2018

Please Read

General InformationThe Community Education Program of Katy ISD is conducted for the benefit and enjoyment of community patrons. Classes are held on KISD campuses. Classes are offered for non-credit. Financial support for the program comes from the class fees. Payment for classes must, therefore, be received before students attend classes. Certificates of completion are issued for most classes. A minimum of 80% attendance is required to obtain a certificate of completion. Children are not to be brought to class. Classes will begin as scheduled without notification. No confirmation of enrollment is sent out and you will be notified only if the class is cancelled, or the schedule changes.

Age RequirementClasses are offered for ages 18 and up regardless of where they live.

Late FeesCommunity Education registration must be received three (3) business days prior to the first class meeting. If received later, a $10 late fee will be assessed.

Community EducationFor the past 33 years, Katy ISD has operated a community education program that

has grown to include almost 3000 participants per semester.

The purpose of Community Education is to provide the general public with learning opportunities. These opportunities include self-improvement, enrichment, recreation, and academic courses.

You are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to develop your interests, learn new skills and make new friends.

If you are interested in a course that is not being offered, send your suggestions to Community Education, Katy ISD, 6301 South Stadium Lane, Katy, TX 77494 or call 281-396-6365.

(except for vehicles with handicap designation) or painted red (fire zone).

Refund PolicyThe Community Education Program is funded solely from tuition. Once a class has made or is in progress, expenses for the teacher and materials are set. Therefore, the following procedures must be followed:

• For classes cancelled because of lack of enrollment, 100 percent of tuition will be refunded. • For students who withdraw from a class after registration and before the second class

meeting, 75 percent of the tuition will be refunded. • No refund will be given after the second class meeting (whether the student has attended or not). • Late fees are not refundable unless Katy Community Education cancels the class.

Request for a refund must be made by contacting Katy ISD Community Education, 281 396-6365. It normally takes two to three weeks to process a refund check. Credit card refunds can normally be processed in two to three working days of the request.

Returned ChecksA $30.00 service fee will be collected for each returned check.

Cancelled ClassesClasses cancelled due to conflicts with regular school activities will be rescheduled. If Katy ISD cancels regular school classes because of weather or other reasons, Community Education classes are cancelled also. We will make every effort to call you if your class is cancelled, but we must have an accurate phone number. If your day or evening number changes, please update it with us.

HolidaysCommunity Education classes will not be held during regular school holidays, which include: March 12-16 (Spring Break).
