OUR YEAR-ROUND STUDY TOUR PACKAGES are specially designed to give people of all ages an opportunity for personal growth and full immersion in English language and culture.

Study tours can include rigorous language instruction and action-packed activities. Our highly-trained and qualified instructors follow a structured curriculum, which focuses on vocabulary building, functional English, communicative grammar, writing, speaking, reading, and listening activities. Our qualified staff lead students on exciting activities which extend language learning beyond the classroom and allow our students to realize that English is much more than a school subject.

GROUP TOURS

GV HAWAII

CAMBRIDGE YOUNG LEARNERS OF ENGLISH (YLE) Cambridge Young Learners of English (YLE) is for children aged 7-12 (recommended) who want to learn English in a fun and supportive environment. Lesson topics and contents are engaging and designed especially for young learners with interactive projects, songs, games and puzzles. The YLE course focuses on making reading, listening, writing and speaking in English come naturally. The Young Learners of English program allows children to work towards three Cambridge certificates - Starters, Movers and Flyers. All students that take the YLE exam will receive an official Cambridge certificate.

PARENT AND CHILD / PARENT AND TEEN Parents study 20 lessons per week of General English classes (or Business English, TOEFL/TOEIC Test Preparation, etc.), while their children or teens can join the Cambridge YLE or Cambridge TLE classes and activities. GV Hawaii’s Cambridge TLE Program is for teens from 12 to 17 years old, and combine dynamic English lessons held on school campus with optional integrated, daily fun activities. Students learn about our island home’s unique culture, improve their English and make new friends during their stay in Hawaii. If homestay is chosen, our teens are welcomed into the home of one of our host families and made to feel part of their family during their stay. From carefully-screened homestay families to supervised activities, we spare no effort to create the safest possible conditions so that each student can make the most out of his or her once-in-a-lifetime experience.

GV CALGARY

WINTER ACTIVITY PROGRAM GV Calgary provides a 2, 3, or 4 week package to students who want to improve their English proficiency as well as experience the excitement of winter sports. The program is focused on serious learning, serious fun, all in the safety of the City of Calgary and area with caring, quality GV host families.

TEEN ACTIVITY PROGRAM (TAP) *WITH LEADERSHIP TRAINING Students can choose to take TAP (minimum 2-weeks registration) or TAP with Leadership Training. The TAP + Leadership Program begins on July 2, 2019, and is available in 3 or 4 week packages. All teen students will have ESL lessons in the mornings Monday to Friday, focusing on increasing fluency in Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. The package also includes four fun and exciting afternoon activities per week, and a selection of Saturday trips. Students in the Leadership Training Program must have GV5 level English (B2 on CEFR). The Leadership Training Program includes one week of intensive workshops instead of activities. Teen students improve their English rapidly at GV Calgary!

JANUARY JUNIOR WINTER CAMP For young, active students looking to Canada for a true winter experience full of English language immersion and a cornucopia of exciting activities, GV Vancouver offers the Junior Winter Camp Program in January. Offered in one, two or three-week packages, general English classes run Monday through Friday mornings followed by afternoon activities and excursions on weekends, including trips to the world famous Whistler Ski Resort, Victoria/Vancouver Island, snow tubing on the nearby coastal mountains, ice skating parties, as well as a host of urban delights in Vancouver: IMAX FlyOver Canada, Granville Island, TED Talks, Stanley Park, and more

TEEN ACTIVITY PROGRAM (TAP) GV VANCOUVER offers a premier study-activity summer program for teenagers wishing to balance English language training with fun-filled activities and cultural experiences, in a rich international and natural environment on the west coast of Canada. Students focus on all four language skills in the morning classes, followed by exciting and engaging activities and excursions in the afternoon and on weekends. Activities include excursions to world-famous Stanley Park, Whistler Mountain, Victoria/Vancouver Island and plenty of opportunities to experience nature and see animals. Students stay with homestay families managed directly by GV, offering support 24-7. GV Vancouver has the unique feature of involving Canadian Teen Leaders, responsible for assisting and befriending the students. Official FCE or CAE Cambridge exams are offered as an option at no extra charge.

GLOBAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM Specially designed for youths aged 16-21 years, the Global Youth Leadership Program combines general English communication classes with leadership and global competence classes, volunteer projects, socio-cultural activities, and tours. All GYL students receive a GV Certificate of Completion, while 8-week students also receive a Certificate of Global Competence.

Ages: 16-21, 30 Lessons Per Week, 4 or 8 Weeks

Ages: 15+ / 30 Lessons Per Week / 4/8/12 Weeks Note: This program is suitable for students 15 years and over who plan to enter an English-speaking high school, college or university.

HIGH SCHOOL PREPARATION High School Preparation is an academically rigorous program designed to help prepare students to meet the academic challenges they will face in Canadian high schools. The program includes a combination of General English in the morning and specialized elective classes in the afternoons. Afternoon classes include English for Academic Purposes (EAP) electives (academic reading and writing; research and presentation skills) and Content-based Electives (Canadian Culture and Society; Global Issues; and English for Social Media) 360 Report on student progress in the areas of Academics, Accommodations, and Activities provided every 4 weeks.
