KIIT-TBI Bioincubator has been in operation since 2012, with support from BIRAC under the Bioincubator Support Scheme (BISS). It has
established itself in the eastern region with an excellent track record for growth and development of early stage companies carrying forward
translational research. Having an unrivalled ability to cater for the needs of both office and lab-based startups, by providing flexible and
affordable accommodation it’s currently home to 30 innovators including companies operating in the agri biotechnology, industrial processes
to formulations, nanotechnology and medical devices sector.
BIRAC has recently initiated Bio-NEST program, aimed at creating 15 worldclass bioincubators, with KIIT-TBI being one of them. This programme
provides incubation space, mentor network, instrumentation facilities, IP and technology management support.

support the innovators (PRAYASEE) by providing prototyping grant
along with a PC Fab Lab facility for the development of PoC/Product
thus bridging the gap between idea and prototyping. The current
focus areas for support are manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare,
clean-tech, energy, water and Internet of Things (IoT). Along with a
prototyping grant of upto 10 lakhs, the grantees will be provided with
technical guidance, business mentorship and IP facilitation support.
After prototyping stage, they will be eligible for futher funding and
incubation support at KIIT-TBI to scale their product/service with the
help of various support schemes.tation facilities, IP and Technology
Biotechnology Ignition Grant (BIG)
BIG is the flagship pioneering startup funding
programme of BIRAC, DBT, GoI. With a
grant-in-aid of up to INR 50 Lakhs over a period
of 18 months, the scheme encourages and
supports biotech entrepreneurs to establish
and validate proof of concept (POC) for an idea
with a commercial potential.
SPARSH - SIIP

solutions to society’s most pressing social
SIIP (Social Innovation Immersion Program) is a
fellowship programme under SPARSH scheme
that aims to build the next generation of social
entrepreneurs by helping them immerse and

NIDHI-CoE (Digital Health Lab)
Digital Health Lab is set up to meet the overwhelming challenges of Indian healthcare scenario by fostering an ecosystem for indigenous
mHealth solutions (Make in India + Digital India). Its purpose is to successfully develop digital health solutions for real-world applications;
enabling new ideas to be tested, validated, and commercialised more rapidly, thereby making lives better. NIDHI - National Initiative for
Developing and Harnessing Innovations aimed at helping startups across the country in terms of both funding and incubation support.
Digital health technologies empower us to track and manage our health in a better way. It can personalize and optimize treatments while
reduces the medical inefficiencies of medical delivery and at a fraction of costs. Digital trends have already generated a steady increase in
efficiency and process optimization across different sectors.
MSME Business Incubator (MSME-BI)
The incubator programme addresses the gap between idea and com-
mercialisation. Each selected innovators will receive MSME grant upto
6.25 lakhs along with incubation support for nurturing innovative
business ideas (new indigenous technology, processes, products,
procedure etc.) which could be commercialised within a year. The
currents focus areas for support are mechanical engineering, food
processing, chemical, and electronic, software engineering in general.
The idea is primarily for sustaining, at some basic or introductory
level, the incubation of ideas that would have otherwise been lost
for want of support. The expectations are that a sizeable percentage
of the grantees/incubates would be graduating to higher levels of
operation that would then require other follow on funding support .
NIDHI - Accelerator Programme
