Financial Assistance Individuals and families in financial need may be eligible for a credit that can be applied to Burnaby Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services program fees and admissions with some exceptions. For details, pick up a Recreation Credit application form at any Burnaby recreation centre or visit burnaby.ca/recreationcredit

To Register Fees are payable when you register. We accept cash, cheque, VISA, MasterCard, AMEX and debit card.

Register online at burnaby.ca/webreg or by contacting any Burnaby Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services facility. Please note: Registration for golf camps takes place at Burnaby Mountain or Riverway golf courses only.

Please have the course number (barcode) and a credit card ready for telephone registration. If you are registering online, please also have your family PIN and client number ready.

Note: Children must be currently attending or have completed kindergarten to participate in these programs.

Forms & Packages @4 For programs with this symbol, please first register your child or youth in the program. Once registered, all participants must complete a Participant Package. These forms are required two to three weeks before the program starts. Save time and help ensure a quality experience for your child or youth by taking a moment to complete all forms when registering. Once complete, either fax, mail or drop-off the forms to the appropriate registration site or e-mail to the programmer. Find your forms at: burnaby.ca/forms

Cancellations & Substitutions Programs may be cancelled if not enough people are registered up to one week before the start date. Most programs are planned to run no matter what the weather, however, occasionally we may have to cancel a program.

Substitutions cannot be accommodated. If your child cancels, we must offer the spot to the next child on the waitlist.

Waitlist Information Please add your name to the waitlist if our programs are full. We may be able to add space closer to the start date.

Program Support: Support For Children & Youth With Life-Threatening Allergies If your child has a life-threatening allergy please register for the program of your choice at least 2 weeks in advance. Contact the Program Coordinator for your child’s camp to discuss the emergency plan for your child should an allergic reaction occur and to ensure we have a completed Accommodation Request Life-Threatening Allergy on file. Information from your child’s doctor will be required to complete this form.

Support For Children & Youth With Disabilities We believe in providing inclusive recreational opportunities for everyone in the community. Children and youth with disabilities that require additional support in our programs are welcome to bring an attendant, caregiver or family member with them. For camps, youth programs and out-trips, one-to-one support staff may be available on a first-come, first serve basis. In order to provide the best service possible, please contact the access coordinator at 604-297-4576 to discuss one-on-one or one-on-two support.

Program Support Package The Program Support Package is available at any Burnaby recreation centre or online at burnaby.ca/forms

Refunds A full refund is given if a class is cancelled or if you request a refund at least seven days before the class starts. If a refund is requested less than seven days before the class starts, the cost of one session is deducted. After classes have started, refunds are prorated according to the sessions remaining. Refunds requested on the day of the class or after the completion of classes cannot be granted. Exceptions to these guidelines are noted in individual program descriptions. Please refer to your receipt for refund guidelines.

Children’s Admission PolicyChildren 7 years of age or younger and less than 48 inches in height must be accompanied in the water by a person 16 years of age or older and be within arm’s reach of that person at all times. The ratio of children to accompanying persons must be no greater than 3 to 1.

Wading Pools & Water Play FeaturesSchedules change according to daily weather conditions and Metro Vancouver water conservation guidelines. Sun-heated wading pools are filled only when a playground leader is on-site. Our water play features operate on a push-button system from 9am-9pm, May long weekend until September.
