Ang Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals (AMCP), with its reputation for accuracy, fairness and credibility, ang namahala at naghusga ng kompetisyon.

Wika ni Arnold Pedrigal, ang Founder ng Prowave Media Founder at Executive Producer ng Power ng Pinoy TV, “This is a great honor for the entire production team. As our first venture in TV production, I am very grateful to the dedication of our talented and professional team of writers, producers, editors, and the entire staff. We will continue to produce Power ng Pinoy to inspire others by telling stories of great achievers such as Jessica Cox.”

Si Joseph Francia, ang Vice President ng GMA International ay naghatid ng kanyang pagpugay - “Our sincerest congratulations to Arnold and his team on these well-deserved awards. We commend ‘Power ng Pinoy’ for their advocacy to promote positive Filipino values and feature noteworthy role models among the Filipino-American community. We are honored that the program has chosen GMA Pinoy TV as the platform for their outstanding features.”

The Philippines has 7,107 reasons to celebrate – the Philippine islands and the unique celebrations that reflect diverse cultures and traditions!

This is what GMA Network shares with the world via it’s newest program Let’s Fiesta! Produced by GMA Regional TV, the weekly travelogue is the only Philippine TV program that captures the true essence of Filipino fun as every episode brings viewers to the biggest and the grandest festivals in the country.

“Let’s Fiesta! is a spinoff of Kapuso Fiesta, a weekly TV Special produced by GMA Regional TV which featured our various on-ground events and festival participations mounted for GMA Network since 2008. This relaunch is in-depth. It digs deeper into the cultural and historical aspect of each Filipino celebration,” says Jocelyn Bautista - Pacleb, Senior Program Manager of GMA Regional Entertainment TV.

Let’s Fiesta! is hosted by seasoned comedian John Feir, who, aside from immersing into the festivities, takes viewers on side trips to uncover the web of wonders in the featured locale. He experiences exotic gastronomic encounters, amazing natural wonders, exciting outdoor adventures and historical explorations – places and tidbits that some Pinoys may not even be aware of! “I lived in Manila all my life but it is only by travelling to different regions in the country that I realized the main reason why Filipinos are so resilient - no matter what our country and our people go through, we never run out of reasons to smile,” John shares.

Since its launch last February, Let’s Fiesta! continues to gain considerable success in TV Ratings and has gained a significant following in its official Facebook page. The program is relatable to all Pinoys not only in content but that each is translated into the dialect where it airs!

Now airing on GMA Life TV, the program gives our Kapusos abroad the chance to “come home” and “live” in their homeland while they are away.

Let’s Fiesta! – another reason why it’s more fun in the Philippines! Call your preferred cable TV operator now and subscribe to GMA Life TV!

This belief from LGR, the new lady boss of the Entertainment TV Group of the Philippines’ no.1 network is evident in GMA’s new roster of dramas.

How has Philippine drama evolved through the times?

Ms. Rasonable: Philippine Drama has grown by leaps and bounds in terms of story, now tackling a wider variety of themes, becoming braver as it takes risks in dealing with subject matter that was considered not sellable before (e.g. historical subject matter) or touching on controversial issues that pose moral questions. It has become very sophisticated technically and in all other production aspects – direction, lighting, editing, musical scoring, production design.

How has the Philippine TV drama fared internationally in terms of plot, production values, and acting?

Ms. Rasonable:(In terms of plots) I think we still have a lot to learn from Hollywood and from Korean, Japanese, and Chinese dramas, but this is not to say that our drama plots are not competitive internationally. Proof of this is the very positive reception of the Pinoy TV audience to our dramas and the fact that our past dramas are now being syndicated in many countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Africa, to name a few. We have even sold franchise of our soap to Cambodia.

Philippine TV drama is competitive internationally in terms of production value. We only have to cite Amaya to prove this point. We also have a wealth of excellent actors who we can match against international actors anytime.

How is GMA TV drama significant among its Philippine television competition?

Ms. Rasonable:GMA TV drama’s significance among its competition has always been its ability to offer something new and exciting to the audience – to trailblaze. MULAWIN started it all, with its winged protagonists and its high-tech special effects. ENCANTADIA set the benchmark against which all fantasy soaps are now measured. We were the first to do a superhero soap, DARNA, to adapt a well-loved Mexicanovela, MARIMAR, to do a Philippine version of a Koreanovela, AKO SI KIMSAMSOON. The very first kantaserye, DIVA, and danserye, TIME OF MY LIFE, were produced by GMA DRAMA. And of course, we remain to be the first and only one to take that brave step in producing AMAYA, the first historical-fiction epic soap.

In your opinion, what makes an effective dramatic actor and director?

Ms. Rasonable:(An actor is effective when he) is able to shed off his actor persona and take over the character completely so that what the audience sees is the character and not the personality behind it; when he is able to draw empathy from the audience with the way he attacks the role, delivers his lines, interacts with his co-actors, and his nuances.

For me, an effective drama director must be a great storyteller through his camera shots. He must be able to have deep and complete understanding of the script and each scene so that he is able to bring to life the message or intention of each scene. I also believe that a director is most effective when he is an “actor’s director.”

What is the Kapuso aspect that makes its drama programs distinct?

Ms. Rasonable:As the word “Kapuso” suggests, GMA dramas are one with the viewers’ hearts. With every drama program that we produce, we aim to touch our viewers emotionally and further create that kinship of hearts with them. The Kapuso core value of pursuing creativity and innovation is also an ever-present force which guides us in making our programs distinct. As earlier mentioned, GMA dramas created (and continues to create) many “firsts” in Philippine television.

What is in the latest Kapuso drama line-up and how will they excite/arrest the viewers?

Ms. Rasonable:We recently launched PAROA, ANG KWENTO NI MARIPOSA, occupying the time slot before 24 Oras. It tells the heartwarming tale of Mariposa (played by teen sensation Barbie Forteza), a half-butterfly, half-human and how someone with a not-so-normal persona survives in a world full of judgment and discrimination. She finds solace and hope in the arms of a loving adoptive mother (Agot Isidro) and a kind-hearted friend (Derrick Monasterio).

Last October 29, the Philippine adaptation of the sensational hit Koreanovela, TEMPTATION OF WIFE, premiered in the Telebabad block. It stars our prime drama artists – award-winning actor, Dennis Trillo, versatile actress Glaiza de Castro, and primetime drama queen Marian Rivera. This is also the first major project of new Kapuso artist, Rafael Rosell.

2012 will end with a big bang as GMA launches PAHIRAM NG SANDALI on Primetime. A high-quality drama-study on the intricacies of love relationships at different levels, PAHIRAM NG SANDALI is megged by award-winning film and TV director, Maryo J. de los Reyes and is led by top Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes and the beautiful and talented Kylie Padilla. PAHIRAM NG SANDALI marks the return of Ms. Lorna Tolentino to the Kapuso Network. Completing this impressive casting coup is multi-awarded actor, Mr. Christopher de Leon.

Afternoon Prime will launch a romantic drama with a touch of fantasy on the first quarter of 2013. Entitled FOREVER, it boasts of a powerhouse cast led by Heart Evangelista, Geoff Eigenmann, and Ms. Gloria Romero. For GMA Telebabad the first quarter of 2013, will see the grand launch of Sen. Bong Revilla’s first soap on primetime tv, INDIO, another GMA Drama mega production of a historical-fiction-epic-fantasy soap. Of course, November this year marked the return of the well-loved and multi-awarded drama anthology, MAGPAKAILANMAN, hosted by no other than Ms. Mel Tiangco.

Call your preferred pay TV operator so subscribe!

Yung Ondoy noong 2009. That was the first time nangyari sa Maynila ang flash flood at just a span of 3 or 4 hours, bumaha na. It’s really because of the basura and clogged drainage.

GMA Pinoy TV brings back the award-winning drama anthology Magpakailanman to inspire the lives of the Kapuso viewers all over the world once more. It will be hosted by multi-awarded broadcast journalist Ms. Mel Tiangco.

Magpakailanman, an original concept and creation of the GMA Entertainment TV Group, initially ran from 2002 to 2007 and has twice been awarded the Best Drama Series category at the Catholic Mass Media Awards. It also garnered the 2008 and 2009 Anak TV Seal. Actor Noni Buencamino won the 2005 Asian TV Best Actor award and Actress Sunshine Dizon won the 2004 PMPC Star Awards for TV Best Actress award for their outstanding performances in the program. During its five-year run, the program, which was a consistent top-rater, inspired the lives of many Filipinos and promoted good family values to its viewers. Because of the growing clamour to revive the program, Magpakailanman returns to television but with new elements such as more in-depth investigation and dramatization of real-life inspired stories. The show will bring in Mel Tiangco’s broadcast journalism expertise in each story by not only presenting what happened in the story but also examine some aspects as why it can happen, how can it be prevented from happening again and what concrete moves or steps can be done for it not to occur again.

“I wanted to add some new elements into the show. I told the staff that they should put my elements, my persona in the show. I told them that they should put it into the context that I am Mel Tiangco. I am a news personality. I am a public servant… all these things should be incorporated in the show,” said Mel Tiangco.

Aside from merely telling and narrating the story, Mel Tiangco will take a more participative role in making each story not only inspiring and uplifting but also informative and interesting. This will be about “the real story behind the story.”

Thus, one can already perceive the new kind of stories that “Magpakailanman” will be delivering. Keeping the primary objective that the stories will be inspiring and should uplift the human spirit, the new stories of “Magpakailanman” will be provocative, exceptional, arresting and even sometimes sensational. Tiangco’s spiels and interviews will serve as the thread that will bring all these elements together.

GMA Entertainment TV’s AVP for Drama Redgie Acuna-Magno says Mel Tiangco remains to be the ideal host of the well-loved drama anthology. “There is really no better person to host the show except Mel Tiangco. She is already identified with the show and the show reflects her true persona. ” “Mel Tiangco is a multi-awarded journalist that delivers investigative and informative news and at the same time a woman with a soft spot and of substance that a lot of people can relate and look up to – a perfect combination for Magpakailanman’s new offering,” said Magno.

A new loveteam brings the biggest GMA kilig-romance series back to Kapusos! Originally topbilled by Dingdong Dantes and Tanya Garcia, “Sana Ay Ikaw Na Nga” returns afresh with Mikael Daez and Andrea Torres!

The plot and turn of events will surely keep the viewer at the edge of his seat as RJ Nuevas, who wrote My Beloved, is the writer of this 2001 remake.

A mother gives birth to her child while in deep coma. A hardworking, kind, loving woman who became an orphan early in life.

The love triangle of Lovi, Rocco Nacino, and Luis Alandy is relived sa series na ito and it will be a choice between Justin Ramirez (Rocco) and Dr. Celso Agustin (Luis) as to who Andrea will marry. She eventually chooses one of them, pero tragedy will create complications in their otherwise simple and happy lives. Karel Marquez who plays Dr. Sabrina Toress will also have a pivotal role in the story.
