The cost of implementation is 30 Million USD Network Operator and Electricity Distribution Licensee shall have the common electricity generation units and the other recoverable energy electricity production units connected with their networks, provided that they shall bear the costs required for their networks expansion while the producer shall bear the networks connection costs. Network Operator and Electricity Distribution Licensee may enter into loads-reducing or loads-carrying forward contracts with the Consumers and Authorized Distributors, provided that no favoritism shall be exercised in the course of their transactions. The Executive Regulations shall set the controls to be considered in the course of concluding these contracts. Subscribers whose contractual capacity exceeds 500 KW shall appoint officials to be assigned to improve the power usage efficiency and keep a power register, in the manner described in the Executive Regulations" Network Operator or Electricity Distribution Licensee shall apply a proposed annual plan to be approved by the Agency for the purpose of implement- ing projects and programs serving the Consumers in the following fields: 1. In the course of issuance of a license validity certificate, the Agency shall verify the scope of applying the annual plan.. Is a dedicated credit line for energy efficiency investments in renewable energy in Egypt

This procedure is considered one of the requirements ofEgyption pollution abatment program EPAP which is defined as aninitiative of the Ministry of Environment to help the industry to improve performance and compliance with environmentalregulations. Eligible Industries in Cairo and Alexandria can take advantage of the funds available under EPAP project, where the bidding companies should have creditworthy in addition to other environmental conditions.

CO-funded by the Electricity Holding Company, Egypt, and the Global Environment Facility of the United Nations Development Programme. Ensure financing projects that provide services in the field of energy and the emission reduction in order to improve energy efficiency, such as : • Improve the power factor • Lighting systems with high efficiency • Energy Management Systems • Improve the efficiency of combustion systems

Social Fund for Development was established pursuant toPresidential Decree No. 40 of 1991 as a s social and economic safety net fight against unemployment and alleviate poverty and improve living standards and accelerate the achievement of the overall economic and social development. Social Fund is assigned to support small and micro enterprises and provide an integrated package of financial and non-financial services, in coordination with all parties involved in these projects in order to adoptpolicies and legislation necessary for developing suchprojects according to the Small Enterprise Development Act No. 141 for the year2004.

Network Operator or Electricity Distribution Licensees shallpurchase or pay for the surplus electric power deriving from the common electricity generation units and the other recoverable energy electricity production units with capacity of less than 50 MW, provided that such transactions shall be conducted under conditions and at prices set by the Agency.

Total cost including the investment expected from the organiza-tion benefiting from executing the measure is 66,000 USD

•Aim to analyze the market and develop a road map for the introduction of thermal solar energy technologies in the chemicaltextile and Food Agricultural industries, including the proposal of a number of policies and financing incentives, the first part of it aims to encourage the use of solar heating in industrial operations through providing technical support. in order to dissmenate solar heating in industrial sector.• Total cost including the investment expected from the organization benefiting from executing the measure is 4 Million USD

•First National Workshop carried out jointly with Egypt, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia. the key stakeholders at a local and national level shall participate with the aim of raising awareness among public bodies, universities, research and technology and, industry centres and other groups of interest since the very beginning of the project .

•Aim to analyze the market and develop a road map for the introduction of thermal solar energy technologies in the chemical textile ,and Food Agricultural industries, including the proposal of a number of policies and financing incentives, the second part of it aims at encouraging the use of solar energy for heating in •industrial operations by funding the deployment of solar heating in Industrial sector•Total cost including the investment expected from the organization benefiting from executing the measure is 2.5 Million Euro

•Has been established in 2002 to promote the dissemenation and application of cleaner production and energy efficiency to increase the productivity of Egyptian industry and reduce the risks that would affect people and environment. The cooperation agreement was signed in February 2005 between the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, the Federation of Egyptian Indus-tries and the National Bank of Egypt to establish a revolving fund for the Office of Environmental commitment to invest in new equipment.
