School OverviewKenilworth Science and Technology Charter

School is more than just a middle school. In

just a few short years, Kenilworth has been

transformed from a failed public school to

one of Baton Rouge’s most innovative and

successful open-enrollment charter schools.

An academic focus on STEM (science,

technology, engineering and mathematics)

studies, a well-trained faculty and staff and

a philosophy that all students can learn have

made Kenilworth the school of choice for

Baton Rouge parents.

Our increasingly technical workplaces require a highly trained

workforce, and that STEM training has to star t with our schools.

Kenilworth STEM program gets students excited about science,

technology, engineering and math so those students can have

success in high school, college and tomorrow’s workplace.

Safe, Friendly School Environment

Since 2009, Kenilworth has motivated students to strive for academic success through a variety of classes and programs. Even

though Kenilworth is an open-enrollment school, it routinely ranks among the best in Louisiana in regional and state science fairs.

Students can have fun and learn through the school’s robotics club and competitions, and Kenilworth offers magnet classes to

top students to ensure they are being challenged.

Science Fairs, Robotics and Magnet Classes

It’s never too early to get students excited

about STEM! Kenilworth gives its

students a true college laboratory

experience by partnering with universities

in the Baton Rouge area. The SRM

program even led to one of our students’

receiving the grand award at an

international science fair. Jalen Scott

was the only student in the United

States invited to the Golden Climate

competition in Kenya.

education. The school developed and hosts the Louisiana STEM Expo,

a chance for middle school students to showcase their skills in a fun

atmosphere that celebrates academic achievement. And, Kenilworth

also is the host of the Louisiana Elementary Math Olympiad, an “old

school” match contest for elementary students across the state.
