Principals News

Amalie I Congratulations to Amalie I for recently competing in the 2018 All-Australia Karate Championship Kempo Ryu & Sydney Junior Games. Amalie came 1st in Demonstrations (which is with a weapon) and 3rd in Point Sparring. This now qualifies Amalie to represent Australia in Japan and she had also already qualified to go to New Zealand. Well Done!! Easter Raffle Thank you to all of our families that supported the P and C with the selling of the raffle tickets. The winners were Jamie Metcalf, Dawn Breckell & Jenny Parish. We would also like to thank Mrs Cassidy and the P and C for making the Easter Hat parade such a memorable day for all of our students. Active After School Activities This is the last week of Active After School Activities this term. Just a reminder that this won’t be running next term but will resume in Term 3. QUEST Today Mr Coleman and Mrs Love from South West Rocks Public School came and trained our QUEST leaders for 2018. This is a partnership between the two schools where our staff will in turn go and train their leaders tomorrow. All the students developed their leaderships skills throughout the day. We are looking forward to the QUEST leaders running activities in the playground starting next term. At next Monday’s assembly the students will be presented with their certificates and whistles. Coles Reward Thank you to everyone who has supported this program. We are in the process of sending our vouchers away and look forward to be able to choose some new sporting equipment. Early Explorers Wednesday 4th April Mrs Byrnes will be holding a parent information meeting about our Early Explorers program. If you know of any local families with a child starting school in 2019 could you please ask them to contact the school for more information. Mathletics Your students should be supplied with their user name and password when this program has been paid for. Please let the office know if this has not happened. Thank you to the families that have made this contribution towards the program so far. We are really hoping to get all students able to access this by the end of the term. It is a $10 charge per student. Soccer Today Miss K had the privilege to select the Macleay Girls soccer team. Avril O and Monique M were successful in being selected for the team who will then attend the Lower North Coast try outs next week. Ava B was also selected as a reserve. Dash With A Splash Today the organiser of this fun run visited the school. Entry forms are available at the office if you would like to take your children to this worthwhile event, the cost is $10 (see flyer on the last page of the newsletter). Entries close tomorrow. Kind Regards, Penny Chow Relieving Principal
