The stage show is a real therapeutic experience, with songs to alienating loops that plunge the viewer into a state of inner trance. It broadcasts messages that awaken the consciences by offering a critical view, but not equally positive, life and modern society.
The musicians captivate the audience with their charisma and their sense of humor, they captivate through their theatrical show, and they finally managed to conquer the inviting everyone to take part in the festival, without discrimination.
Keko Yoma music is varied and very difficult to define. Their songs are provocative, festive, tribal, committed, and they are interpreted through a classic rock quartet plus percussion, keyboards, brass didgeridoo, trumpets, Colombian gaita, trutruca, tarka, pifilka, synthesizers, electronic effects, and not forgetting an essential element: the energy of the audience. It is an experience that should be enjoyed live.
Keko Yoma is a big celebration, a spiritual flown that connects with your most primitive feelings.
For 10 years they play in the world, linked together tours to participate in major festivals such as Vive Latino in Mexico, Rock For People Czech Republic, Lollapalooza in Chile, Quito in Ecuador Fest, or more recently the Gentse Festeen which is one of the biggest festivals of Belgium and Europe. They may well have more than 600 concerts on the clock, their energy is still far from exhausted!
In 2014 Keko Yoma celebrated its ten-year career with the recording of Propaganda, his third album. Among the highlights of the year, we note the launch of the drive in one of the largest rooms in the country, Batuta, which was filled for the occasion, as well as an international tour in Latin America, which has the conducted in Ecuador and Colombia, as part of their participation in the Quito Fest.
In 2015, accompanied by two new members who bring a new sound to the music project, they realized their eighth European tour. This “Europe Tour” allowed them to travel in major cities of the old continent, like Amsterdam (Netherlands), Berlin (Germany) or Gantes (Belgium). Their passage to Germany was the opportunity to record a video clip on the Berlin Wall, with the background of the bridge Oberbaumbrück: they have left a footprint music, party and rock, in this place of marking history, became a symbol of German reunification.
The music of Keko Yoma is recognized on the European stage, and the stage and musical approach is appreciated by all those who recognize the serious work group and matured musically, that combines social awareness, critical, joy and carnival.
In late 2015, Keko Yoma made a visit to Mexico, in the context of its presentation in one of the most important festivals in the south of the country, the Indie Fest in Campeche. City received the band with cheers and enthusiasm, allowing Keko Yoma, consolidating a journey full of change and success, finishing the year as chosen by festival goers as the revelation band contest. In addition the band took the instance to visit several areas and participate in a series of interviews that have enabled a progressive positioning on his music through Aztec and Mayan territories. In 2016 they expect to repeat the movement, and make Mexico a new territory in which to present his show.
2014 2015Keko Yoma is a group trip, and is characterized by its ability to find and take ownership of the music of each place he visits.

In “Propaganda” it is nice to see a maturation in the content. “El más los Caminos Weon” and “Bienvenidos al on” the previous two albums released in 2008 and 2010, were more focused on notes “humorous”, in which the theatrical side, particularly present in songs for inspiration doubtful, sometimes did miss some interesting musical explorations. Today however, greater finesse can be seen in the lyrics, a more marked critical and efficient arrangements, although a bit diffuse. But when it comes time to java, this cocktail succeeds in passing the good vibrations necessary to change and awareness. One can not speak of Keko Yoma without mentioning this.
As for the musical style is also observed that the group has reached an interesting balance between songs with danceable rhythms and agreements specifically “rock” (or punk).
For example, “Cabaret,” “Pyta giro” and “Resiste” are compositions with very different styles, but both are cosmopolitan and can reach a wide audience; however, a song like “Berlín” addresses a very local issue, namely criticism of Special Forces of the Chilean Police, all served in a soul funk sauce. In other words, the musical scope of Keko Yoma is endless.
It is important to note the impressive Renato Pizarro guitar work on the album, especially in songs like “Propaganda” or “Querer,” in which he brings discrete dissonances that enrich the overall harmony. Similarly, we appreciate the originality of the songs “Plundered has papá” and “Calor” which despite a minimalist content, differ in sound (punk) rock circular and repetitive, almost psychedelic, with acrobat trend. Just before the end-and like the previous albums, the album gives way to a slower composition, where the delicacy of melody and musical arrangements vibrate the authentic texts of Fernando Reyes: thus born “La guitarra”, an original waltz that goes to integrate Chinese flutes.
PropagandaThird album of Keko Yoma National quintet has managed to remain on scene for ten years now, assuming brilliantly autonomy in production and in creation. One could think of a time we were dealing with a dementia group that would link the tours, but their journey throughout these years shows that this is a different path they have chosen, the one to chart their own route at their own pace and over their moods.
Cristóbal Cornejo, ROCKAXIS
Finally, at the right time, Keko Yoma begins to find a balance and a better presence with a handful of songs at the height content, thoughtful and mature, without leaving aside the festive touch. On the contrary, at no time we find compositions in bad taste or easy humor. The critical message appears more convincing and consistent, and everything remains rooted in the rhythms that seek primarily to make you dance.
