Beginning in 6th grade, the students are challenged to think about what career field they are interested in and might be good at. The 7th grade students begin connect-ing school skills with work skills and take an interest inventory the links current interests to broad career clus-ters, ranking their interests levels from highest to low-est, corresponding to the 16 Texas Career Clusters. The 8th grade students recently completed on on-line career interest inventory that linked their current interests with job inventory types. The aware-ness of the strong relationship between personality type/ca-reer compatibility and voca-tional satisfaction will be very beneficial in the selection of a career path. The 7th and 8th grade

students recently attended a Career Fair held in their new Junior High gym. Parent volunteers and community

members attended and partici-pated by presenting informa-tion related to their current occupation. They shared the educational levels required to work in their career and explained the type of work available in their field. Amy Lingo represented Pinnacle Bank and the area of finance. Alonzo Lopez, parent volun-teer, presented information on his business, Pro Rig Prod-ucts, and discussed careers in the gas and oil production field. Mike Holland, owner of the T-Shirt Factory, shared information related to Manu-facturing, discussing personal skills he utilized as owner of four successful manufactur-ing businesses. Joel Henslee, owner of Quality Brakes and Alignment shared informa-tion on Business Management and Administration, as well as careers related to automo-tive repair. Matthew Mueller, representing the Brazos Area Health Education Center, discussed careers within the medical field and distributed copies of Texas H.O.T Jobs, publication detailing medical professions and careers avail-able in Texas. Rusty Smith

of the Johnson County Farm Services Bureau presented information on careers in Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources. Lt. Pat Jones and Sgt. Gene Geheb of the Keene PD teamed up with Dana Ames, Keene ISD SRO Of-ficer to share information on career in Law Enforcement. Michael Agee of Southwestern Adventist College presented information on careers within the field of communication. With the wide variety of career fields represented, the students have a better under-standing of career options and possibilities for their future. To help prepare for their

future careers, Noemi Vela of Tarrant County College, Lemarian Wallace of Hill College and Nolan Shockey of Southwestern Adventist University each gave pre-sentations on career tracks available at their individual schools. They encouraged the students to study hard, take college preparatory classes in high school, and apply for grants and scholarships to fund college. The students enjoyed the presentations, hand-out, and the opportunity to learn more about the world of work beyond high-school and college.

Chisholm Trail Parkway is a 27.6-mile toll road that will extend from Tarrant County to Johnson County, starting from Fort Worth’s central busi-ness district at Interstate 30 and continuing to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. The NTTA (North Texas Tollway Authority) began initial construction in April 2010 on Section 2C, one of the northernmost sections of the project, located in Fort Worth near Union Pacific Railroad’s Davidson Yard. In March 2010, the Texas Department of Transportation began construction of Section 3A, a $117 million American Recovery and Reinvestment Act project. Section 3A con-sists of local access improve-ments to Interstate 20/State Highway 183 (Southwest Boulevard) at CTP. Construc-tion of the remaining project sections is underway. The entire CTP project is anticipat-ed to open to traffic in spring 2014.“Once the Chisholm Trail

Parkway is completed” proj-ects former Keene City mayor Roy Robinson, “people who work anywhere in southwest Forth Worth – and there’s a lot of industry there – will be able to live in Cleburne, Keene, Joshua or somewhere in this area where the housing costs are less, the tax rates are lower, etc. They will be able to commute very quickly into southwest Fort Worth without

having to go through fighting traffic on interstate 35 and all that. And so, in the next 10 years, you can expect dramat-ic growth in the populations of Cleburne, Keene, Alvarado, Joshua, Burleson, Rio Vista and all of these little cities around here. They will grow very quickly.” NTTA representatives Karen

Anderson, Senior Commu-nications Specialist and Lyle Clark, Project Manager for Granite Construction were guest speakers at the recent Keene Chamber of Commerce luncheon held on January 31, 2013 in the fellowship hall of the Keene Seventh-day-Adventist Church. After a formal introduction

by Keene Chamber President, Keith Jilge, Karen Ander-son informed the Chamber members that “The NTTA is a government entity - we are sanctioned by the State of Texas - we’re not a private company. So, I am happy to say that everybody who pays the tolls to drive on the Tollway is a member of the NTTA. The toll that you pay goes towards the maintenance of our roadways and the construction of new roadways, including the Chisholm Trail Parkway which is coming very near you very soon. So, I’m excited to say that! “We have been in existence”

added Karen, “in some form or another since 1953 start-

ing with the Texas Turnpike Authority. That was when the DFW Turnpike was built be-tween Dallas and Fort Worth. Since then we have evolved into the North Texas Tollway Authority and the idea is that we wanted toll pay in North Texas on North Texas roads to stay here in North Texas for projects that serve the region. “So that’s why we’re here”

stated Karen, “and we’re happy to be a part of this community. We are your neighbor and we want to make this a partner experience for you. One of the best ways that you can enjoy a toll way in a region is with a toll tag. That gives you lower toll rates than if you get a bill by the mail, and it gives you a lot of convenient options.”“I am the Project Manager

for Granite Construction” stat-ed Lyle Clark as he introduced himself to the Keene Cham-ber. He went on to elaborate on the details of the project as well as the complexities and challenges facing Granite

Construction in the building process of the “Section 6” portion of the Chisholm Trail Parkway Corridor. “Granite Construction is the

company that NTTA has con-tracted with to construct the Section 6 portion of the Chish-olm Trail Parkway Corridor,” Clark informed the Chamber members. “The Corridor itself is approximately 28 miles in length, and it stretches from Interstate 30 just south of downtown Fort Worth – at ap-proximately Summit where it ties in - and stretches down crossing over the Davidson Railroad Yard in South Fort Worth. It then will cross over Interstate 20 and State High-way 183, and then proceed South to FM 1187. FM 1187 is Rendon Crowley Road and that’s the

North end of section 6. There are actually 5 more sections north of us that make up the other 15 miles. Our stretch is 13.1 miles and it stretches from FM 1187 down to US 67 just on the North side of Cleburne and ties in at Nolan River Road. TXDOT just

recently completed the new bridge over 67 at Nolan River, and we’ll tie in to the North base of that roadway. “The southernmost section

is a little different than all the other sections” added Clark, “All of the other sections were

what we refer to as ‘bid-build.’ They were selected by NTTA as the best bid to construct the project. Section 6 is what’s referred to as a ‘design-build’ project. That means that the design was not complete on this project. They identified where the roadway was going to go and what kind of traffic count they wanted it to carry. But they hadn’t identified any of the specifics like how much concrete was going to be involved, what the overall pavement section was going to be involved, what the bridge links would look like, etc. That was all to be determined by whoever was successful in bidding Section 6. “So the ‘design-build’ project

is a little bit different” ex-plains Clark, “because there is more risk that is put on to the contractors than on the other 5 sections that are under con-struction. We were not only responsible for the construction as they were, but we were also responsible for the design and for relocating all of the utilities that were in conflict and on this project. This includes AT&T, Encore transmission lines, Tra-vis Electric transmission lines, Chesapeake Gas lines and

Pecan Gas lines. There were 26 private utility companies that had to be coordinated with for relocations or adjustments. Out of those 26 there were a total of 99 different utilities that have to be relocated. And that all has to be taken into account during our design phase to make sure that what we design to go out and build is no longer in conflict with where the utilities are, or else we have to adjust the utilities. And one of the Encore trans-mission lines was a direct feed from the Comanche Nuclear Power Plant. So that can only be taken out of service when ERCOT gives them the au-thority to take it out of service. “The other item that I find

interesting” added Clark, “is that Atmos Gas has a 36” gas line that some of you may re-member a couple of years ago was drilled into by a company out of Oklahoma and I believe it killed two of their employ-ees working. But that 36” gas line, Atmos has told us carries all of the final used natural gas to the Metroplex. The only thing left that they have to do with that gas is to put the smell in before it goes to your house. And so, for them their

urgency and their protection of that line goes way far and above what you may expect - and you’ll see how we have taken care of that - because they are still in the process of adjusting those lines. Some of those lines can only be shut down in either March-April or October-November – all based on weather and usage. So there are no designated days. It’s all dependent on weather forecast and how much usage there is and the demand that is on those lines.” Clark used a power-point

map presentation to illustrate his oral presentation points. The presentations were con-cluded with a question and answer session open to the the Council members.According to NTTA the tolls

collected from the Chisholm Trail Parkway will pay for:

Building new toll roads • Maintaining existing • toll roads for safety and maintenance Regional non-tolled and • municipal projects 24/7 roadway customer • service Toll roads→economic • development→more jobsNTTA would also like •

Reporting Officer T. Foster #507On Tuesday night, January

22, 2013, I, Officer Foster, observed this lone vehicle I believed going faster than the posted 50 MPH west-bound in the 3400 block of US Highway 67. Vehicle was confirmed speeding 64 in a 50 mile per hour zone with front moving radar unit 2723. I turned around catching up to this vehicle when I turned on the red/blue lights and this car came to a stop westbound in the 100 block of US Highway 67 near Spur 102. I explained the reason for stop to the driver and he said he thought it was still 60.The driver was not able to

provide the financial respon-sibility card for this car. I ran the driver’s Texas CDL to find that he had a single Capias Pro Fine warrant out of Hutchins Police Department for fail-ing to drive in a Single Lane of Traffic. Officer Krieger arrived on the scene to assist. Upon confirmation of the Hutchins PD warrant Gary L. Robb was arrested and placed into the rear of unit 66.Officer Krieger did the

inventory and this car was placed into the Keene PD impound yard. Mr. Robb was placed into KPD Jail for the single Hutchins PD warrant. In conclusion, this case is closed due to an adult arrest. Citation# 66004673 was is-sued to Mr. Robb for Speeding 64/50 and FMFR and will be forwarded over to the City of Keene Municipal Court for any future prosecution.

Reporting Officer: Sgt. G. Geheb #505On this date, I, Cpl. Shelton

and Det. Felton went to 403B Wells Ct to serve a felony warrant on a Gregory Hooper. I and Det. Felton went to the front door and Cpl. Shelton went around to the back. We made contact with Amber King and told her about the warrant and asked if Gregory was at the resident and we were told no. We told her that we needed to come in and look. Ms. King was hesitant but stepped out of the door-way and let us in. Just as we entered, Cpl.

Shelton said that Hooper had crawled out the back window and he had him detained on the ground. We went around to assist him and after we handcuffed him we then went back inside and placed Amber King under arrest for Hinder-ing Apprehension. Ms. King was taken to Keene PD and then transferred to JCLEC.

Reporting Officer T. Foster #507On Thursday morning, Janu-

ary 24, 2013, at approximately 6:10 am, I, Officer Foster, was stopped in the 400 block of US Highway 67 nearest the median facing westbound monitoring traffic when I saw this vehicle I believed going faster than the posted 50 MPH speed limit. This vehicle was catching up

fast to another vehicle. Once the first vehicle passed the radar antenna in unit 66 the vehicle I believed going faster than the posted 50 MPH speed limit which was operating on the inside traffic lane aligned

with the radar unit 2723 was confirmed speeding 63/50 with front stationary radar eastbound in the 200 block of US Highway 67 east of Spur 102 and near S. Eastern Street. I turned emergency red/blue

lights on and this white Ford F-150 pickup came to a stop eastbound in the 400 block of US Highway 67 east of S. Eastern Street. I tried explain-ing to the driver the reason for his being stopped. I immedi-ately realized that once the driver gave no response that he could not speak English. The passenger leaned over and told me that he speaks Eng-lish. The passenger handed me his Texas Driver’s License. The passengers Texas DL identified him to be a Rudolfo Rios out of Cleburne, Texas. I asked Mr. Rios if he would

ask the driver for his name and information. Mr. Rios told me that the driver told him that his name is Sergio Ra-mon-Ramirez. Mr. Rios also informed me that Mr. Ramirez told him that he does not have a driver’s license. Neither the driver, nor Mr. Rios could find the financial responsibility card on this truck. I ran them both finding that

the passenger was clear. The driver, Mr. Ramirez, showed on the computer in unit 66 to not have a driver’s license. I ran Mr. Ramirez through KPD and dispatcher radioed that Mr. Ramirez shows to not have a driver’s license. Once I returned to the pickup

they handed me a financial re-sponsibility card that had ex-pired in 9/2012. Mr. Ramirez was placed under arrest and placed into unit 66. I ex-

plained to Mr. Rios that even though he has a valid driver’s license the financial respon-sibility card shows that this pickup has no coverage and therefore it would be towed to the Keene Police Department. Mr. Rios’ mother arrived and they departed. Hopps Wrecker towed the truck. Mr. Ramirez was placed into KPD Jail for instantered citation#66004684 for No DL. In conclusion, this case is closed due to an adult arrest. Citation number 66004684 will be forwarded over to the City of Keene Mu-nicipal Court for any future prosecutions.

SEE YOU ALL SOON!

covetousness in their hearts are not aware of it. It has gained upon them imperceptibly. And unless

is an entire change they will perish with the world. God has lent them means. It is not their own; but God has made them his stewards. And because of this, they call it their own, and hoard it up. But oh, how quick, when the prospering hand of God is removed from them, is it all snatched away

the gospel. Oh, how weak and frail is man. The Bible speaks of occurrences that will soon bring the loftiness and pride of man down, and the pride of man humbled. Kings and nobles, rich and poor, alike shall bow, and the withering plagues from God shall fall upon them. Pride is something that separates us from our God and hinders our prayers from being heard. We need to humble ourselves before our Lord and ever seek repentance for our wrongs with a meek spirit, and a willingness to give up anything that separates us from Him.

Above are 16 verses of holy scripture. If that is too much to study in one day, pace yourself and look up 3 to 4 per day in your Bible. God bless you as you study!

We will be approaching a study on prophecy soon on the topic of “What to expect in last days”. If you would like to have more information please contact us.

own a Red Ford Ranger. Mr. Gibson stated it would cost approximately $400.00 to fix the damages to the mailboxes. Mr. Gibson filled out a witness statement form and restitution form for the damages. There was damage to the metal pole. Further investigation showed

that Wanda Gaston does own a Red Ford Ranger and that a new address for her was 3034 CR 805B #2. Upon arrival at 3034 CR 805B #2, I located a Red Ford Ranger Texas license plate AC54974. The hood of the vehicle was still hot consistent with someone recently driving it. On the front hood of the

truck, was white paint scraped across the passenger side of the hood, consistent with the bent mailbox door. There were a few dents in the passenger side of the front bumper, which was consistent with the rusted pole of the mailboxes. Officer Foster and I made contact with Wanda Gaston at the front door. Wanda Gaston stated that she had been asleep all night. I asked Wanda Gas-ton where her son (Derek Gas-ton (W/M DOB: 11/05/1988) was, and she stated she didn’t know he left early that night. I contacted Wanda Gaston daughter Aliesha Gaston (W/F DOB: 03/24/1990), who also stated that she hadn’t seen Derek Gaston. Aliesha Gaston stated that we could come into the residence and check to see if Derek Gaston was in the residence. While walking through the

house I noticed the back door was cracked open. When I opened the back door I heard someone running away from the residence. I looked around the residence but was unable to located Derek Gaston. I advised Officer Foster that he had ran out the back door. I decided to drive around and attempt to locate Derek Gaston. While driving down CR

805B, I was flagged down by a resident, and she advised that there was a male subject behind her residence. I saw a male subject that appeared to be Derek Gaston fleeing into the field behind the residence. I yelled for Derek Gaston to stop running or he would be charged, be he failed to stop and continued to flee. Offi-cer Foster and I continued to canvas the area for the male subject but were unable to locate him. I then cleared the call and completed the report.

Reporting Officer: J. Abrantes #513On January 26, 2013, I was

dispatched to the Keene Police Department lobby in reference to a burglary of habitation. Upon arrival I met with Rigo-berto Casas who advised that on January 14, 2013, someone stole his television from his apartment at 1009 W. Fourth St. Mr. Casas stated that he was away on Christmas Vacation when the incident occurred. Mr. Casas advised that his

roommate was moving out

of the residence and had left the door unlocked. When the roommate came back in the evening the television was gone. Mr. Casas advised the television was a rental from Aaron’s Rental. Copies of the rental agreement are attached to the report together with a restitution form and victims statement. The stolen item is a 55”

LG LED 1080p, total cost of $1,649.99.

Reporting Officer: D. Martin #515On 01/28/13 I, Officer

Martin, and Lt. Jones were dispatched to the police de-partment to meet with a com-plainant. We arrived on scene and met with Joyce Jones. Ms. Jones stated when her mother, Leonia Golden, got the mail from 405 Pecan, Ms. Jones residence; she found Ms. Jones’ W2, from Fort Worth ISD, was torn in half. Ms. Jones stated there was

other mail in the mailbox that was not touched. I advised Ms. Jones to contact the postal service to find out if it had been damaged before it was in her mailbox, or if they would look to see if the other half was in their possession. Ms. Jones wrote a witness state-ment, which was attached to this report.

Reporting Officer. Sgt. G. Geheb #505On this date I was dis-

patched to 202 S. Eastern for suspicious circumstance.

Upon arrival I met with Ms. Moonyhan who said that she has received phone calls from someone stating they have sent her a check and wanted her to deposit it and then send her some money back in order to receive a larger amount. Ms. Moonyhan said that she did receive a check for $2000 and took it to back and was told that if was not any good. I told Ms. Moonyhan that this is a scam and when they call again to tell them you have contacted police. I told her if this continues to happen then to call us back. After getting her information I then cleared.

Reporting Officer T. Foster #507On Friday night, January

18, 2013, at approximately 10:30 pm, I, Officer Foster, observed a silver Chevy Cavalier car operating with no license plate light on rear area westbound in the 4000 block of US Highway 67. This car stopped west of CR 807. The Texas temporary plate number was 48N7968, VIN# 1G1JF5247Y7406207 on this silver 2000 Chevy Cavalier 4 door car. I explained the reason for stop to the driver. The driver handed me her Texas ID card. The driver’s Texas ID card identified her to be a Wanda Bernice Cole. Ms. Cole then handed me the bill of sale that showed she bought this car back on December 27, 2012. Ms. Cole told me that she had not placed any financial responsibility on this car and that she is going to take it back. I ran this driver to find that she did not have a driver’s license. I also ran her through Keene PD Dispatch and dispatcher radioed she found no driver’s license for Ms. Cole. The return on the car showed that the insur-ance status was unconfirmed and the insurance carrier was Driver’s Insurance Company, Policy: 1049592, Policy Ef-fective date: 5/4/2011, Policy Expiration date: 5/4/2012. Ms. Cole told me that she is trying to get to work at the Town Hall Estates tonight. Ms. Cole was extremely polite

and so instead of placing her under arrest. Ms. Cole’s car was inventoried and towed to the Keene Police Department where it was placed into KPD Impound yard. Ms. Cole was handed the pink copy of the impound form and she was is-sued citation# 66004665 for a written warning for no license plate light. She was cited for her having No Driver’s License and FMFR. Ms. Cole was given a courtesy transport near Sonic so she could step out and walk into her job and I cleared this call. In conclusion, this case is

closed due to the vehicle be-ing placed into impound for Ms. Cole operating it without a valid driver’s license and her not being arrested. Ms. Cole thanked me for being so nice to her and she walked a short distance into her job. Citation# 66004665 will be forwarded over to the City of Keene Mu-nicipal Court for any future prosecution.

Reporting Officer T. Foster #507On Saturday morning, Janu-

ary 19, 2013, at approximately 1:41 am, I, Officer Foster, and Cpl. Shelton, were dispatched to assist Cleburne Officer Cody Bosher ID# 213 that had gotten a call on a report of a Paul Kenneth Story telling a citizen in the City of Cleburne that he might hurt himself. Mr. Story was at 411 N. Fairview Street # 27. Upon our arrival we met with

Mr. Story. Mr. Story handed me his United States Marine pocket knife and I held it until we cleared. Officer Bosher was the lead. I asked questions to Mr. Story already tried to hurt himself and he again re-plied “no.” I asked Mr. Story if he needed to be taken to a mental facility and he said no. Mr. Story told officers that

earlier he thought he had seen his girl kiss another man. He now believes he was mistaken and feels better at this time. Mr. Story was asked if he has any future plans to hurt him-self and he replied no he does not. The knife was handed to the female friend living at this

mobile home for safe keeping and we all cleared this call. In conclusion, this case is closed due to officers not hearing Mr. Story state he wanted to kill himself and that he stated to officers that he had not told anybody he wanted to kill or hurt himself and he refused to be taken to a mental facility.

Reporting Officer: Cpl. G. Shelton #510On this date and time, Com-

munication Supervisor Barber informed me of a Raymond Covert who had been con-stantly calling the PD request-ing to speak to the Chief of Police regarding his incarcera-tion at the Keene Jail in 2009. She informed Raymond

several times that the Chief was not in and forwarded him to the Chiefs voicemail. Raymond sounded as if he was very intoxicated. She asked for me to speak to him if he called back. Raymond did call back and I spoke with him for 30 minutes. He called again demanding to speak to the Chief. I informed him if he continued to call the PD today or Sunday, which charges of phone harassment may be filed on him. He stopped calling.

Reporting Officer: Lt. P. Jones #504On the above date and time,

Cpl. Shelton and I responded to a welfare concern at 1 Blue Star Dr. A 911 call was received from this location by JCSO. Upon our arrival, we made contact with Robert Pikes. he saw her boyfriends vehicle on the property and that she had a restraining order against her boyfriend. Upon our arrival, we

knocked on apartment G and it was answered by Russel Meyke. We asked for Stacy and he stated she was not there. He allowed us inside the residence and we verified she was not there. A check on Mr. Meyke revealed there were no warrants or wants, nor any protective order or restraining order on file involving him. Upon verifying that Stacy

was not there, and that there was not any problems going on, we cleared the scene. At about 2200 hours, we were again dispatched back to this location. This time, it was reported that an assault had occurred and the actor had left the scene. As I was leaving the police station to respond to this call, I observed Mr. Meyke walking toward me from across the street. Mr. Meyke advised me that

he had just left the apartment and wanted to report that Stacy (who was later identi-fied as Stacy Jobe) had arrived back at the apartment and that a disturbance had occurred between them. I could see spots of blood on Mr. Meyke’s face. Mr. Meyke stated Stacy arrived back at the apartment and demanded that he get his property and leave. Mr. Meyke stated that he had until Wednesday to leave. Mr. Meyke stated that Stacy

attempted to assault him and he put up his hands to defend himself. Ms. Meyke stated that he had a glass in his hand and that it hit Stacy and injured her. Mr. Meyke stated it caused her to bleed but that he did not intentionally hit her. Mr. Meyke stated that the blood on his face was not his blood, it was Stacy’s blood. Meanwhile, Corporal Shelton

responded to the apartment and spoke to the victim, Stacy Jobe, and I met with him there while Officer Foster stood by with Mr. Meyke at the Keene Police Station. The Keene Ambulance also was dispatched due to Stacy’s injuries. Cpl. Shelton stated there was probable cause that Mr. Meyke had assaulted and injured Stacy. We took pictures of Stacy and of the crime scene. There were drops of blood inside the residence and a broken glass and spilled noodles and a bowl on the floor. The Keene Ambu-lance was attending to Stacy and later transported Stacy from the scene. After taking photographs of the scene, Cpl. Shelton and I returned to the Police Station and placed Mr. Meyke under arrest for assault-family violence. I took photographs of him at the time of the arrest. Cpl. Shelton transported Mr. Meyke to the Johnson County Jail.

Reporting Officer: Lt JonesOn 012113 at around 0224

hours, I was on patrol on FM

2280 north of FM 3048 when I observed a vehicle with a defective license plate light southbound on FM 2280. As I observed the vehicle further, it turned west on FM 3048. After passing Dorothy Drive, the vehicle swerved over the solid white shoulder stripe. I activated the emergency

lights of patrol unit 65 and the vehicle pulled over on FM 3048 near CR 805B. Imme-diately, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot from the scene. Shortly after, the passenger exited the vehicle and also ran away on foot. Both subjects ran south on

CR 805B into the woods. Cpl. Shelton responded to assist and located the passenger on CR 805B near CR 704 and he was taken into custody and detained at the Keene Police Station. He was identified as John Crown. He was intoxi-cated, but cooperative. Mr. Crown identified the driver as Josue Sandoval and stated that they both were returning to Keene from Burleson. Mr. Crown also referred to Josue as “Jersey” since he is from New Jersey. Mr. Crown stated he and Josue are both students at the local university. Cpl. Shelton and I searched

the area but could not locate Josue at this time. I also ob-tained Josue’s phone number from Mr. Crown. I called his phone but did not get an an-swer. Hopps Wrecker Service was called to the scene to im-pound the vehicle. The vehicle showed to be registered to Jonathan Amaro. We learned the Mr. Amaro lived at 113B Magnolia Street in Keene. Cpl. Shelton and I then went

to the residence of Mr. Amaro to see if Josue might be there, and to see if Mr. Amaro knew where his vehicle was. Upon making contact with Mr. Am-aro, we determined the Josue was not at this residence. Mr. Amaro stated that yesterday evening he had loaned his vehicle to “Jersey.” When I asked Mr. Amaro is Jersey is Josue Sandoval he indicated that he was. Mr. Amaro stated that he

loaned his vehicle to Josue Sandoval so that Josue could drive to where he stayed. Mr. Amaro stated that Josue resides at 101 N. Old Betsy, apartment #2. We advised Mr. Amaro of the events of this traffic stop and that his vehicle was at the Keene PD impound. We then left Mr. Amaro’s

residence and attempted to lo-cate Josue at the address given to us by Mr. Amaro. Upon our arrival, we observed a subject, believed to be Josue Sandoval, run from this area on foot southbound. Again we tried to locate him

in the area south and west of this address, including Old Betsy road, Oakwood Street, and Rosedale Street. But he evaded us again. Cpl. Shelton did locate a medicine contain-er with a prescription in the name of Jonathan Amaro. We then cleared this call after not

locating Josue Sandoval. I returned to the Keene

Police Department and spoke with Mr. Crown. Mr. Crown cooperated by providing further details about Mr. Sandoval and agreed to give a statement about this incident. He agreed to return to the Keene Police Station at 1900 hours. Mr. Crown was issued a citation for public intoxica-tion and he was released to his residence at 100 West Hill-crest in Keene at around 0600 hours. At 1900 hours, I met with

Mr. Crown at the police sta-tion. At this time I asked Mr. Crown if he would provide a written statement to assist in the criminal prosecution in this case, and he agreed. Mr. Crown wrote a voluntary statement identifying Josue Sandoval as the driver of the vehicle that fled on foot. When the statement was complete, Mr. Crown left the station. I then contacted Mr. Amaro on the phone and asked him if he would be willing to give me a written statement that he had loaned his vehicle to Josue Sandoval for the purpose of assisting in this criminal case. Mr. Amaro agreed and met me at the Keene Police Station at around 1940 hours. At this time, Mr. Amaro provided a written statement to this fact. I returned his medication to

him at this time. Mr. Amaro stated that he had attempted to call Josue Sandoval several times today but Josue was not answering his phone. After writing the statement, Mr. Amaro left the police station. Based on the information obtained from both of these subjects, I believe there is sufficient probable cause to seek a warrant for the arrest of Josue Sandoval for Evading Arrest of Detention. Investiga-tion to continue.

Reporting Officer: C. Krieger #511On 01/21/2013, I, Officer

Krieger, and Lt. Jones, were dispatched to an intoxicated subject located at the entrance of FunTown RV. Dispatch ad-vised the vehicle was a Dodge Durango and the subject was out of the vehicle. Dispatch also advised an off-duty of-ficer had reported the incident. I arrived and did not find any-thing in the area of FunTown RV. I noticed a vehicle with its hazard lights on about 1/2 mile west of FunTown RV. I arrived and observed the

Dodge Durango with another vehicle behind. The second car was the off-duty officer. I began to speak to the officer

and found out the reason for the call. The officer stated the driver of the Durango was weaving between the lines and drove into the other lane. I spoke with the driver about

the incident. The driver stated he had vehicle problems and did admit to having an alco-holic beverage earlier at din-ner. I conducted SFST and did not receive any clues to his intoxication. The driver also stated he was on medication, but stated the problems were because the vehicle’s power steering was to blame. The driver’s mother arrived and she escorted him to Terry’s Tires to leave the vehicle. I cleared the call with an of-ficer’s report.

Reporting Officer: Sgt. G. Geheb #505On this date I was dispatched

to Dr. Rusk’s office for a suspicious call. I met with Dr. Rusk who said that a man named Alex called their Cedar Ridge Apartment line asking to speak with the maintenance person. Dr. Rusk said when he told the man they didn’t have one that they contracted the work out he seemed to get upset. Dr. Rusk said that the man told him that he was contracted through Johnson County Electric. Dr. Rusk said he told the man that he would call the electric and verify and the man got angry saying that he didn’t have the time for this and he had 9 other jobs and hung up. Dr. Rusk said that the number he called in on was blocked. I told Dr. Rusk that I would make a report in case we have other incidents. I then cleared.

Reporting Officer: Cpl. G. Shelton #510On 01-24-13 about 9:30 am,

Officers were dispatched to a welfare concern at 1001 Jenny. It was reported by a Joshua Counselor, Kim Hallmark, 817-426-7500 that a student had received a text from Jamie Evans that he had a knife and was saying good-bye. Officers, after arriving at Jenny St., were informed that Jamie was doing community service at Public Works. The director of Public Works was informed and we spoke to Jamie. He stated he did not send a text and did not want to hurt himself or others. The female student who stated she received the text had deleted the messages without showing them to anyone.

Reporting Officer: Sgt. G. Geheb. #505

On this date I was dispatched to 112 W. First for a possible disturbance. Dispatch advised that female had an argument with husband and wanted to leave. Upon arrival I met with both parties who said that they have been having problems and today’s argu-ment was it. Mrs. Lindsey said that she wanted to leave but her husband wouldn’t let her go. I told her that she could leave but I couldn’t decide what items she could take. Mrs. Lindsey grabbed some clothes. After getting both of their information Mrs. Lind-sey walked away and I then cleared.

Reporting Officer: Sgt. G. Geheb #505On this date I and Cpl. G.

Shelton were dispatched to 117 W. Third St. for a welfare check on Marshall Cogdill. Dispatch advised that they received a call from the KISD SRO Ames saying that there was a male subject at the residence without food or heat. Upon arrival the male in question wasn’t at home but we were able to speak with the subject’s wife, Myrtis Cogdill, and her son, Bryan Pierce. She stated that her husband Marshall, was in Cleburne and everything was ok. She did advise that they were splitting up and he would be moving to Cleburne. There was a por-table Dearborn heater running and the residence did have a fire place, however it was not lit. After getting information we then cleared.

Reporting Officer: Cpl. G. Shelton #510On 01-24-13 about 3pm, I

was dispatched to 902 Spring Creek at the request of Fire Chief M. Gillin. Upon arrival, he advised me that a Leslie Mathis had started a small fire to burn twigs and brush that had got out of control. The fire burned a fence and it spread to an adjoining property. The fire burned a trampoline at the property on CR 805. Leslie did not have a burn permit and believed he was not in the county. He did not attempt to call anyone to find out if he was in the city limits. He was issued a citation #60003207 for burning w/o a permit. He stated he would contact the owners of the trampoline to make restitution.

Reporting Officer: D. Martin #515 On 01/24/13 I, Officer Martin

and, Officer Krieger went to 511 E. Oakdale #41, in

regards to an illegal burn that Keene Fire was dispatched to. We arrived on scene and ob-served a small fire in a fire pit, but we did not observe anyone outside with the fire. We made contact with Mr. Moseley, who stated his wife had started the fire, and then left. We advised Mr. Moseley he needed to put the fire out, and we disregarded Keene Fire. Mr. Moseley extinguished the fire and we cleared the scene.

Reporting Officer: D. Martin #515On 01/24/13 I, Officer Mar-

tin, and Officer Krieger were dispatched to Trak Trader in regards to two men loading equipment. We arrived on scene and made contact with Gregory Braswell and Phillip Delgado. Mr. Braswell, the owner of the business, who stated he and Mr. Delgado, an employee, were unloading a truck, but thanked us for checking on the business. We cleared the scene.

Reporting Officer: D. Martin #515On 01/24/13 I, Officer Mar-

tin, was informed by dispatch about a impound release. I went to get the car from the impound lot and pulled the white four door Cadillac to the front of the building. I turned the engine off, got out of the vehicle and shut the door. I had Mr. Robb check the ve-hicle and sign the release pa-perwork. Mr. Robb stated he needed a copy of some of his paperwork, so he went inside to talk with dispatch. From inside the jail I could hear Mr. Robb speaking very loudly at dispatch about his car. I went into the lobby where Mr. Robb stated I had locked his keys in his car. I stated I was sorry but he did not need to be yelling, and we stepped outside. I ad-vised Mr. Robb I could unlock his vehicle for him. Officer Krieger came outside to assist. I attempted to have Mr. Robb sign a unlock waiver, but he refused and became very loud, and was claiming racial profil-ing. Mr. Robb refused to sign the wavier in case of damage. Mr. Robb was recording this incident on his cell phone. I contacted the supervisor on call, Chief Alberti, who stated to go ahead and unlock the door. We unlocked the car door and released it to Mr. Robb. This incident was partially recorded by Officer Krieger and me.

Martin #515On 01/24/13 I, Officer Mar-

tin, and Officer Krieger were dispatched to Quick N Save in regards to a burglary alarm. The alarm company advised that it was a glass breakage alarm. We arrived on scene with Officer Foster. We ob-served the Quick N Save store clerk outside sitting on the curb, and no glass was broken. The clerk stated she did not know why the alarm went off but everything was ok. I observed no signs of criminal activity, and we cleared the scene.

dispatched to 2221 FM 2280 in reference to a business alarm at Disability Help. Dispatch advised the address that was given was for Royal Pizza. Upon arrival I checked the front door and found it to be unlocked. I then entered the building and I started to check all the other doors. First 3 doors were locked, the fourth door opened and two females stepped out. The females were identified as Yuri V. Perez and Winter A. Hunter. Miss Perez advised that Miss Hunter entered the wrong alarm code. Miss Perez advised the office was new and it was an an-swering center. Once I verified everything was okay I cleared with nothing further to report.

Reporting Officer: J. Abrantes #513On January 25, 2013, I was

dispatched to the area of Eastern and Oakdale in refer-ence to an abandoned vehicle. Complainant advised that a maroon Mitsubishi was on the road way facing the wrong side and she almost hit it twice. Upon arrival I observed the vehicle at the 300 block of E. Oakdale next to several apartments. I checked the first apartment and a female identified as Chelsea Cogdill advised the vehicle was her’s. I asked Miss Cogdill to move the vehicle and she advised she would right away. The vehicle LP# DN8T671 was moved before I left the scene.

Reporting Officer: J. Abrantes #513On January 25, 2013, I was

dispatched to 16 Ray St in ref-erence to a suspicious person. Dispatch advised that com-plainant stated that there was a white pickup truck at the driveway of that residence and no one was supposed to be

there. Dispatch also advised that two white males were by the pickup truck. Upon arrival I met with

James B. Gibson, who advised he was there to return a re-frigerator to Aaron’s Rental. Mr. Gibson stated that Rob-ert Mason was the owner of the trailer and he was in jail at the moment. Mr. Gibson stated that he was sent by Mr. Mason’s mother, identified as Patricia Bostick, whom has been paying for the trailer for the past 17 months. I made contact with Mrs. Bostick via cell phone. Mrs. Bostick stated that her son is at the Johnson County jail and she did not want to continue to pay for the refrigerator if no one was going to be living there. Mrs. Bostick advised that she

lives in Portland, Texas and was not able to drive to Keene to take care of this matter and that’s why she sent Mr. Gibson. Mr. Gibson is also supposed to change all the locks in the residence. While on scene Mrs. Mason arrived with her father, identified as Timothy Spurlock, to move her property out of the resi-dence. Mrs. Mason advised that this was her residence and that Mrs. Bostick was in fact paying the bills. Mrs. Mason stated that the residence is in her name and her husband’s name and she did not want Mr. Gibson to change the locks. Mr. Gibson stated that he

had already taken out the back door lock but he did agree to put the new lock in and give Mrs. Mason the new keys. A routine check of all the parties involved showed Mrs. Mason to have multiple warrants for her arrest out of Cleburne PD. Once I received verbal con-firmation Mrs. Mason was ar-rested. Mr. Spurlock remained on scene with Mr. Gibson removing Mrs. Mason prop-erty out of the residence and waiting for Aaron’s Rental to arrive. Adventist Junior High girls basketball team for winning their first championship game on Tuesday night. Looks like Keene has been

a trendsetter for years… the postal service is expected to announce on Wednesday morning that it will stop de-livering letters and other mail on Saturdays, but continue to handle packages, a move the financially struggling agency said would save about $2 bil-lion annually as it looks for ways to cut cost. Keene has done its part for years with no Saturday delivery at all.
