Design Work

Graphic Design

I am a designer who draws inspiration from cultural experiences as well as my day to day encounters. My interests include graphic design , fashion design, graffiti, product design , and scale model making. I have such a wide range of interests because I do not want to limit myself to just one profession.

My goal with my design career is to experience all forms of design as well as outside art forms in order to create a skill set for myself that will set my work apart from the common designer. I believe in never shying away from new challenges because in the long run it will do nothing but benefit you as a person and a professional.

Pop art birdcage Chindogu Table top Piece

Constructed from modeling foam and wood. Chindogu is the art of creating objects that have a purpose but they also have a quality of uselessness

that comes accompanied with it. I created a table top sculpture that serves the purpose of organization but provides minimal space.

Client Based Project Final Rendering

As a team, the solution we arrived at was to design a personal art cart for our client. The cart came equipped with drawers for supply storage, drawing/painting utensil holders, a vacuum formed water tray for paint brushes, wheels for easy maneuvering throughout the work space, and side straps in order for the artist to keep their supply cart near at all times.

Constructed out of ply-wood, nylon webbing, acrylic, styrene, and small wheels.

Through collaboration between Jefferson University and UART’s students, we were presented with the challenge to design a product for a local artist who was in need. The client was dealing with multiple health issues and it was our goal to make their art process stress free.

3D Modeling Bike Seat prototype

Here is a 3D rendering of a case for an Opinel Knife. The case comes equipped with a rubber slip that insures the security of the knife.

This a bicycle seat concept inspired by the Schwinn Stingray Banana seat. The elongated seat has been re-purposed to serve as extra storage for commuting cyclists. Furthered thinking would lead me to iterate with different materials such as leathers and plastics.

Constructed out of walnut veneer.

Future Fashion project

My senior capstone was largely based around the process of making from beginning to end. My topic of choice was the future fashion of our world.

The question being asked in my project is, what will we wear in our future with the ever evolving problem of climate change? Within climate change the area I decided to elaborate on was the issue of flash flooding. I took the initiative to design a garment that was stylish but also effective in the event of a life threatening flood.

Concept Sketches

With my topic in mind, it was time to begin the early prototyping faze. I took it upon myself to learn the basics of sewing and pattern making in order to create my final garment.

I experimented with various material combinations before attempting to construct the final piece.

After numerous attempts, I finally arrived at my desired pattern along with material choices. The final materials include neo-prene, a very breathable mesh, and most importantly type 2 PFD foam to create the desired buoyancy.

After developing a love for soft goods I constructed a second final piece for per-sonal experimentation. Once I became com-fortable with the machine I was using it was hard for me to not continue the mak-ing process using new variations of color and patterns.
