Auf Englisch

A preposition is a word that shows the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in the sentence. Prepositions may indicate position, direction, or time.

Let’s drive to Los Angeles. We can go in August. But don’t go without us. We would like to ride with you.I am from Brandenburg. I’ll see you on your birthday.

The noun or pronoun that the preposition connects to the rest of the sentence is called the object of the preposition. The preposition and its object together are called a prepositional phrase.
