Located in Burlington, Ontario, The WaterStreet Group Inc. (“WaterStreet”) is a Multi Family OfficeTM firm with 40 employees that manages the personal wealth and lives of affluent private families and individuals.

When it opened its doors in 2006, WaterStreet established a set of core values that would serve as the cornerstones of its business – integrity, objectivity, transparency, confidentiality and respect. Confidentiality involves an unwavering pledge to ensure that the privacy of every client’s information is strictly guarded. In 2009, this commitment led the firm’s management to begin exploring innovative new ways of electronically exchanging confidential documents with clients.

Immediately, the firm was able to exchange client documents of any kind without size restrictions – confidentially and securely. Today, everyone in a client relationship role at WaterStreet is reaping the benefits of CCH Portal. Mr. Nicholls estimates that 30% of the firm’s clients are now using the powerful solution, but anticipates that within the next six months this number will rise significantly. “Our goal is to bring every new client on board with CCH Portal as an automatic value-added service versus an ’ask for’ service.”

CCH Portal opened up a plethora of new possibilities for WaterStreet in its day-to-day operations. Advisors are able to track client spending by having clients upload their credit card and bank statements through CCH Portal. What’s more, CCH Portal has facilitated collaboration among WaterStreet’s staff.
