out 7, you will call out 6. If Dad calls out 14, you call out 13. If you are wanting a challenge try numbers between 1-20 or 1-50, even 1-100.

This week we will be learning about three dimensional (3D) objects including spheres, cubes, cones and cylinders. 3D objects have three dimensions - length, width and height.

A clue to identifying them is: three dimensional objects are fat, whereas, two dimensional shapes are flat.

Match the 2D and 3D shapes to everyday objects https://www.starfall.com/h/geometry/enviro-shapes/?t=294270500

Scavenger Hunt: Can you find 3D objects to match the outlines in the 3D Shape Hunt worksheet from around your home? You can cut pictures from magazines, print from the internet or draw your own.

Mathletics - Log onto your Mathletics account and you will find activities have been set for you to complete by the end of the week.

LUNCH TIME

2:00-3:00

Science We are learning to analyse objects based on the type of material they are made from. Talk to your child about the different pictures on the sorting sheet and what the items are made from. Cut and paste the objects into the correct space. Colour the pictures in.

Place a 3D object into a pillowcase or bag e.g. tennis ball. An adult places their hand into the bag and feels the object, they then give the child clues so they can guess which 3D object it is. For example, it is round, it rolls, it has curved sides. The child has to guess which 3D object it is. Swap objects and this time have the child describe the object for the adult to guess. Use the attributes of 3D objects such as shape, size, number of sides, sharp edges, a pointy end, to describe the object.
