Get acclimated to UNC.

Set goals for your time at UNC related to leadership, global, academics, community, and professional

development

Begin taking Business school pre-requisite courses.

Get to know your professors.

Attend UCS Pre-Biz workshops, as well as other exploratory programs.

Meet with a UCS career counselor.

Create a Careerolina account.

Follow the B-school Resume Style Guide and template to create your new resume.

During the Summer:

Continue exploring possible careers and building your professional network.

Take on a part-time job and/or engage in volunteer work.

Work on your Kenan-Flagler Business School application essays.

Use Interview Stream to get comfortable responding to behavioral questions.

New:

Complete the Kenan-Flagler Business School application by the spring or fall admission deadline.

Get involved with Business-related student organizations and other clubs on campus.

Conduct informational interviews with professionals in different functional and industry areas.

Attend the Undergraduate Business Symposium in the Fall.

Attend UCS Spring Job/Internship Expo.

Once admitted to Kenan-Flagler (Spring Admits), complete the ENGAGE onboarding process.

New:

Once admitted to Kenan-Flagler (Fall Admits), complete the ENGAGE onboarding process.

Select an Area of Emphasis in your major.

Have your resume reviewed by the Kenan-Flagler Business Communication Center (BCC).

Take advantage of UCS Mock Interview days and conduct a practice interview with the BCC.

Pursue leadership positions on campus through one of your student organizations.

Go on a career trek with a Kenan-Flagler student organization.

Get hands-on experience through Case Competitions, STAR and/or GBP.

Monitor application and on-campus interview deadlines of positions posted in Careerolina.

Learn how to manage the internship and full-time offer process.

After accepting an internship offer, fill out the UBP Future Plans Survey.

Revisit & Repeat:

Update your Careerolina account; attend the Undergraduate Business Symposium; attend UCS events: OCR Kick Off,

panels, meet-ups, info sessions, and career fairs; conduct informational interviews with professionals to learn about specific

companies and roles.

During the Summer:

Complete a career-related internship.

Make connections with professionals in various departments and levels at your place of summer employment, and with

UNC alumni who are working in interesting industries in the city of your internship.

Year

New:

Evaluate summer experience and future plans.

Start researching and applying for job opportunities early in the fall semester.

Take your job search beyond Careerolina if needed, with the help of advisors, alumni, and your professional network.

Consider graduate school as a next or future step on your career path.

Once you accept a full-time position, fill out the UBP Future Plans Survey.

Revisit & Repeat:

Update your Careerolina account; monitor application and on-campus interview deadlines of positions posted in Careerolina;

conduct a mock interview with a UCS counselor or the BCC; attend the Undergraduate Business Symposium; attend UCS
