Just because you have the right to do something in America doesnt mean that

it is the right thing to do.September 11, 2001 is a day that every American will never let go. It is now

nine years later and ground zero is still not completely taken care of. The Editorial

The Right Way to Remember speaks of how things will never be the same after

9/11, but no matter what we as Americans do we must try to overcome this horrific

thing that we call terrorism. Agreeing with this argument, I believe that no matter

what we do to try to rebuild our land of the free it will never be what it once was.

America was at its highest point, when all of the sudden our world as we knew it

began crumbling down; literally. But now, the physical rebirth is cause for

celebration, on this anniversary (A Right Way to Remember). In order for us to stay

on top we must focus on our future instead of dwell on our past.

Most Americans are still caught up wallowing in the intolerance and fear of

the hate-filled extremists. The Right Way to Remember delivers a positive

message to Americans who are still dwelling over the crisis that struck nine years

ago, and gives them hope for the future. Yes, it was depressing and life changing for

every American, but what harshly matters the most is that unfortunately the actions

    can never be undone.

Although the occurrence was severely painful, this editorial argues that

Americans can overcome their emotion and look at the situation in a positive light.

Making them appreciate whom and what they have, and remembering the victims as

heroes as well as honoring them. The structure of the argument in The Right Way

to Remember constantly keeps the reader intrigued as to what new ideas will come

from the rebirth of ground zero. It clearly states, The physical rebirth is called for

celebration on this anniversary. This means that the rebirth is not a time to

remorse but a time to rejoice. The way the author of this article presents his/her

take on 9/11 is remarkable, throughout the passage he/she continues to speak of

awful situations yet keeps the mood of it upbeat.

Consider having a loved one in the 9/11 attacks, now consider it being nine

years later; grief is a natural emotion that all human beings go through. But this

document is trying to put perspective on the reader that grief can only go so far until

it is time to take control; the argument however is, what is the correct response in

terms of taking control? What is a way we as Americans can be proactive instead of

reactive when it comes to our response to 9/11. Negative reactions to the terrorist

attacks could really put a target on our country, again. In The Right Way to

Remember the author discusses hate crimes happening in America specifically in

    Florida, against the Muslim religion.

Terry Jones, a minor preacher in Florida, managed to create a major furor by

scheduling a ritual burning of the Koran for September 11. Alarmed by hyperbolic

news coverage, the top general in Afghanistan, the secretary of defense, the State

Department and the president warned that such a bonfire would endanger

Americans and American troops around the world (The Right Way to Remember).

If this act were imposed to try to start up more drama with Islamic forces,

then it would have been on the right track to some type of negative energy with

them. The Right way to Remember argues that this was an heinous actstating Just

because you have the right to do something in America doesnt mean that it is the

right thing to do. Which brings the argument to the question of which act is

acceptable? Previous to the scheduled Koran burning, the Islamic community of

New York City has been pushing to build an Islamic Community Center, just blocks

from ground zero. This issue can be looked at or questioned two different ways. The

first way many have questioned, is this a necessary act? Or is this just another antic

to piss America off in hopes of retaliation?

If in fact this was to anger Americans then it did the job just fine, triggering

the acts of Terry Jones is a perfect example. But if we all just took a step back and

realized that the community center is to help build peace, then maybe there would

be less hatred and anger across Americans. Because remember the editorial argues

that Americans should be proactive instead of reactive when dealing with terrorism

and the rebirth of ground zero.

Now aware of the two sides of this claim, which act is more right than the

other? America at most is doing its best to rebuild ground zero best it can, so far it

has been mostly success with only a few obstacles in the way.

So far this is what has been happening at ground zero: as well as memorials,

skyscrapers are going up surrounding them. There will be numerous towers formed

in a circular ring. These towers are going up to eventually be filled with tourist,

commuters, shoppers, and of coarse workers. Now, would I want to be one of those

workers in a bran new skyscraper where the Twin Towers used to be? Probably not,

but for arguments sake; they are just trying to make it so that Ground Zero can go

back to being as normal as possible. Remember this is all about positive new energy.

Yes, it would be easy to just leave the memorials, and say no to the new

buildings; but in this case it would just be a grieving place as well as a place of

remembrance for the victims, and the victims families. The tallest skyscraper is

now a third of the way up. The developer Larry Silverstein has one of his

skyscrapers taking shape this one by the Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki. The

bases of two more are finally beyond the planning stage, as stated in The Right

Way to Remember. Larry Silverstien has embarked on a journey to create a new

image for Ground Zero. This again creates a positive energy for the city of New York.

Trying to make it normal to work in such an area with so much history, and bad

representation takes a lot of time and effort on behalf of New York City.

So what is the harm in having an Islamic community center you may ask?

    Some Americans feel
