Rules for Measuring Volume in a Graduated Cylinder

1. Place your graduated cylinder on a flat surface.

2. Get at eye-level with the graduated cylinder.

3.Read the bottom of the meniscus.DO NOT READ THE TOP OF THE WATER!!!

YOUR MEASUREMENT WILL BE WRONG!Lastly, include your unit. The unit for all

these problems will be milliliters (mL).
