ECONOMICS(Feasibility & Viability)

Another misconception is that a cow, which has

stopped yielding milk, is a burden on the farmer!

The average yield of cow dung per day from a cow is

approximately 10-15kgs. With proper inputs and

usage of biomass this can be converted into useful

compost, which replaces the traditional fertilizers.

20-25 kgs of bio-fertilizer can be produced from one

kg of cow dung by mixing it with biomass.

Now bio-gas is being successfully

filled in cylinders like C.N.G. and

vehicles / train is running with bio-

gas as fuel.

ENERGYHow is cow dung of help ?

Cow dung saves 35 million tonnes of

coal, 68 million tonnes of fuel wood. In

other words nearly 140 million trees of

20 –25 years old would be required to

be felled each year otherwise.
