Star Track Album Seen 'N' Heard M usic executive, L.A. Reid, is planning to combine vocals from Michael Jackson and Justin Bieber for a new track. Reid, Epic Records Chairman and CEO, served as the executive producer of the King of Pop’s recently released posthumous album, Xscape, which features never-heard-before songs that Jackson recorded before his death in 2009. Last year (2013), a track, titled Slave To The Rhythm, featuring Jackson, with additional vocals from Bieber, leaked online, but it was quickly removed. Because of the slip-up Reid, who signed the young singer to his first record deal in 2009, decided to scrap Bieber from the record and the track only features Jackson on the final cut of the album. Reid now reveals that he was disappointed he had to take his young protégé off the track, but promises a Jackson/Bieber col- laboration will come in the future. He said, “I signed Justin, so I feel a loyalty. I feel like I should protect him. That’s my relationship with him. But Slave To The Rhythm didn’t include him per my direction. “If it hadn’t been leaked, it would have been featured but it sort of took the wrong turn. But you know what? We’re gonna revisit that. We’re going to revisit it and do something really special with Justin Bieber and Michael.” Meanwhile, the single from Xscape, Love Never Felt So Good, featuring Justin Timberlake, has been climbing up the U.S. charts, and the accompanying music video debuted on Wednesday, May 14th, 2014, with new footage of Timberlake, intertwined with old video clips of Jackson. She dances in these sheets at night She dances to his needs She dances ‘til he feels just right Until he falls asleep She dances at the crack of dawn And quickly cooks his food She can’t be late, can’t take too long The kids must get to school (Chorus x2) She’s a slave to the rhythm She’s a slave to the rhythm of She’s a slave to the rhythm A slave to the rhythm of The rhythm of love, the rhythm of love She dances for the man at work Who works her overtime She can’t be rude as she says “Sir, I must be home tonight.” She dances to the kitchen stove Dinner is served by nine He says his food’s an hour late She must be outta her mind (Repeat Chorus) She works so hard, just to make her way For a man who just don’t appreciate And though he takes her love in vain Still she could not stop, couldn’t break his chains She danced the night that they fell out She swore she’d dance no more But then she did, he did not quit as she ran out the door She danced through the night in fear of her life She danced to a beat of her own She let out a cry and swal- lowed her pride She knew she was needed back home, home (Repeat Chorus five times) * Sent by: Kylie (Pretty Girl) of Colombo HEARD…he seemed to have enjoyed the wonderful music – half asleep! And, I believe, the main reason is that the majority of the music-minded pub- lic have the opportunity of exercising their vocal chords at these happen- ings. Most of these events draw large, appreciative crowds and, according to reports coming my way, enjoyment is always at its maximum. I still haven’t been to such an event but I plan to be a part of the action of the Sing-Along that is being organized by Rhythm World Dance Studio. I’ve got to be there because The Island and The Sunday Island are the media sponsors. Moreover, I’ve been to one of the events, organized by Rhythm World Dance Studio, and I must say that what they do, they do it in GREAT STYLE. And I’m absolutely certain that their Sing-Along will be awesome! Firstly, they have got probably the best band in town when it comes to sing- along events – Sohan & The X-Periments. And leader Sohan has that special knack of get- ting and audience to exer- cise their vocal chords, full throttle! And when it’s time to move your body, on the dance floor, Sohan & The X- Periments will have the right play list to get you going. Of course, the highlight of the evening will be the action, on the dance floor, by the students of Rhythm World Dance Studio. They will certainly mes- merize you! The Directress of Rhythm World Dance Studio, Shiromi Perera, says that everything is in place for a truly memo- rable event, on Sunday, June 15th, 2014, at The Grand Monarch Hotel, Thalawathugoda. And it’s a sure remedy for most ailments. What is interesting is that the Gypsies have some up with a special musical mixture and are calling it “Koththamalie.” Leader Sunil Perera is a master creator of such concoctions and they have all been major hits for the Gypsies. In the past, we have had “Kurumito,” “Uncle Johnson,” “I Don’t Know Why,” etc. “Koththamalie” is ready and should be out shortly. With entertainer par excellence, Sunil, at the helm, predictions are that this track and video will be another blockbuster song for the fab- ulous Gypsies.
