Saladmaster Cookware Construction
INTERIOR SURFACE
Saladmaster’s 316Ti (UNS 31635) is a titanium stabilized austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel,
containing molybdenum. The addition of this:
• Increases corrosion resistance;
• Improves resistance to pitting chloride ion solutions; and
• Provides increased strength at elevated temperatures.
The properties are similar to those of type 316, except that 316Ti, due to the addition of titanium, can be
used at elevated sensitization temperatures. This also improves corrosion resistance, and particularly
against sulfuric, hydrochloric, acetic, formic and tartaric acids, acid sulfates and other alkaline chlorides.
Reference: ATI 316Ti™ Stainless Steel: Austenitic
This same 316 steel is used for pharmaceutical and medical purposes, and is the primary component of
Saladmaster’s interior surface metal. The titanium (Ti) addition to 316 steel, makes up slightly less than .1%
of the material in 316Ti. However, it does improve the performance of the metal. This also supports
Saladmaster’s core focus of providing the best food preparation products in terms of chemical resistance,
heat conductivity, cleanliness, convenience and durability.

THERMAL HEAT-CONDUCTING CORE
Between the inner and outer layers of stainless steel lies a thermal heat-conducting core that transfers
heat across the bottom and up the sides of the pan. The core is made of heat-conducting aluminum, which
provides the maximum heat transfer capabilities possible, to ensure the highest standards are met for even
heat distribution and performance.
EXTERIOR SURFACE The 400-series ferritic steel exterior provides the ultimate capabilities for cooking with induction, gas,
ceramic and electric cooktop surfaces.
VERSA LOC™ DETACHABLE HANDLES Saladmaster’s ergonomic, removable Versa Loc handle system (including long and side handles, the
Electric Oil Core Skillet legs, handle assembly, cover knobs and finger guards) is designed and
manufactured from a superior, high-quality phenolic material. Since the beginning of Saladmaster’s
cookware history, phenolic handles have been an important part of our product line. The phenolic material
provides a long-lasting durability and resistance to heat and chipping. The aesthetic properties of phenolic
allow for unique designs and textures, while providing high-polish abilities that add distinct beauty to each
piece. While the handles are not designed for ovenware, phenolic can withstand temperatures up to 350°
Fahrenheit F (or 177° Celsius C). The Versa Loc handle system and fittings are manufactured in Germany,
using high-quality standards, state-of-the-art equipment and proprietary design methods and technology.
The Versa Loc handles have a superior detachable mechanism, with a button release that has been
exclusively designed for Saladmaster. The functionality of the detachable handles provides excellent
transformation from cookware, by removing the handles, to becoming ovenware, serving ware, and
storage ware.

COOKWARE BRACKETS Our Saladmaster cookware brackets are constructed of Type 304 stainless steel, which represents an
excellent combination of corrosion resistance and fabricability. Type-304 stainless steel is a nickel
austenitic alloy and is used for a variety of applications due to its resistance to corrosion, prevention of
product contamination, resistance to oxidation, ease of fabrication, excellent formability, beauty of its
appearance, ease of cleaning, its lasting strength with a low weight, and for its toughness.

VAPO-VALVE™ The Saladmaster Vapo-Valve is a registered trademark, and is an integral feature and benefit to the
Saladmaster cooking method. Introduced and incorporated into the first Saladmaster cookware line, Mirror
Masterbuilt, which was introduced in 1949, the Vapo-Valve technology is as important to our cooking
methods today as it was when introduced more than seven decades ago. It’s designed, weighted and
calibrated to produce an audible clicking sound that signals during the cooking process and before the
food inside the pan reaches the boiling point of 212° F (or 100° C). This audible sound indicates it’s time to
lower the temperature setting on the cooktop to “Low” when cooking in Saladmaster cookware, and to
position the electrical probe temperature setting below 212° F (100° C) when cooking with the Saladmaster
Electric Oil Core products. The Vapo-Valve is at the heart of the Saladmaster language, “Medium-Click-
Low is all you need to know.”
THE SALADMASTER FOOD PROCESSOR The world-renowned Saladmaster Food Processor or sometimes referred to as the “Saladmaster Machine”
is our company’s namesake product, and was one of the first food processors ever made.
The Saladmaster Food Processor has been our signature product since our company’s inception in 1946,
and it continues to rank number one, above all other product categories, in Saladmaster’s product usage
reports.
There are a combined total of 25 steps in the manufacturing process that give the Saladmaster Food
Processor its beauty and versatility:
The Saladmaster Food Processer is constructed of a zinc die-casting process, with layers of copper applied
to seal the zinc and build dimension, followed by nickel and heavy chrome-plating processes that are
scientifically measured to achieve its’ beautiful luster while protecting the underlying metal layers.
Careful attention to detail is required at every step to ensure the longevity and quality for a lifetime.
Each of the final adjustment steps are proprietary, to ensure Saladmaster has the best, most consistent
quality possible in the cutting and slicing of the foods prepared with the Saladmaster Food Processor.
Each Saladmaster Food Processor is then packaged with five cutting cones that are constructed of 400-
series stainless steel for everlasting sharpness, beauty and protection.

` THE SALADMASTER FOOD PROCESSOR (Continued)
Silicone suction cups are custom fitted to the base of the food processor for secure positioning on kitchen
countertops.
The food guide was custom designed by industrial engineers and is manufactured through an injection
molding process for a perfect secure fit to the Saladmaster Food Processor hopper. This custom-designed
craftsmanship enables perfect cutting of fruits and vegetables.
Each precision engineered manufacturing step of the Saladmaster Food Processor is essential for a lifetime
of product performance.
Occasionally the question is asked, why the Saladmaster Food Processer isn’t made in the U.S.A. The
Saladmaster Food Processer manufacturing processes are completely different from our cookware
manufacturing processes. While our cookware is made with sophisticated double action hydraulic draw
technology and mechanical presses, the leg section and hopper are formed through zinc die cast injection
molds with multiple layers of plating processes, as previously described. Today, this type of manufacturing
is commonly found in Asia.
ELECTRIC OIL CORE “EOC” SKILLETS & MULTI-PURPOSE 5-QUART ROASTER - “MP5” Advanced engineering has enabled us to provide you with a sophisticated stainless steel cooking utensil
that is perfect for baking, braising, pan-broiling, roasting, sautéing, simmering, stewing and stir-frying.
The innovative design of the Stainless Steel Electric Oil Core Skillet and 5-Quart Multi-Purpose Roaster
provides even heat distribution across the bottom and up the sides of the units to prevent sticking and
burning. The oil core allows the units to retain the heat, making them perfect for table and buffet service.
EOC & MP5 CONSTRUCTION There are a combined total of 35 manufacturing steps during the production process for Saladmaster
electric oil core products.
The inner shell of Saladmaster’s electric oil core products is constructed of hard, polished 316Ti stainless
steel, which resists pitting, cracking and chipping while protecting the quality, texture and flavor of food.
The outer shell is constructed of Type 304 stainless steel, which is easy to clean. These products are made
of the finest craftsmanship and are designed to retain their beautiful appearance for years.

EOC & MP5 CONSTRUCTION (Continued)
The amazing oil core provides fast, even heat distribution for EOCs and MP5s over the entire cooking
surface. The oil core effectively eliminates hot spots thanks to a special blend of petroleum-based
synthetic oil. This oil never needs to be replaced.
With the electric touch-pad heat control probe removed, the EOCs and MP5s can be easily washed in the
sink or placed in a dishwasher. Water will not damage the heating element, which is sealed beneath the
cooking surface, and is protected from moisture and corrosion.
The oil core retains heat long after the unit is unplugged. Because of this, food will maintain proper serving
temperatures without the cord attached when used to serve at the table.
