about the eventWe invite you to participate in this new and unique event aimed at bringing together the leading experts and educators on cybersafety and the digital culture of young people. The field of cybersafety is historically unprecedented.

The power of cyber technology that the average young person can now access often vastly exceeds their cognitive and emotional maturity. The fact that the online world is changing so rapidly means that information that was current even a few months ago, can now become dangerously out of date.

As result cyber culture brings both tremendous opportunity as well as risk to the fingertips of each and every one of our young people. In order to assist young people to make the right choices online it is imperative that teachers, parents, carers or anyone who works with young people become aware, knowledgeable the culture workings and latest trends in cyberspace.

aimThis event is designed to update, educate and empower participants with authoritative knowledge and practically relevant, real-world strategies to assist young people to stay safe and be productive online.

Since cyberspace is in a constant state of change, the event will be held on an annual basis in order to provide participants with important updates on the ever changing geography and behavioural trends in cyberspace.

Feedback from the initial event will be used to determine whether or not to expand the event from a single location to a larger circuit, possibly involving up to five cities in australia.

contentThe topics, content and format have been developed as a result of extensive consultation with leading experts and stakeholder organisations as well as surveys of more than a thousand professionals who work with young people.

The event will involve a half-day of plenary lectures followed by a half day of smaller interactive workshops. Each lecture will be approximately 30 minutes in duration while the workshops will general be longer.

Delegates will receive an event handbook summarising all the education material in which they can also take notes and use as an ongoing reference.

Over the past 12 months we have conducted surveys and focus groups of our target audience to determine their interest areas. As a result we have collected more than 1,000 responses from teachers and other youth stakeholders who have filled out a 40 item questionnaire indicating their preferred topics in addition to information about the cybersafety resources that they use. We will use this data to inform the development of the programme and ensure that it is correctly aligned with their perceived needs and hence have the maximum possible appeal.

Stakeholder involvementWe are currently in discussion with ACMA and the AFP who have both expressed keen interest in being involved in this event.

Welcome to the new trien-nium! The RACGP requires GPs to have completed an accredited CPR course dur-ing the current triennium.

In this workshop delegates will have the op-portunity to participate in an interactive workshop involving an update on latest CPR guidelines and use of automated defi brillators

followed by assessment of CPR skills.

The workshop will be approximately 1-1.5 hrs duration, supervised by qualifi ed ARC accred-ited instructors and will be compliant with all RACGP requirements. GPs will have to physi-cally demonstrate their ability to perform and be assessed as competent in performing CPR.

Sessions will be run in parallel with the lec-tures. There may also be a session available at

the end of the seminar for those wishing to do the workshop after the last lecture. Sessions will be scheduled according to demand with a maximum of 25 participants each.

The additional cost includes RACGP points processing and certifi cation.

Basic CPR for RACGP Requirements

Welcome to the new trien-nium! The RACGP requires GPs to have completed an accredited CPR course dur-ing the current triennium.

In this workshop delegates will have the opportunity to

participate in an interactive workshop involving an update on latest CPR guidelines and use of automat-ed defi brillators followed by assessment of CPR skills.

The workshop will be approximately 1-1.5 hrs dura-tion, supervised by qualifi ed ARC accredited instruc-tors and will be compliant with all RACGP require-ments. GPs will have to physically demonstrate their

ability to perform and be assessed as competent in performing CPR.

Sessions will be run in parallel with the lectures. There may also be a session available at the end of the seminar for those wishing to do the workshop after the last lecture. Sessions will be scheduled ac-cording to demand with a maximum of 25 partici-pants each.

The additional cost includes RACGP points process-ing and certifi cation.
