KIIT School of LAW

Integrated Legal Education Emphasizing Intellectual and Jurisprudential Science of Law

Founder’s message

contents

3

It has always been my dream, to envisage a university where students not only learn their subjects but also live their subjects. With this aim in mind I decided to create KIIT School of Law.

Law is a pedagogy which closely perceives all the aspects of society and subsequently deals with them. I feel that in the field of legal education, students should instinctively apply what they have studied in the four corners of their classroom to whatever their eye may observe in the environment around them. Realizing the importance of mixing law with aspects of finance such as Economics and Business Management is a revelation only 20 years old.

It is only obvious that the amalgamation of legal education with the requirements of the corporate world is almost a necessity for the modern-day law student. We at KIIT School of Law strive to mould and nurture students to not only meet but exceed expectations in the field of law integrated with the field of finance. I welcome all those who are going to share the feeling of satisfaction with the success of the KIIT School of Law and thank all those who have extended and would continue to extend their valued support in achieving our mission.

are constantly innovating to ensure that our students would be competent to confront the emerging challenges and to respond to the growing national and international dimensions of both legal education and legal profession. The structure of syllabi in all the three integrated courses focuses on justice studies, multilateral legal regulations, multi-disciplinary areas, technological advances especially in the field of biotechnology, market economy, international trade and commerce besides the traditional subjects.

The teaching methods followed at KSOL involves case method, problem method, adversary method, discussion-text book method, research method, clinical method ,field visits and practical training in the legal field with the objective to teach law in context . The teaching and learning law at KIIT SCHOOL OF LAW (KSOL) is something which responded holistically and meaningfully to 21st century challenges of legal education. The main challenges to the legal education today are to prepare law students not only as lawyers and members of legal fraternity but also as social engineers to be the driving force and to play active role in the emerging issues and movements towards emergence of trade related global market, widespread privatization of governmental functions, changing phenomenon of finance, business and industries and to response to techno-science challenges like advances of information technology, biotechnology, genetic sciences, revolution in microchips and integrated circuitry, recombinant DNA technologies.

Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS)KISS- Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences is a step of KIIT University towards social commitment. Here children from impoverished tribal areas are given education free of cost by arranging for their stay as well as food. This is the largest institute for tribal children in South Asia which is home to 15000 tribal children providing them accommodation, food, healthcare and education- from Kindergarten to Post Graduation.

TARKA SAMUHA (KSOL Debating Society)A debate competition increases inquisitiveness coupled with spontaneity in the minds of a man, which is the fuel to a lawyer. The part of brain which delves into analysis, arguments, speech and precision are sharpened by this art called debate, add to that a format in the Asian style of parliamentary system is what is majorly followed in School of law, KIIT.
