DAYS 02 & 03 | NAIROBI - SAMBURU Departing after breakfast to the land of endless skies, dust-red plains and palm-fringed rivers, Samburu Na-tional Game Reserve lies on the fringes of the vast and semi-arid park located on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River near Mount Kenya. The reserve is the home of ‘‘Kamunyak’’ the lioness famous for adopting Oryx calves.

Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness. Their story was made famous by the bestselling book and award-winning movie "Born Free''. Elegance is on display with several large game species common to Kenya's northern plains the gerenuks, a unique gazelle with a long neck that stands on it’s behind legs, the Grevy's zebras, Somali ostri-ches with distinct blue legs and the shy Oryx. Elephants, leopards, cheetahs, lions and crocodiles are guaranteed sightings. Morning, afternoon, and evening’s game drive then return to camp/lodge for time to relax, and enjoy sundowner’s cocktails and dinner at the lodge.

Timed to start as the sun begins its descent, the sundowner ex-perience begins with a gentle evening game drive, arriving at the sundowner site just as the evening sky turns

gold-pink. As night falls, you will be driven back to your Luxury camp/lodge.

DAY 06 | LAKE ELEMENTAITA - MAASAI MARA

Depart for Masai Mara National Reserve travelling through the Great Rift Valley arriving in good time for lunch at your luxury lodge. Expertise and experience of our driver-guides will maximize your chances of seeing all the splendours of Masai Mara and beyond. A family of cheetahs sunning themselves sleepily on a rock, the drama of a lion ma-kes a kill just 15-20 feet away from you, or the thrill of elephant charge. The trees in the distance turn out to be the giraffe's family. The clump of bushes is a pride of lions. And the rock that moves may be a rhino lum-bering out of your way. Proceed to the Mara River where you’ll enjoy a sumptuous picnic lunch at the River. Visit Maasai tribesmen in their villages for an up-close cultural-tour. In any event, the sheer mass and spec-tacle of the animals surrounding you will provide endless opportunities to fill many an album of treasured memories.

Early breakfast and embark on a leisurely game-drive through central and southern Serengeti National Park.

As you safari, you will come to understand why no words can do justice to the wonders of the fabled Se-rengeti. The name is Maasai for “endless plain,” and that is what stretches before you. In this land of infinite vistas, reality becomes dreamlike. Thundering herds, vast flocks of birdlife, and an endless abundance of na-tural beauty make this one of the most legendary places on earth.

DAY 11 | SERENGETI – NGORONGORO CRATER

Depart after breakfast to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. On the way, you’ll stop to explore the world-famous Olduvai Gorge pre-historic site where the fossils of early man were founded “The Cradle of Mankind”. Then proceed on to the truly astounding sight of Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest and most perfect volcanic craters. Called “the eighth wonder of the world,” it is an utterly unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Deep within the crater, enclosed by towering walls, some over 20,000 large mammals wander the plains, lakes, and forests of this land that time forgot, domi-nated by enormous bull elephants, rhinos, lions, and a glorious variety of birdlife. Lunch served in the crater-floor will be one of your most memorable picnics ever.

DAY 12 | NGORONGORO CRATER – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Dominated by the magnificent presence of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, Amboseli is one of Kenya’s oldest and most famous parks. Endlessly panoramic yet comparatively compact, it is dotted with emerald-green swamps in which great herds of elephant wallow, half-submerged in the papyrus grasses. In the afternoon, a game drive will introduce you to the lush swamps of this fascinating landscape. As evening falls, return to camp and enjoy sundowners by the campfire before dinner in the central dining room.

DAY 13 | AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

It is quite an experience to see Kilimanjaro hovering above the clouds in an early morning. Amboseli provi-des endless wonders with fascinating features including the dried-out lakebed of prehistoric Lake Amboseli, rolling savannah, and lush green swamps. The plains are alive with antelopes, spotted hyenas, jackals, war-thogs, olive baboons, and vervet monkeys. With luck you may sight a lion, leopard, or cheetah. Observation Hill, a conical peak which is easily climbed, offers stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lunch and dinner will be taken at the lodge, whose grounds also offer optional nature walks with bird-watching; there are 250 species in the grounds alone.
