year in a row!

You will have the opportunity to put your car on a lift and do some of the jobs that are space limited

in your garage. We encourage you to attempt work that can be completed in the allotted time.

There is limited lift space to everyone will stage in the order they

registered via the PayPal link below. We will do our best to

accommodate everyone during the morning.

Mercedes-Benz Club of America will conduct a National Election this year to select four Directors

at Large and six Regional Directors. The Directors at Large whose terms expire in 2016 are: Cliff

Reyle, William Hopper, Josie Lesler and Frank Cozza. Regional Directors in the six even-

numbered Regions will also be elected this year. Affected regions include: Mid-Atlantic Region (2) ,

South Central Region (4) , Southwest Region (6) , Great Lakes Region (8) , Southeast Region (10)

and the Eastern Region (12).

Active members interested in running for office are encouraged to go online for information and

petition forms: 1) Go to www.mbca.org; 2) click the „Login‟ button at the top right corner of the home

page and follow the log-in instructions; 3) click on the navigation tab titled “Community” then click

on the drop down titled “MBCA Resources.” The printable petition forms are under the “Election”

sec-tion. Completed nomination petitions are due at the NBO by May 16, 2016.

If you need assistance, please call the NBO at 800.637.2360, 8am-4:30pm MT (M-T) 8am-4pm MT

(F). The deadline for submitting valid petitions is close of business Monday, May 16, 2016.

This year will be the first year for on-line voting. Please update your email address with the club! The

new online voting will be streamlined and save the club funds if we do not need to send out a paper

ballot. Please call or email us with your new or corrected email address.

Mercedes-Benz USA Reports May Sales of 32,567 Units Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported May sales of 29,299 vehicles, down 1.0% for the

month. Mercedes-Benz Vans reported 2,848 units, and smart reported 420 units for the month,

bringing MBUSA grand total to 32,567 vehicles for the month and 149,167 sold year-to-date.

“Sales continue at a steady pace in the second quarter,” said Dietmar Exler, president and CEO of

MBUSA. “Excitement is building as we look toward the coming months with the launch of three new

dream cars, including the S-Class Cabriolet, SL and SLC Roadsters and the all-new E-Class

Sedan.”

Mercedes-Benz volume leaders in May included the C-Class, GLC and GLE model lines. The C-

Class took the lead at 6,954, followed by the GLC at 4,183. The GLE rounded out the top three with

4,003 units sold.

Mercedes-AMG high-performance models sold 1,616 units in May, up 34.6% from last year (1,201).

Separately, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models recorded sales of 11,327. On a

year-to-date basis, MBCPO sold 50,626 vehicles, an increase of 1.0%.
