Diamond tools have been used in the UK construction industryfor well in excess of four decades – and there have been reportsof early use as far back as the turn of the 20th century.Clearly this was before the introduction of laser welding andcomputer controlled production.

WCX WET CORE EXTENSIONS

� Always wear suitable PPE (head, hand, foot, ear, eye & breathing protection)� Ensure that you have the correct product for the material to be cut� Read all available safety advice and product recommended speed instructions carefully� Check that the machine is suitable for the task, and is in good working order� Inspect the drive spindle, flanges, water feed(s) and bearings where appropriate� Make certain that the blade arrow corresponds to the direction rotation of the

machine spindle� Only allow the blade fitment and machine operation to be carried out by a

competent person� Ensure product is in balance and running true, drive belts are tight and correct pulley

is selected� Use sufficient water to both sides of a wet blade – NEVER use a wet cut product dry� Regularly check for signs of undercutting, excessive wear, overheating or stress fractures� Remove the blade or core drill from the machine when not in regular use and during

transportation� Never introduce excessive side pressure on the diamond blade, or use for side grinding� Do not force a blade or core drill through the material but allow the product to “feed” cut � Discontinue use of a product that shows signs of overheating, stress cracks or not

running true� Do not attempt to cut materials that are outside the recommendations/specifications of

the blade� Do not use the blade without a drive pin if fitted to the machine

� If a blade is showing signs of excessive wear check for steel blank undercutting which willweaken the blade and cause segment loss in extreme cases

� If a blade is cutting slowly and/or sparking check for “glazing” of the diamonds. This canbe rectified by running the blade through a very abrasive material for a few moments to“open” the segment

� Stop cutting immediately if the blade starts to wobble or run eccentrically, or shows signsof stress cracks on segments or steel centre

� When drilling remove the debris from the core centre on reaching maximum depth
