TEACHER ANNOTATIONS USING THE SUCCESS CRITERIA

The annotations capture observations by the teacher, using the success criteria, with a view to establishing the level of achievement this work reflects. The annotations and judgments were confirmed by a Quality Assurance group, consisting of practising teachers and representatives of the Inspectorate, the State Exams Commission and the Junior Cycle for Teachers support service.

SC1: The student has written some descriptive sentences, using a number of regular and irregular verbs and a range of adjectives but with a number of inaccuracies. Punctuation and capitalisation are generally correct. However, there is confusion between Sie/sie.

SC2: Adjectives in accusative form are declined correctly but there are many errors with the nominative form, with endings being added that shouldn’t e.g. sie ist aktive, gut-aussehenede, und süße.

SC3: Conjugation of present tense has not been fully understood. There is confusion between sie plural (they) with en ending and sie singular (she) with “t” ending.
