In 2006, Tom Killian developed a JTCA Art
Committee to acquire an art creation for Jun-
gle Terrace. The City’s Art Director facilitat-
ed at two JTCA meetings. We did a “Call for
Artists” locally, regionally, and nationally.
The Committee and Membership continued to
refine the applications, ultimately choosing
“ENTWINED” by local sculptor Robbie
Robins.
The location was to be on 22nd Ave. North by
Azalea Middle School. In 2007, our Art Grant
Application with the City was NOT awarded.
In 2009, led by Dr. Ed, JTCA applied again. Due to
politics, it was not awarded a 2nd time, even with
Herb Polson’s help keeping the grant amounts at
$25,000 after total dollars were cut by 60%.
By 2011, sidewalks around Jungle Lake were com-
plete and a new location for “ENTWINED” was envi-
sioned by the lake, dog park, and confluence of 3 side-
walks. Thanks to the patience of Sculptor Robbie
Robins and his generous $10,500 in-kind donation,
and the persistence of JTCA, the grant was awarded,
then approved by City Council. Then by the Art
Committee, plus the Gifts to City Committee.
What began in 2006, and re-re-began in August of
2011 is now complete in March of 2013 – the Crown-
ing Jewel in the “Crown Jewel” of city parks. Thank
you Robbie Robins, thank you City of St. Pete, and
Thank You to all JTCA Volunteers who participated
and persevered in creating this wonderful addition to
WFP and Jungle Terrace.

Bob Bielicki, Concrete Contractor, constructed
the base for ENTWINED. Volunteers helped
level the surrounding area and lay sod, then apply
sand for the final leveling. Park Staff trimmed
the big oak tree and moved the sprinkler.
A worthy endeavor and creation of art. City and
Jungle Terrace dollars, plus Volunteer Time
funded this sculpture in excess of $50,000 value.

Meeting Minutes 1/21/2013
By: Sharon and Pete Brown
The meeting was held at the Walter Fuller Recrea-tion Center and was called to order and began with the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Dr. Ed Carlson.
Officer John Phifer reported on an auto theft and burglary at the mall, three residential burglaries and two robberies. He reminded residents to not leave keys in cars and continue to be aware of their surroundings.
Elections of the 2013 officers was held, with Dr. Carlson remaining JTCA President, John Sweeny, VP, Treasurer, Jill Silverstein, Sharon and Pete Brown, joint Secretaries, Bob Miller, Newsletter and Linda Mouriski, Tech/Data. JTCA Board of Directors Susan Buckley, Eileen Dardis, Roland Martens, Yaro Markewycz and Richard Mere-dith.
Mac Tennant, from Access Reverse Mortgages, was the evening’s speaker. He explained several ways that reverse mortgages could benefit people who are at least 62 years of age or older. Though reverse mortgages have, at times, gotten some neg-ative press, Mr. Tennant was able to clear up and correct the misinformation as he answered ques-tions and left follow up information for meeting
attendees.
The concrete base of the sculpture, “Entwined”, has been installed and Dr. Carlson expects that the actual sculpture will be in place sometime in March.
Susan Buckley spoke about the JTCA annual East-er Egg hunt. It will be held on Saturday, March 30th
at 9:30am for children “tots” through nine years old. Susan has asked for volunteers to help with the event. Eileen Dardis will get a permit and as-sist with arrangements.
JTCA has installed two more gardens near the baseball complex. Roland Martens discussed “Adopt a Mile” on the Pinellas Trail. Dr. Carlson felt that the Boy Scouts might help out. The ques-tion posed was, does JTCA want to commit to this project?
The city is getting more assertive in dealing with Snipe Signs that continue to pop up through the JTCA area.
Dr. Carlson presented the current status of the proposed bike path through Walter Fuller Park. Though the city and the association are still ex-changing ideas, the current city plans are still un-acceptable to the association. JTCA members at the meeting felt that even having a path that took up additional permeable green space, was unnec-essary and not in line with the parks long term ap-proved plan.
There was no old or new business. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 pm. +++

Hello Neighbor,
Spring began with the Vernal Equinox on March 20th
. Equinox,
derived from Latin, means equal day and night. Many of us
are still striving to adjust to the time change!
In the Housing Market, all things are not equal.
Money magazine’s April 2013 edition boasts, “Housing is
Back!” What does this mean? For Buyers, “For the first time in
more than half a decade, the economics of the market are
working against you… inventory is tight… bidding wars are
back… to snag your dream home you’’ have to pay up and
contend with strict loan requirements.” For Sellers, “You have
finally gained the upper hand. To the get your best price,
though, you need to finesse your timing, list competitively,
and match your market to local conditions. “
Housing is Back in Pinellas County. February 2013 closed sales
in Pinellas County report a 17.9% increase year-over-year,
while active inventories for the same time period are down
14.2%. Jungle Terrace results less impressive: closed sales
have decreased by 41.6% (5 closed sales February 2013 v. 12
closed sales in February 2013) while the active inventories
year-over-year remained the same (20 active listings).
How can Juggle Terrace adjust to the change? Spring is in the
air. For every home I list, a very specific marketing plan is de-
veloped which will help you sell your home faster while get-
ting the most for you largest investment. For every Buyer I
work with, you will receive immediate notice of every listing
that meets your wish list and you have my commitment to
work diligently to get you a signed contract. Together, let’s
make Housing is Back the mantra in Jungle Terrace.
When you call, I answer!
