Pavithra is a 3 year old girl living in Kerala , she likes the colour yellow and loves to dress up. Pavithra’s favourite food is rice and if she were to have a farm she said she would love to grow beans.

These are some secondary source drawings that I did in different types of media, I choose to use draw the women because Pavithra likes dressing up and the women in the photo is wearing bright and colourful clothes.

Artist research

This is an artist research page. I choose Chuck Close because I wanted to create my final piece in a realistic way like chuck close has done.

Artist comparison

I made a comparison page to my final piece and the work of Chuck Close talking about how what techniques were the same and what ones were different.

Feedback

I received feedback from the school in Kerala telling me what was good and what could be improved in my final piece, this enabled me to go back and improve my work so that it could be better understood by the viewer. This is what they said.

‘There is defiantly quite a dark element to the picture of Pavithra and the ‘monster’ hands are interesting. It is a shame that this was not explored in greater detail as this feels unfinished. I am also unsure what the background represents as it does not seem to be connected with the brief. It would have been nice to draw out the bangles reference as that was a big part of Pavithra’s daily outfit’.

My final piece

This is my final piece , I have made it clear in this piece of her age by painting three of the beads yellow this also represents the fact that she likes the colour yellow. I have added in bangles and monster hands because she is afraid of them. The sari in the background represents how she likes to dress up and the pattern of the sari has beans in it to show that if she were to grow a farm she would grow beans.
