Head Prefect’s Message…

With the academic year coming to an end, my Primary Six schoolmates and I will look back at the wonderful years spent at Kellock fondly. We will never forget the care, concern and advice given to us by our school leaders, Ms Chin, Mrs Manuel, Mrs Yap, and our teachers. We are extremely privileged to be part of this Kellock family and will never forget

Kellock. On behalf of the graduating cohort, I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest thanks to everyone at Kellock; teaching and non-teaching staff. I would like to express our thanks through a simple poem penned by me.

Today I sit by the window bay,

With a cup of coffee this lovely day.

Memories of school just flashed by,

The thought of farewell makes me cry.

It will be hard to say goodbye,

To the six golden years that will soon pass by.

An innocent and naïve child I was,

Unsure of what the future me would be.

With all your patience and tender loving care,

I blossomed into a responsible girl you encouraged to dare.

Ready to face the world outside,

To face the challenges and walk with stride.

Now, there is this deep sense of pride in me,

The pride to be part of this lovely family.

Where teachers are like precious gems,

And students are their bright radiance.

Like a treasure kept safe and secure,

Kellock will remain in my heart for sure.

Today with my trembling voice,

And with pain in my heart and tears in my eyes,

I would like to say thanks to all,

For all the support when I fall.

It’s time to say goodbye, dear friends,

Goodbye, Farewell, Goodbye.

1. Updates / Announcements

1.1 Staff Movement

We welcome on board Mdm Yuan Yingna to the Chinese Language Department, and look forward to

her contributions.

1.2 Safety, Security & Traffic Matters

Haze Management

Singapore has been experiencing hazy conditions and the 24-hr PSI has been registering low to

mid-end of the Unhealthy range in the period of September. As a school, we have stepped up our

haze management measures, ensuring that air-purifiers are ready and that staff and students are

familiar with the haze guidelines should we need to move to designated enclosed spaces, where

necessary. We have also been reminding students with pre-existing conditions to have their

medication with them at all times.

School Infrastructure Improvement

Our students and stakeholders have given feedback that at times, it is difficult to distinguish the

female toilets from the male toilets and vice-versa due to the similar coloured doors. Hence, the

toilet doors have been painted in different colours – pink for female, blue for male and grey for the

handicap toilets – for easy recognition.

Traffic Updates

We are also happy to announce that LTA has commenced works to widen the turning radius from

Kampung Bahru Road to Bukit Teresa, towards the Church. This improvement project should be

completed by end September 2015. On this note, we would like to remind parents to drive slowly

and keep to a single lane on the narrow Bukit Teresa Road when their children are alighting from

the cars. As Bukit Teresa Road leads to a cul-de-sac with residents staying in the area, parents are

strongly encouraged to use Bukit Purmei Road for drop-offs and pick-ups.

1.3 General School Matters

Collection of Homework due to Child’s Absence

This is a gentle reminder for parents who would like to collect homework for their children who

have been given two or more days of medical leave to contact the respective form teachers in

advance for such a request. Once the teachers have been contacted, the homework will be placed at

the General Office and can only be collected after 3 p.m.

Picking Up of Books from classrooms after School Hours and on Saturdays

As part of the school’s efforts to instil in our students the value of Responsibility and as part of the

school’s safety guidelines, students will only be allowed to return to their classrooms to collect

books or files left behind any time from school dismissal to 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays.

Requests to go up to classrooms after 4.30 p.m. and on Saturdays by students and parents will not

be allowed.

3.2 Students’ Achievements

CCA Achievements – Netball

With both our Junior and Senior Netball girls emerging

3rd place in the South Zone Primary Schools Netball

Championships 2015, they qualified to compete in the

National Primary Schools Netball Championships 2015

held in Term 3.

Throughout the June holidays, while most students were

enjoying their holiday, our netballers trained long and

hard to prepare for the competition. After many tough

matches against opponents from the top 4 schools in each

zone, our Junior team finished in the Top 8 and our

Senior team emerged 4th. Well done, girls!

3.3 Teachers’ Day Celebration

On 3 September 2015, Kellock celebrated Teachers’ Day with fun-

filled activities which culminated in a very special glamorous

night at Orchard Hotel.

Father Bosco started the celebration with a prayer service and

special blessing for all the teachers. This was followed by a

concert specially planned by the student leaders. Our students

displayed their musical talents and performed with passion for

their teachers. The highlight of the day’s celebration was the

‘Back to School’ games where teachers went on stage to play a

game of ‘Capteh’ and ‘What’re the missing words’ of popular

songs from different eras.

Student leaders presented the teachers with a special gift in

conjunction with SG50; a hardcover notebook and a goodie bag

containing ‘Kacang Puteh’, ‘Haw Flakes’, ‘Boro Balls’ and ‘Gem

Biscuits’.

As a form of recognition for the passion and care

shown by teachers, the concert ended with the

presentation of awards – Caring Teacher Award,

Outstanding Youth in Education Award (OYEA)

and President’s Award for Teachers (PAT).

The excitement and fun did not end in school as the staff of

CHIJ Kellock celebrated Teachers’ Day dinner at Orchard

Hotel. It was a night of glamour and glitz as staff came in

their best red carpet worthy outfits keeping to the theme, “A

Night at the Oscars”. Staff enjoyed a sumptuous buffet

dinner and many exciting games organised by our dedicated

Parents Support Group (PSG). The PSG worked tirelessly to

plan and organise this meaningful and fabulous celebration.

Our heartfelt thanks to our PSG!

How many hands can the mouth of a shark hold? Let’s find out!

Experiential learning during the museum guided tours.

3.4 Primary 4 Camp @ Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum (LKCNH)

The annual Primary 4 overnight camp was held over two sessions on the 21 and 22 May and; 25

and 26 May this year. It was held at the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum. The camp aims to

expose the students to the biodiversity of plants and animals in Singapore and the region as well as

develop 21st century competencies through camp activities. More than just a night at the museum,

it was a night to remember.

The camp was a unique experience as it was the first

overnight museum camp done in the newly opened LCKNH

museum. The students viewed many interesting exhibits

during a night tour at the museum. They participated in

many interesting activities that allowed them to learn

more about nocturnal wildlife in Southeast Asia. They also

had front row seats to a special dinosaur light show at the

museum just before bed time. In the morning, they

participated in a treasure hunt within the museum

grounds to apply their learning of Singapore’s rich natural

heritage the night before and many walked away with nice

book prizes from the museum.

The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the

camp. Many commented that they wished that the camp

was longer so that they would be able to learn more

about the wildlife in urban Singapore from the museum

guides. They relished the juicy stories told by the

museum docents of wildlife adventures played out right

in Singapore’s heartlands! Students also shared that

they learnt more about Singapore’s natural history

through this learning journey and bonded with their

classmates through their experience of spending the

night together under the watchful eyes of the dinosaurs!

3.5 Primary 6 Financial Literacy Bazaar

At CHIJ Kellock, we recognise that financial literacy is an essential life skill. It is an opportunity to

develop the Kellock Girl Outcomes – thoughtful learner, servant leader and persons for others, in

our girls and teach them the value of making a difference no matter how small it could be.

Given the rising affluence in Singapore, it is important that our students are equipped with financial

literacy skills and knowledge so that they can make responsible decisions and choices as well as

develop good habits in financial matters from an early age.

Kellock has integrated the learning of financial literacy concepts into the core curriculum of

Mathematics. This approach allows students to make connections in authentic contexts and hence

to give more meaning to what they are learning.

As a post-examination activity, Primary 6 students will be taught how to create a business proposal

which showcases their proposed ideas to market and sell products in order to raise funds. Students

will present their entrepreneur projects and follow it up with the Primary 6 Bazaar. Students will

be taught how to use Microsoft Excel in budgeting and working out the expenditure and sales of

their products. They will work in groups to produce crafts which they would sell at the Primary 6

Bazaar to their school mates and staff.

Proceeds from the sales will be given to the IJ home and the school building fund; hence values such

as contributing back to the school and the community will also be emphasised in this financial

literacy programme.

3.6 Youth Celebrate!

As part of the SG50 and Youth Day

celebration, a group of 80 students,

teachers and parents from CHIJ Kellock

attended Youth Celebrate! at the

Singapore Sports Hub. The theme for

this year was ‘Celebrating Diverse

Talents, Creating Shared Memories

and Looking Forward with

Confidence’. More than 3,700

performers and athletes from all MOE

schools, as well as Special Education

schools and Institutes of Higher

Learning, showcased their talents in

this celebratory event. Youth Celebrate!

also marked the official opening of the

Singapore Sports Hub by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. At this milestone occasion, Prime

Minister Lee, together with Minister Heng Swee Keat and our youth representatives sealed a Time

Capsule, which contains a repository of meaningful items that are symbolic of our youth’s

aspirations.

One of the highlights of the event was the attempt to set two records in the Singapore Book of

Records – the largest floating Singapore flag and the most number of laps swum in one hour.

Sulmas Nami from Primary 5 Lily represented CHIJ Kellock in this record-setting event. Below is

Sulmas’s account of her experience:

“The first record setting feat that we did was to form the largest floating Singapore

flag. It was difficult to hold on to each other’s floats as the floats were wet and slippery.

The depth of the water was about 5 meters so there was this fear that I would drown if

I got too tired from treading water. The water was also very cold and I was shivering.

Despite facing so many difficulties, I still had fun and enjoyed the experience of

creating the Singapore flag in the water.

The second record setting feat was to swim the most number of laps within one hour.

We were divided into 3 waves of 20 minutes each to complete as many laps as we could.

I started to get very tired and felt like giving up but I still pushed myself and continued

swimming. We had to beat the previously set record of 3000 laps and to our surprise,

we managed to swim 5000 laps in total.

During the finale, we wore our track suits and ran into the stadium

waving our flags and light sticks to celebrate our achievement. I felt

very lucky to be chosen to be part of Youth Celebrate!”

3.7 Kindergarten Visits to Kellock

As part of the school’s Open House and Arts community outreach programme, we invited about 40

K2 children from Damien Hall Kindergarten and Maris Stella Kindergarten to get to know the school

and to participate in our school’s annual Kellock’s Arts Jamboree (KAJA) - Art Workshop for Young

Children. The art workshop aims to spark our young visitors’ creativity and explore the various

ways to create an art piece. This community outreach programme provided our students the

platform to share their artistic talents by facilitating the art workshop for young children.

Our Primary 4 school prefects, Art club students and gymnasts facilitated the workshops and

accompanied the children during their visit to CHIJ Kellock. The children created imaginary

creatures using egg trays, pipe cleaners and paint. They had plenty of fun using the materials to

create their imaginary creatures. After the visual art workshop, the children visited the school’s

gymnasium and were treated to a simple gymnastic exercise led by our gymnasts. The children

performed some simple gymnastic skills and had a whale of a time walking on the balance beam!

4. Kellock Goes Global

4.1 Johore-Malacca Educational Immersion Programme

(25 May 2015 - 26 May 2015) Kellock organised a 2D1N JB-Malacca Educational

Immersion Programme for the Primary 5 students

who take Tamil as their mother tongue language.

This trip provided opportunities for our students to

understand the Indian culture and traditions in a

setting beyond Singapore. It also created an out-of

classroom experience for the learning and practice of

the Tamil Language in an authentic context.

The language cum cultural learning journey included a

half-day school attachment to one of the local Tamil

schools in Malacca, SMKGB-Malacca School, where

students actively participated in enrichment activities

organised by the school.

4.2 Education Exchange Programme to China

(24 May 2015 – 29 May 2015)

A 6-day China Educational Exchange Programme to

Xiamen, Chaozhou and Yongding was organised in

May 2015 for our Primary 5 students. The programme

provided opportunities for students to be immersed

in the rich culture and history of China, and to

appreciate how different cultures have influenced the

language. 30 Primary 5 students were selected from a

selection interview conducted by the MTL HOD and

teachers-in-charge of the programme. During the trip,

various learning tasks were assigned to the students

to enhance their learning. This programme also

provided students with opportunities to apply the

skills they have learnt from the WeB programme and

the WeCare workshop. With the help of the teachers-

in-charge, five short broadcasting videos were

produced and shown to the whole school during pre-

assembly.

4.3 Cantus Angelicus: Children’s Choir Festival

During the first week of the June holidays, the school choir journeyed to Malacca, Malaysia, to take

part in Cantus Angelicus 2015. Cantus Angelicus, which means ‘Voices of Angels’, is Asia’s first ever

choral festival for choristers aged 12 and below. During this time, the choir was privileged to attend

three master classes conducted by international clinicians, Robyn Lana and Susanna Saw. The

takeaways from the masterclasses were almost immediate and in comparison to our performance

during the Festival Opening Concert, our improvement could be clearly seen when we presented

our repertoire during the Festival Closing Concert.

Besides the precious choral takeaways, the students established friendship with the other

participants of the festival while preparing for the combined-choirs performance, at the pyjamas-

themed closing concert, as well as the movie night held on our last night in Malacca. Of course, other

intangible takeaways such as independence, tolerance, respect, responsibility and resilience were

some of many learned experiences that made the trip a meaningful and fulfilling one.

5. Kellock Makes a Difference

5.1 Children for Children (CfC)

In collaboration with our partners, The Business Times, The RICE Company Limited and Resorts

World Sentosa, CHIJ Kellock will be staging our 8th edition of Children for Children at Resorts

World Sentosa. Children for Children is a meaningful platform for the students of CHIJ Kellock to

pay it forward and make a difference as they play host to approximately 3000 underprivileged

children in Singapore, to celebrate a very special and memorable Children’s Day on Thursday, 8

October 2015.

In conjunction with SG50, the theme for this year’s Children for Children is Be The Difference, It

Begins With You and Me. Through a drama production put together by the students of CHIJ

Kellock, participants at this year’s event will set out on an exciting journey as they travel back in

time to witness Singapore’s 50 years of history and spread the message that everyone can do

their part to make a difference for Singapore.

In line with Children for Children and MOE’s curriculum for Character and Citizenship Education

(CCE), our Primary 4 students will be generating awareness of the underprivileged in society for

their Values in Action (VIA) project. This VIA platform allows students to undergo learning

experiences that support their development as socially responsible citizens who contribute

meaningfully to the community. The Primary 4 VIA project will inculcate empathy in our

students, and encourage a call to action on how they can play a part to help others in our

community, especially for the underprivileged children.

50 Songs for Singapore Choral Festival

How does a choir celebrate

the 50th birthday of its

nation? Not unexpectedly,

it would be through its

joyous singing!

Our students were most

privileged to lend their

voices to the inaugural

Singapore Choral Festival -

50 Songs for Singapore.

Held over the Golden

Jubilee weekend, the

school choir sang as part of a combined primary school choir, singing three songs by Singaporean

composers. As one of the younger performing groups in the concert, our students contributed to the

celebratory atmosphere with their youthful exuberance. Our students also caught a glimpse of the

local choral scene as well as saw many of our local talents in action. The event is one that the choir

would likely remember for a long time in years to come.

Catholic SG50 celebration – JOY

The school and the choir were thrilled to be invited to participate in the Catholic SG50 JOY

celebration event which took place on 4 July 2015. Our principal, Ms Chin, reminded us that when

the church calls, we respond in faith and love. Therefore, as part of the Catholic school community,

we were delighted to be given this opportunity to share the good news of God’s love with those

around us.

The hymn which the choir presented was, You Are

Mine. The members in the school choir come from

different faith background, so our choral instructor,

Mr Qiu, first helped the children understand and

appreciate lyrics of the hymn. With this shared

understanding of the content of the lyrics, the choir

was able to sing the hymn with confidence and

conviction, touching the heartstrings of the

congregation present. The choir shared that it had

been a memorable event as they joined the Catholic

community to celebrate Singapore’s 50th Birthday.

SING 50

Sing50 was a celebration concert of Singapore’s birthday and also of Singapore’s rich diversity

musical heritage in the past 50 years. This concert took place at the newly built National Stadium on

7 August 2015. The Straits Times and The Business Times of Singapore Press Holdings Limited

hoped to engage the community, especially students, and to develop a wider knowledge of and

appreciation for Singapore’s music and songs.

CHIJ Kellock choir was part of the 1,000-strong choir consisting of school choirs and members from

the grassroots. The 1,000-strong choir sang a selection of songs that represented the milestones in

the music scene in Singapore at the pre-concert segment. The performance by the choir harnessed

applause and appreciation from the 45,000 spectators. Our students enjoyed themselves

performing on stage in front of a huge audience.

String Ensemble

As part of the school’s Arts community

outreach programme, String Ensemble

members performed for the residents of St.

Joseph’s Home on 31 July 2015. Under the

baton of Mr Ivan Saraza, the String Ensemble

performed six pieces of music for the

residents. Their performance harnessed

applause and appreciation from the elderly.

This opportunity has given the String

Ensemble a platform to showcase their

learnings and to strengthen their music skills.

It was a memorable day for the members and

they were elated to be able to reach out to the community through their music.

The String Ensemble took this opportunity to present a cheque donation from CHIJ Kellock to St.

Joseph’s Home. The amount donated was

from this year’s Lunar New Year Hong

Bao collection which the students of CHIJ

Kellock had generously contributed. The

administrator was grateful for the

school’s generosity.

6. Celebrations in our Parish Church – Church of St. Teresa This year, Church of St. Teresa had the honour of celebrating the sacerdotal anniversaries of our

beloved priests – Fr. Michael Arro and Fr. Romeo Yu-Chang. May God continue to shower His

blessings on them both, guiding and protecting them always.

6.1 Fr. Michael Arro – 60th Sacerdotal Anniversary (3 July 2015)

Fr. Arro is a very inspirational figure in CHIJ

Kellock. He is well-loved by everyone here in

our Kellock family. We always look forward to

his homilies as he is able to help us see the

connections from the Scripture to our daily

lives. Fr. Arro’s generosity is felt by all in CHIJ

Kellock and we are grateful for his kindness

and patience. As part of his jubilee celebration,

representatives from the different

communities of our parish were invited to pay

our tribute to Fr. Arro. Sofie Gonzales from

Primary 5 Lily, represented CHIJ Kellock to

read out our tribute to Fr Arro at the 8.30 a.m.

Eucharistic celebration on 5 July.

6.2 Fr. Romeo Yu-Chang – 25th Sacerdotal Anniversary (5 September 2015)

Fr. Romeo is a familiar figure with our Catholic

students as he is always part of the team of priests

who comes in to CHIJ Kellock during Lent to listen

to our students’ confessions. He is the Port

Chaplain for the seafarers where he ministers to

sailors, crews of the various cruise liners and all

who are dependent on the sea to make a living.

When he comes to celebrate paraliturgy services

at Kellock, he would prepare interesting

PowerPoint slides to engage students during his

homilies. CHIJ Kellock is very honoured to be the

venue for his 25th Sacerdotal Anniversary dinner.

7. Dedications from Our Graduating Classes

Primary 6 Acacia

Everywhere that I go, every place that I’ve been,

nowhere is as special as Kellock is to me…

Kellock has a special place in our hearts that nothing can replace. Thanks to the opportunities we

have been provided with, every single one of us has grown individually as a person. The life lessons

we have gleaned in Kellock will not only help us in our childhood but will also be vital in our future.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped in raising us into who we are today - our parents

for their unwavering support, our teachers who guided us with patience and care and our school

leaders, Ms Chin, Mrs Manuel and Mrs Yap.

A place where friendship grows, a place that we all know,

sweet memories will always be with me…

Thank you, Kellock, for giving us the gift of friendship. We have made many wonderful friends over

the past six years. All of us have done many memorable things together - from playing games like

‘catching’ during recess in Primary 1, to studying together in the library for our Prelims and even

playing different sports as a class in Primary 6. We have ‘terrorized’ and exasperated many

teachers through the years - either by our atrocious handwriting or the noise we make. Not a single

girl in the class can count or keep track of the number of ‘one silent claps’ we have done! These

special memories of fun and laughter will never leave our hearts!

This little blue pinafore of mine,

binds us all till the end of time…

We definitely cannot phrase this in any better way. We started our 1st year of holistic education in

this little blue pinafore and now, as we complete our exhilarating journey in Kellock we will end it

in this little blue pinafore too. Once a Kellock girl, always a Kellock girl. Kellock will forever be in

our hearts!

This little blue pinafore of mine,

is truly one of a kind…

Thank you Kellock!

Primary 6 Angsana

In a twinkling of an eye, six years have flown past. In these six years, we have built a hundred new

friendships, smiled a thousand smiles and laughed a million laughs. We will never forget these six

years spent at Kellock and would like to thank Kellock and everyone here for providing us with

fond and lasting memories.

To our English teacher, Mrs Chia, you are the smartest English teacher we have ever had at Kellock!

Thank you for guiding and helping us through English!

To our Mathematics teacher, Mrs Hong, you have helped us improve greatly in our Mathematics in

leaps and bounds! Thank you!

To our Science teacher, Ms Lui Ling, you are a real Science Whiz who has helped us tremendously.

Our curiosity and interest in Science peaked as a result of your infectious yearning for Science

knowledge. Moreover, you always made us look and think beyond what we see around us. Thank

you!

To all our Mother Tongue teachers, we thank you for being very patient with us! Thank you for

tirelessly guiding us in our Mother Tongue.

We would also like to thank our parents for their endless love, care and strong support. Thank you

for teaching us resilience and helping us to build up our confidence. Thank you for helping us to be

who we are today!

Last but not the least, a big thank you to Ms Chin, Mrs Manuel, Mrs Yap and all of our teachers for

grooming us into the Kellock girls we have grown to be today. We will never forget this little blue

pinafore of ours for as long as we live.

Farewell, Kellock!

Primary 6 Casuarina

When we entered Kellock, we hardly knew anyone other than those whom we had met at

kindergarten . As the years flew by, we formed many bonds and memories. One particular memory

we are fond of is the P5 National Education Show (NE Show). We had to practise resilience, one of

our school’s values while waiting to enter the stadium. The long wait under the hot sun was

forgotten when we finally watched the superb performances. The best part of the NE Show was the

spectacular fireworks! We were dazzled!

In the beginning of this year, we were really excited as we geared up to celebrate SG50. However,

we also dreaded the year as we will be doing our Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE).

However, the guidance we received from our teachers, the unfailing support from our parents and

encouragement from our friends helped us to increase our confidence. Thus, helping to decrease

the amount of stress and pressure we have to deal with this year.

We, the Casuarina girls, would like to sincerely thank our principal, vice-principals, teachers, the

staff and of course… our friends! We would also like to thank CHIJ Kellock for educating us for six

years, showing us what it is to have the school values (GIR3L) and for giving us many opportunities

to participate in various activities.

We wish CHIJ Kellock to continue being a place where happy memories are made and to have many

good years ahead. We will miss everyone who had nurtured us to be the girls we are today. We are

proud to be part of Kellock and will forever remember our school motto: Simple in virtue, Steadfast

in duty.

Thank you and God bless!

Primary 6 Cherry

When we first stepped into

Kellock as Primary 1 students,

bright, smiling faces greeted

us and made us feel at home.

All the activities and events

were planned with great

dedication and passion by our

teachers. We are certainly

very privileged to be at

Kellock!

We would like to thank all our

teachers as not only did they

help us in our studies and in

times of need, they were true role models of a true blue Kellock teacher! One such teacher is our

form teacher, Miss Vanessa Oh. For the past two years, she has taught us values of life and guided us

to who we are today.

Our heartfelt gratitude to our school leaders, Ms Chin, Mrs Manuel and Mrs Yap. They have

certainly shown us the IJ spirit through their actions and words. They have taught us how we can

lend a helping hand to the less fortunate by organising events such as Children for Children (CfC).

We would also like to thank our Parents’ Support Group (PSG) and our school’s non-teaching staff

such as our hardworking cleaners and office staff. The cleaning staff in our school has always gone

the extra mile to keep our school clean. They help to keep our environment clean and conducive for

our school to function effectively. Our special thanks to them!

The PSG spends time helping the school to organise the various important events in school such as

Games Day and International Friendship Day. They also volunteer to help sell gifts for Mother’s Day,

Father’s Day, Teacher’s Day and the Chinese New Year cookies. On top of that, they also plan and

help in ‘Tutti Frutti Tuesday’.

Last but not least, we would like to

thank the staff in the general office, who

provides us with medical help when

needed, the security guards who keep

the school safe, and our school librarian

– Auntie Doreen.

Thank you for everything – we treasure

it from the bottom of our hearts. We

hope that you will continue to be a part

of the school and create unforgettable

memories for other students. We will

continue the IJ spirit and ensure that it

burns bright with pride.

Primary 6 Jacaranda

It was not too long ago that we stepped into this school as

young playful carefree little girls. Soon we will walk out of

Kellock as sensible, matured young ladies. We have always

strove to uphold the values that Kellock has taught us. We

have become wise leaders and responsible young ladies

who are excellent role models to our juniors. We can

proudly say that CHIJ Kellock has changed our lives greatly

for the better.

We are very fortunate to have had such devoted school

leaders and teachers, both past and present. We would like

to thank our teachers, especially Miss Pereira, Miss Yee,

Mrs Teo (our Primary 5 form teacher) and all our Primary 6

teachers for encouraging us to do better and helping us to

pull our grades up! To all our Primary 1 to Primary 5

teachers, without you, we would not have been able to build a solid foundation in our major

subjects and increase our confidence level! For having faith in us and teaching us the important

values, GIRᵌL, a great big hug to our principal, Ms Chin, and vice-principals, Mrs Manuel and Mrs

Yap. We would also like to thank our ex-principal, Mrs Lim-Tan, for her care and guidance. We will

treasure everyone’s valuable advice and love always.

No words can convey our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our parents. They have been with us

through our darkest and difficult hour; always giving us their endless support and never ending

love. We are truly blessed to have you, Parents! Thank you!

We cannot forget our school’s office staff, service staff and

librarian - Auntie Doreen. In one way or another they have

helped to shape our lives and mould us into who

we are now.

Last but not least, we would like to thank our

friends who made many experiences throughout

our time here in Kellock special. We have had

amazing experiences and wonderful memories. The

Primary 5 Team Building Camp and the Primary 6

Visit to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve were two very

memorable experiences for us. In the last two years,

many strong friendships were forged. We got to know

each other very well and we learnt to appreciate the

little quirks and uniqueness of Primary 6 Jacaranda!

The adventures and laughter we shared will forever

be etched in our memories.

Once a Kellock Girl, Always a Kellock Girl!

Simple in virtue, Steadfast in duty!

Primary 6 Pine

As we look back at the past six years in Kellock, we are moved to tears to realise that we will be

leaving this wonderful place to our new secondary

school. We recall the many exciting and fun activities

that we took part in when we were in Primary 1 to

Primary 6.

One very memorable event would be the P5 National

Education Show that took our breath away with its

precision performances by the military, air force and

the multi-coloured fireworks display at the end of the

show. This year our outing to the Science Centre was

exciting and extremely informative. Science became

a whole new experience for us!

Throughout our time in Kellock, we have had many wonderful teachers who were very patient and

understanding. Special mention must be made of Mrs Lee (our form teacher), Miss Ow, Miss

Ravathy (our co-form teachers) and Mrs Teo (our Primary 5 form teacher) who were very

dedicated and took the time to help us through our academic journey. We certainly would also

want to thank all our teachers from Primary 1 to Primary 6 who have made a difference in our lives.

We really do appreciate all that you have done for us. Thank You!

Special thanks to our principal, Ms Chin, our vice-principals, Mrs Manuel and Mrs Yap for guiding us

and supporting us all the way!

We would like to thank our parents for your strong support and love. No words can convey our

love to you for always being there

for us. Thank you!

Last but not the least; we would like

to thank our friends for the fun

times we shared. For the past two

years, we have grown closer and

enjoy each other’s company a lot.

This spirit of togetherness is

something special that binds us

together as a class. This is what we

Kellock girls are very proud of and

will always treasure!

Simple in Virtue, Steadfast in Duty!!
