PROFESSION: Accessibility, Building, Fire & Life Safety Code Consultant POSITION: President and Managing Director KEY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Michael has over 25 years as a building, fire, and accessibility code consultant for both public and private commercial development projects. A portion of that experience includes 10 years as an architectural project manager; overseeing the design, preparation and submission of design submittal package for various projects throughout the United States. His primary experience includes a concentration in fire & life safety code consulting, ADA / accessibility analysis, the preparation of fire protection reports, AHJ liaison & permitting assistance, third-party plan reviews, and performance-based code solutions including: alternate methods, code variances and appeals. Michael’s key project team asset is his unique ability to find creative value engineering solutions to complex design challenges. His primary role as a Design Consultant for commercial, mixed-use, high- rise, and multi-family projects lead to his appointment to the National ICC Sub-Committee on Housing Provisions for the 2009 ICC A117.1 (Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities). He also authored a white paper that was used as the framework to apply accessibility design provisions for multi- family residential uses in Hotel/Condominium developments. This was eventually adopted into the 2009 IBC (International Building Code), and is the design standard for all such hybriddevelopments throughout the United States. He continues to serve on both Local & National Code Development Committees in both leadership and general member capacities. He recently represented the Southern Nevada ICC (SNICC) governmental authorities at the National ICC Code Conference in Memphis, Tennessee. He was the active proponent for numerous code change proposals for the upcoming 2018 International Building Code (IBC). Michael’s primary focus is to serve design teams by providing code consulting advice that is fully compliant, while still allowing them to achieve as much of their original design vision as may be possible. It is his belief that the best code consultant is one that does whatever possible to assist in the design process where challenges may occur. To that end, he has successfully completed numerous “Alternate Methods & Materials” design submittals for accessibility, egress, fire & life safety, and other related aspects of code compliance. These solutions have achieved a balance between reasonable accommodation (legal requirements) and acceptable cost-effective outcomes (common sense). Michael founded PCNA Group in 2006 with a group of international partners. In 2009, he acquired a 100% ownership share of the firm. He continues to serve as President and Managing Director for the North American operation. He successfully navigated the firm through the Global Financial Crisis and continues to manage its continued organic growth. KEY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Michael has over 25 years as a building, fire, and accessibility code consultant for both public and private commercial development projects.

His primary role as a Design Consultant for commercial, mixed-use, high-rise, and multi-family projects lead to his appointment to the National ICC Sub-Committee on Housing Provisions for the 2009 ICC A117.1 (Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities). He also authored a white paper that was used as the framework to apply accessibility design provisions for multi-family residential uses in Hotel/Condominium developments. This was eventually adopted into the 2009 IBC (International Building Code), and is the design standard for all such “hybrid” developments throughout the United States.

He successfully navigated the firm through the Global Financial Crisis and continues to manage it’s continued organic growth.
