Potential of renewable energies

The annual supply of renewbale energy significantly surpasses the world´s energy need.

Technology is already so far advanced that the world´s energy demand can be met by renewable

energy sources within the next 30 years.

Structure of global energy consumption

Renewable energies already provided 19% of global energy production in 2011.

Modern renewable energies are more used than traditional biomass.

The development of wind and solar energy is growing rapidly.

Prognosis

Page 10: Juwi Global Presentation

Renewable energies in Germany

In 2013, around 147 billion kilowatt hours

(kWh) of green electricity were produced.

That corresponds to 25% of all power

production.

Wind power is currently the most

important renewable energy source.

Gas and Fuel Oil Are the Actual

Cost-drivers

The average household pays

approximately 4,300 Euros for

various forms of energy per year

Gas and fuel oil are particularly

expensive

The discussion about the great costs

for electricity is perverting the truth

FIGURES AND LOCATIONS

Note:

In 2013, so-called off-

balance effects increasingly

came into operation. In

these cases, turnover is

realized beyond the juwi

group’s consolidation

scope, namely in project

companies that have

already been sold. This

turnover is thus not

mirrored in the results. 0

Securing economic efficiency:

With precise projects we help our partners to get ready for the future. We strengthen regional economic

power – on a long term basis.

Goal-oriented integration:

We can make use of and combine all types of renewable energy. We combine the interests of all those

involved.

Providing independence:

Our decentralized solutions provide independence for communities, industrial business and individuals,

independent from fluctuant prices, expensive energy imports and monopolies.

Based on partnership:

We offer turnkey projects as well as EPC services.

Due to the wind velocity and the distance to residential areas, forested

areas are prime locations for wind energy production. To date, juwi has

constucted more than 210 turbines in the forest with a total capacity

exceeding 500 MW

Locations are definded in close cooperation with proprietors and forest

offices with the focus to minimize intrusions into nature.

juwi Wood Pellets

At several locations in Germany, we produce and sell

the carbon-neutral juwi wood pellets – an inexpensive

heat supplier for residential and commercial real estate.

juwi Wood Briquettes

Since 2012, juwi produces high-quality wood briquettes

in Bad Arolsen (North Hesse) and in Dotternhausen

(Baden-Wuerttemberg) that are the most suitable

natural fuel for burning in chimneys.

A world where ...

Energy supply is only clean, in a mix of wind and

solar energy, bioenergy, hydropower, geothermal

energy

Energy prices are cheap and remain permanently

stable; wind and solar energy are available

indefinitely and for free everywhere

People and regions become independent;

no excessive spending on imports of energy and raw

materials

People find meaningful employment;

about 350,000 people work in the renewable energy

sector in Germany
