In the CSR it has been
stated that KPT has
granted funds in city only
for the CSR. The amount
allocated for villages is too
small. It is not possible to
construct road from this.
Tuna, Vandi, Rampar,
kidana all are coming
within the area.
In the survey conducted
by you, you are also not
aware of the villages which
are covered. In that case
to what extent this public
hearing will be successful?
You do not know how
many villages are there,
how many are affected.
You do not have its

Village-Sanghad.
The company is not aware
that who is called the
Agariya? Who is called
fisherman? Who is called
public? Who is called
farmer? All should be
issued notice and work
should be done in public.
How much of our land has
been taken by force. My
village is in the affected
area and not a single
village has been included
for the development.
All the leaders of the
village have come in this
public hearing. You would
understand the problem of
common people? Even
small person should come
in this hearing.
Today‟s public hearing has
been scheduled for file
opinion as per the rule of
govt. where Class I Govt.
Officers has opined that
this is not grassing land.
The grassing land is also
allotted for salt in this
manner have the orders
also.
Since 60 years the KPT
has suppressed us. Even
today many cattle land
have been taken over.
They have not kept their
promise. They had asked
the land for development.
Neither development has
been done nor the land
has been returned to us.
There are about 10
villages in the vicinity
which include Tuna,

and KPT included all
under CSR Scheme
and kept 30 lakhs for
each village for
development.
Representation from
the villages from time

included. No land
acquisition has been
required.
The Honorable

13 Shri Kasambhai Traya.
Ta.Gandhidham
Once again Kasambhai
stand up and stated that
whatever questions I
asked earlier are technical
questions and not a single
has been replied. I have
come with 100% proof.
Where is the location of
1000 hectares of
mangrove plantation? Are
you aware that what is the
CRZ? Why This project has
not been considered within
A1?
These projects are
taken up with
permission of MOEF.
Mangroves if any
destroyed comes
within the permissible
area. Kandla Port has
not done anything on
its own. Apart from
this now mangrove
plantation is to be
done. Creek has not
been blocked.
Everything will be
furnished to you in
writing.
Project consultant Shri
Arvinder S Brara
stated that their
company is
accredited. The
project could not be
taken up without
accreditation. Our
laboratory is not only
accredited by NABET
but also certified by
NABL, MOEF and ISO.
Your question about
the mangrove is
sensitive. Plantation of
mangroves has been
shown in the report at
many places. Many
times the trees are
required to be
destroyed, and then
the rules are that if
you cut 100 trees then
you have to plant
more than that. You
are some what correct

At what locations the
mangroves have been
planted?
Renuka Sugar had also
asked for permission to
construct jetty in this area.
They have not been
granted EC andtheir
proposal has been
cancelled then how could
you proceed ahead. What
has happened so that
there are separate rules
for KPT and Renuka Sugar.
Rules should be same for
all.
that for construction
of jetty few
mangroves are
affected. But the same
are not badly affected
and are planted again.
KPT has replanted the
mangroves in
association with forest
and ecology
department.
Report mentions that
plantation has been
done in Sat-Saida
island and Nakti
creek.
Your question is
correct. Your worries
are justified that
mangroves and
ecology balance has to
be taken care of.
There should be no
harm to those. There
is committee for CRZ
one should have faith
in it. Based on our
mitigation measures
they shall take
technically suitable
decision.
Project with crores of
rupees is coming and
there will be increase
in employment and
happiness. For this
nature should not
suffer. The CRZ
committee shall
examine all the details
and then take
decision. KPT shall be
doing all the things as
per rules only. it is
helpful and wishing to
help. Earlier also I had
meeting with the Chief
Engineer to address
the concerns of the
villagers who come
here. And we have
recommended that
the panchayats should
be allocated projects

matter cannot be
resolved by simply
opposing. Opportunity

shall get whatever our
rights are. You shall
get reply in writing
also.

On what basis this has

when Kandla jetty was

fishing jetty, Fisheries
process plant and Ice
factory was there.
Fisheries Officer was there.
All of which were acquired
by you in 1979. On what
basis you have stated that
there are no fishermen. A

activity is unauthorized
means it is not legal. No
fishermen or salt worker
should be harmed. No land

Govt. or KPT should make

25 Shri. Kasambhai Traya,
Village. Gandhidham
We are not satisfied with
this public hearing the
village people are not
agreed to it. The company
does not have answers to
the question whether the
present projects falls in
CRZ I – A or in CRZ I – B ?
This projects falls in CRZ I
– A for this projects
Renuka Sugar had applied
for barge jetty accordingly
it comes in CRZ I – A.
There is no grazing land in
vandi village. There only
business is that of fishing.
The same has not been
taken note of by these
people in the survey. In
very first projects at Tekra
there was CRZ
recommendation for
blocking of creek,
It comes in CRZ I – B.
This projects is of
different natures and
absolutely of Renuka

employment to fisherman,
damage to mangorves all
this has been violated.
Now the new project which
has been brought there is
no assurance that there
will not be violation.
There are violation in the
projects which is on
progress you have blocked
all the creeks. Now you
are doing to block the
remaining creeks. Where
shall our fisherman go?
People over here are doing
the business of fishing only
which is there ancestral
work. These people cannot
go elsewhere for labour
work. The agency which
has erred in conducting
survey to what extent the
EIA report prepared by
them can be considered as
valid? Permission has been
given for jetty and railway
to this consultant.
They do not have
permission for dredging,
storing, and other
projects. There are only
these 2 projects in the
report submitted to the
ministry. If they have any
proofs within how many
days the proofs shall be
furnished to us. If are
available right now the
same may be shown now.
Have all the
permissions and shall
be furnished
subsequently.

What is distance between
Tuna Port and Tekra?
How many fisherman are
there in Tekra?
Presently there are 33
families of fisherman in
Rampar, for which I have
the record. There are in
vandi also, but for them I
do not have record. The
fishermen from their
ancestral times are living
at Tekra. They are going

presently they have been

vandi
To what extent this project
is harmful for fisherman,
can be seen from the
survey done it has been
shown in the report, that 8
mm/L of oil and grease
have been observed.
Whereas per government
rules if it is 4.0 mm/L then
no project can be
approved at that place.
Since with the present
projects the pollution to
the extent of 8.0 mm/liter
has been observed, in that
case what shall be the
effect on the sea water
when another 10 projects
shall be up coming ?
Company says this is not a
fishing zone, than your
zone which is mid Channel,
it extents up to what area?
What is called deeping

held at Vira, we had gone
to meet vaghela saheb, at
that time he said that we
acknowledge that your
fishermen are living there.
The bouya which we are

The consultant of the
company stated that
the contention about
the report of grease
and oil is true but the
permission limit is 10.
This report has been
sent everywhere and
nothing has been
hide. It is within
limits. This will also be
reviewed, as to how
the oil and grease can
be reduced.
It has also been
described in the
report, that what will
be effects on account
of this projects. In the
MOEF also such type
of questions are being
asked. It is
responsibility of KPT
to review it and evolve
measures as to how to
control it.
As per rules this is not

it does not harm the
fisherman, so you decide
your zone along with us.
Please reply as to what is
called mid channel and
Deeping area ?
When 10 more projects
will come, to what extent
the pollution will increase ?
I am working as fisherman
with Kandla port since
1978 they are saying that
this is not fishing zone in
that case. I am having
many fisherman licenses
issued by harbour master
of KPT and lastly in 1991
we fisherman were told to
leave this area and go
away. And in the report it
is being written that there
are no fisherman, fishing
zone, boats.
When chemical is un
loaded from the ship from
outside there permission is
given for 11000 M.T. But
to what extent and to the
extent of 54000 M.T you
have reached. To what
extent it is reasonable? are
not you creating pollution
in sea water?
Secondly after loading the
ship, it is washed, how
much water is being
consumed and where this
wastewater is being
disposed off ? where are
Dy. Chairman replied
that tankers with
different chemicals are
coming. No
permission is being
given to wash, the
same with water,
chemical wash is
being done and
permission is given to
again fill it inside the
tanker. There for the
company which brings
the ship, the same
company takes it back
in the ship. It is not
being discharged in
the sea water.
