/THE STORIES OF LYNN

The project involved various methods such as direct print to dibond and also onto pre-laminated MDF boards. Panels and doors were wrap mounted and printed G-Floor utilised to showcase an old trading map of what was then called Bishop’s Lynn. All prints were run at 1000dpi to give the highest possible quality and these was even chosen ahead of using the more traditional, and more expensive method of lambda printing.

The biggest challenge was to find a solution for the graphics which would be fitted into cabinets with a controlled environment. The artefacts in these cases were extremely delicate and valuable so we tested several methods before coming up with the final solution using specific inks and materials.

WE WERE APPROACHED BY REALM PROJECTS TO WORK ON A NEW MUSEUM TO BE BASED IN THE OLD GAOL HOUSE, KING’S LYNN. THIS EXCITING PROJECT CAME WITH SOME INTERESTING CHALLENGES.

Printed G-Floor graphic fitted flush with existing carpet tiles and vinyl wrapped, wall mounted panels.

We have around twenty years experience of printing graphics

and signage for installation, and it is this knowledge and expertise that enables us to deliver the quality of service

we have become renowned for across the UK.

/LIGHTING

The large back graphic panel was a direct print to opal acrylic. The front panel was a direct print to laminated MDF board with flame polished white acrylic numbers, which was then illuminated with low voltage LEDs.

/DISPLAYS

This direct print to dibond was carefully recessed into the table top to create a flush, neat finish. The upper, angled print was given a chamfered edge to allow it to sit on the table top without creating a step.

/QUALITY

Museum architects, tradition-ally specify Lambda prints due to their photographic quality. Our 1000dpi, print setting, using the latest 7picolitre drop technology is able to replicate this standard without the added cost.

Flame polish acrylic letters create a 3D effect to this display

/TESTING

These graphics were fitted within cabinets alongside historical exhibits. This required us to carry out tests to ensure the materials and inks were suitable for use with precious artefacts in controlled environments.
