IEI provides RMI Alchemy™ RISC-based technology to enable users to play DVD-quality video efficiently at full-frame rates with low power consumption. The integrated MAE (Media Acceleration Engine) supports common digital video media including MPEG�, �, 4, DivX, and WMV9 scaled up to �0�4 x 768 pixel resolution , and delivers full D� resolution without the need for a DSP or specialized coding. The Alchemy™ technology also leverages a unique approach to DDR� memory to deliver better overall performance than SDRAM components, and IDE interface with support for PIO mode and multiword simple DMA data transfers up to a peak of 80 Mbps.

The Freescale i.MX31 solution is based on ARM1136J-FS platform running up to 532 / 665 MHz, boosted with multi-level cache system (L1, L2), and reinforced with MPEG4 hardware encoder (VGA, 30 FPS), autonomous Image Processing Unit, 2D/3D graphics accelerator, Vector Floating Point (VFP11) co-processor, and Smart RISC based DMA controller. IEI provides the Freescale i.MX3� solutions for applications such as portable devices, �D/3D gamming, �D/3D GPS navigators, telematics, vehicle PCs, and industrial embedded controllers.
• ATMEL AT91SAM9261
The ATMEL ARM9 AT9�SAM9�6� is an ultra low-power, deterministic microcontroller based on the ARM9�6EJ-S processor running at �90 MHz . The ATMEL ARM9 AT9�SAM9�6� features �60 KB SRAM and 3� KB ROM with single cycle access at maximum processor or bus speed, together with an external bus interface with controllers for SDRAM and static memories including NAND Flash and CompactFlash™. Its extensive peripheral set includes USB Full Speed Host and Device interfaces, an LCD Controller, Multimedia Card Interface (MCI), Synchronous Serial Controllers (SSC), USARTs, Master/Slave Serial Peripheral Interfaces (SPI), a three-channel 16-bit Timer Counter (TC) and a Two Wire Interface (TWI). Three 32-bit Parallel I/O Controllers multiplex the pins to/from these peripherals in order to reduce the device pin count, and peripheral DMA channels maximize the data throughput between these interfaces and the on- and off-chip memories. IEI provides ATMEL ARM9 solutions as cost-effective RISC-based embedded solutions for smart devices, remote data collectors, small panel-ready terminal, and industrial embedded controllers.

Windows® CE 5.0 Windows® CE is optimized for devices that have minimal storage. The Windows® CE kernel may run in under a megabyte of memory. Devices are often configured without disk storage and can be run using ROM or CompactFlash™ memory. Windows® CE conforms to the definition of a real-time operating system, with a deterministic interrupt latency.
Embedded Linux Kernel 2.6.18Embedded Linux is the designation for Linux-based operating systems that are used in various embedded devices. Linux is suitable for other embedded applications such as networking equipment, machine control, industrial automation, navigation equipment, and medical instruments. Embedded Linux can be characterized as different from desktop and server versions of Linux in that embedded Linux is designed for devices with comparably limited resources, such as smaller sizes of RAM and much more limited secondary storage.

Solution
IEI provides a special optional OEM/ODM consulting, design and production service. This service is aimed at making it easier for customers to integrate the embedded SBC into their own products and embedded systems. IEI develops customizations by understanding the entire architecture of the target application into which the IEI SBC will be installed. Such understanding is developed through constant communication between our customers and our R&D, technical support, sales and marketing, and project management teams.

Evaluation KitsThe KAMIO series also offer two ready-to-run rapid evaluation kits, the IPXA�70-DK0�/DK0�. Both evaluation kits feature all the hardware needed for immediate startup, subsequent development, and evaluation for OEM/ODM services. These evaluation kits provide SDK and Windows® CE 5.0 BSP or Embedded Linux BSP for customers to develop application software and to customize their own embedded OS image. IEI welcomes OEM/ODM of KAMIO solutions and recommends our customers use IPXA�70-DK0�/DK0� to evaluate our KAMIO solutions.

• With the Computer-On-Module approach, all generic RISC CPU functions are readily available on an IEI off-the-shelf RISC COM, allowing system developers to focus on their core competence and unique functions of their domain applications. This approach greatly enhances productivity and reduces design cost and time to market.
• The KAMIO RISC COM solution introduces the 80/�0 rule that 80% of a system development is focused on the generic system core such as CPU resource design and management, power management, memory management, and control logics, while the remaining 20% is for flexible of customization such as communication functionalities and peripheral supports. The 80% generic development is done in IEI off-the-shelf RISC COM and the �0% special customized development is done in a specific carry board.
• The KAMIO KEB (KAMIO Expansion Bus) Interface is an IEI proprietary standard interface that defines the interface connectors between a KAMIO COM and a carry board. All IEI KAMIO RISC COMs and KAMIO carry boards support this interface for flexibility and compliance to use any type of KAMIO COM with any type of KAMIO carry board. The KAMIO KEB Interface defines the interface to attach the system to peripherals and diversified I/O functions, such as Ethernet, Wireless LAN, Full �.0B CAN, USB host/client, Serial Ports, audio, LCD display, storage media, digital I/O, and additional expansion devices.
• Besides providing several off-the-shelf and ready-to-run KAMIO carry boards, IEI also helps customers to design their best-fit carry boards which complement the COM with additional functionalities required for specific applications.
