JUNIOR PREMIERSHIP
Our Under 12s claimed our first junior premiership in six seasons and our first Under 12
premiership since 2005/2006. The Grand Final was played at Lalor Stars and we had plenty of
support from parents and members. Batting first, Lalor Stars, were restricted to just 118 by some
very tight bowling and strong fielding. Grace Wake was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 13 off
5 overs. We were always in control during the chase and passed Lalor Stars without losing a
wicket. Gurnaz Khatra (50 retired not out), Aryan Sharma (26 not out) and Riley Gaylard (24 not
out) all batted superbly. A terrific effort by the players and a special thanks to their coach Matt
Harris for showing so much dedication and bringing the whole team together throughout the
season.
200 & A NAVA FOR FELLA
Paul ‘Fella’ Borg became the fifth Mill Park player to reach the 200 game milestone for the
club. Fella is a life member of the club and started playing in 1992/93. He is the current captain

Tony ‘Funky’ McMaster awarded Life Membership
Life membership is the highest individual honour that bestowed upon any person by the Mill Park
Cricket Club and at the Senior Presentation night, Tony McMaster became our 19th Life Member.
Tony has been an outstanding contributor to MPCC having played in our Money Shield
premiership side, coaching through milo, juniors and now as a development coach in our seniors.
He has captained our Vets team, held an executive committee position and a number of years
on the general committee. Tony thoroughly deserves this recognition and we thank him for his
great service to the Mill Park Cricket Club past and into the future.
Grant Halton – Our first winner of ‘The Charlie’
Congratulations to Grant Halton on becoming our clubs inaugural winner of ‘The Charlie’, voted
by his peers as the player who best displays team spirit and values.

Heading towards 2016/2017…
Leigh Stewart reappointed and will also captain the first XI
Our club coach, Leigh Stewart, has been reappointed for season 2016/2017. Leigh will also captain
the First XI next season as we move back to the traditional captain/coach position for next season.
Leigh is already well progressed in appointing his coaching support structure and pre-season plans
for next season.
Annual General Meeting – Wednesday 4th May at 7:00pm
Our AGM will be held at the club rooms on Wednesday 4th May at 7pm. The committee will present
the annual report including financials for the past 12 months. The committee will also be elected
at his meeting.
It is an important night to hear how the club is performing, have your opportunity to provide input
and for any interested people to nominate to be on the committee in 2016/2017.
There are two important topics for the night. The vote on introducing a new constitution (details on
the website) and our intent to introduce a junior cricket sub-committee formed by junior parents.
We welcome all junior parents to attend the AGM, particularly, if interested in being apart of the
junior committee.
New Apparel and in need of Major Sponsors
Next season, the committee is looking at introducing new playing apparel. This gives new sponsors
an opportunity to be promoted on the front and back of our players, giving them outstanding
exposure around the Diamond Valley area.
We are looking for five major sponsors to partner with the club for next season and beyond. These
packages are $2500 - $5000 to be a major sponsor of the club and have their logo on our playing
apparel. If you know of any interested businesses please contact the President, Rob Knee, as soon
as possible.
