The King County Fire Chiefs are excited to host the fourth annual KCFCA Leadership Summit at the Clearwater Resort & Casino. We continually strive to build upon our four pillars of leadership, which
include Leadership Development, Inclusion & Equity, Mental Wellness and Communication.
The intent is to improve upon the quality of the conference with each year. Leadership is about building and maintaining relationships, and this Summit provides a great opportunity to do so
throughout the Region.
This experience is open to any rank but is geared for those aspiring to a Battalion Chief level or higher. Please consider attending, register and reserve your room early. We look forward to hosting

On Dec. 14, 2012, in the first classroom of Sandy Hook Elementary School,
first grade teacher Kaitlin Roig-DeBellis endured unimaginable tragedy. This
heroic teacher is credited with saving the lives of all 15 of her students by
acting quickly to lock them in a small bathroom when she heard the sounds
of gunfire. Since that fateful day, Kaitlin has created impactful, positive
change in the world. She shares her story and the tenets of her book,
‘Choosing Hope: Overcoming Life’s Darkest Hours,’ both at home and
abroad.
Fire Chief Greg Cassell has been with the Clark County Fire Department since 1989. He has extensive background in USAR and technical rescue operations, training and program development. He has participated in many different working groups that have collectively brought change related to how the fire departments in Southern Nevada interact on a daily basis. He has lectured nationally on topics related to command and control, high-rise fire operations, and, most recently, on the benefits of forming relationships with local law enforcement agencies. Chief Cassell is a member of the IAFC and completed the IAFC’s Fire Service Executive Development Institute (FESDI) program in 2016. He has two Bachelor degrees from Colorado State University. During his presentation you will have an in-depth look at the October 2017 mass shooting. This will include LE information and response to the 800 plus injured concert goers.
