provider to Taos. Attend on site and remote meetings with customer to gain a good understanding of the current patching strategies. Gather database information for each Linux database server to be patched. Versions range from 11.2.0.1 – 12.1.0.2. Prepare documentation with all information gathered. Create SOP with detailed steps for downloading and installing patches and related tools. Work with patching team to create and maintain patching runbook and related documentation.

SSN – Sr. Oracle DBA Nov 2012 – Nov 20141) RMAN Backup Project:

Installed Oracle 11g and configured ASM and RMAN databases. Created RMAN catalogs. Implemented RMAN backup reporting for weekly review, emails sent to Taos and SSN. Created training materials and performed training session for Taos NOC on the handling of RMAN backup failures.

2) Continuing support:Assisted the NOC with RMAN issues and when primary Taos DBA not available assisted with tickets. Setup oracle flashback and implemented block change tracking for incremental RMAN backups. Made modifications to weekly RMAN report to include time and space statistics for the BCT information.

Harmonic Inc. – Sr. Oracle DBA Jul 2013 – Jan 2016Research and correct licensing data inconsistencies between primitive Oracle license database, legacy MS SQL Server database, current MS SQL Server database, and Oracle ERP sales database. Create and execute scripts for data migration from older MS SQL Server database and Oracle primitive data to latest MS SQL Server database.

Work with field engineers to allocate licenses to customer organizations. Work with field engineers and factory personnel to resolve licensing issues. Create Tableau reports to be used by field engineers, sales, and support staff to view license and device information and to compare licenses in FNO with those sold (Oracle ERP). Tableau requires complexed queries and views in MS SQL Server.

Epocrates – Sr. Oracle DBA Aug 2012 - May 2013Performed production support for Epocrates Oracle databases. Performed Oracle upgrades from 11.2.0.1.0 to 11.2.0.3.5, and applied critical quarterly patches. Set up and installed Oracle for new servers for sandbox (upgrade testing), OEM, and ‘Gold Master’ – to be used for virtual machine setup. Installed and configured Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control 12c for monitoring. Served as 1 or 2 DBAs in the weekly on-call rotation. The sole Oracle DBA responsible for Human Resources PeopleSoft databases and application support for top insurance company. Provide production support (including 24x7x365 on-call) supporting 13 critical support databases. Manage database job scheduling, and database and PeopleSoft application monitoring using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid control and Unix CRON with UNIX shell scripting. Configure, maintained and tuned Oracle RMAN for database backups including interface to TSM. Deployed and tested backup jobs specific to RMAN catalog. Team Lead for DBA group responsible for consumer support databases. As the lead DBA provided production support (including 24x7 on-call) for IPG Americas division supporting 35 critical consumer support databases. Duties included facilitating weekly DBA meetings, managed on-call scheduling, DBA workloads and coordination of many complex long-term projects. Trained and mentored contract team members. Develop tools to monitor the DB/apps proactively and alert Remote DBA’s of problems both potential and immediate. Duties included installations and configuration of Oracle Databases 9.x and earlier.
