Kay Jensen
A self taught potter exhibiting and potting full time from 1983 - 2004, with 36 of her works purchased by 24 public art bodies, including national, state and
regional collections throughout Australia and internationally.
Kay's work has been selected for exhibition in Australia, Europe, Asia and North America, winning 34 awards and prizes.
" Being able to return to pottery after a 12 year hiatus, I have created for this exhibition a new selection of work influenced by my relocation to the Far South Coast 14 years ago - the visual experience and sense of connection.
Though moving away from my focus on pit-firing in Melbourne, I decided my new wheelthrown forms and glazing technique would still reference aspects of my previous work ( hand-carving, lidded boxes, bottles, crackle and matt glazes ) but with a new lightness and colour. “
I would like to acknowledge the ongoing support of the BARRY aLLEN CORPORATION Kay Jensen
