    Our Sixth Form has a long history of achievement. This includesexcellent examination results which have allowed students to goon to top universities and develop very successful careers.

    This is an exciting time for us as for the rst time, this year, we willbe enrolling girls into our Sixth Form. We are pleased to be ableto offer our excellent provision to a wider group of students.

    We recognise that all students will be leaving us to go into ahighly competitive world, so we aim to instil values of resilienceand independence.

    We hope that you will take the opportunity to visit the school, speak to the staff and see if our SixthForm is the right place for you.

    Here at KNBS Sixth Form we are extremely proud of our SixthFormers. It is a great honour to see them grow from children intoadults and prepare for their future.

    Sixth Form is about more than just getting A levels; it is aboutbecoming well-rounded individuals. Here at KNBS we encouragestudents to become organised, disciplined and ready for lifebeyond GCSEs and A levels.

    We believe that success is about a partnership betweenstudents, teachers and parents. The more we all put in, the morewe get out.

    We have high expectations of our students, for example: meeting deadlines, personal appearancethrough our business dress and showing a willingness to participate. In return students will receive highquality teaching, support when they need it and guidance on their future.

    CHOOSING KNBSKNBS Sixth Form is popular and dynamic;many students join us from different schools andwe all work together to prepare our students forlife in the wider world.

    The students are taught by specialist teachers

    in their chosen subjects, from English to Physics,from Spanish to Art, our staff are experienced inteaching Sixth Formers and the opportunities forlearning are boundless.

    KNBS Sixth Form is a good choice: We prideourselves on our small classes, our wide rangeof extra curricular activities, as well as oursupport system with dedicated personal tutors

    and the Sixth Form team.

    We are an academic Sixth Form and oursubject choices are designed to give eachstudent the chance to experience a broad androunded education. We offer a free choice ofa variety of traditional A Levels along with asmall vocational offer eminently suitable for theworld of work or for further education.

    Lower Sixth students follow a number ofA Level courses appropriate to their aptitude.We offer General Studies for all students,as well as Further Mathematics for the mostmathematically able.

    At KNBS Sixth Form we believe that success isdown to commitment, combined with the effortsof our staff who work tirelessly to offer supportto our students through engaging lessons andguided independent study. We expect parentsto play a key part in supporting both the schooland students.

    Independent study, self reliance and a thirst forlearning are the skills we seek to develop in ourstudents and they are encouraged to do theirown reading, make use of study rooms whennot in lesson and embrace all that is on offerto them.

    Our Sixth Form students are role modelsfor younger pupils. They are expected todemonstrate exemplary standards of disciplineand present themselves positively throughwearing business dress. Our expectations setthe tone for learning in an environment wherestudents can develop into well adjusted adults.

    THEIR FUTUREWe place great emphasis on our students nextstep after their A Levels.

    At KNBS we have a tailored Life Skillsprogramme which ensures the students makethe right choices for their future be it in further

    education or if they seek employment: We offer guidance from speakers from a

    wide variety of professions and universities.

    Students receive support from a personal tutorduring weekly tutorials.

    They are given the opportunity to visitUniversity Open Days.

    We guide students step by step through the

    all-important UCAS process. We offer accessible reference materials,

    resources and prospectus details for post-18education or employment.

    We provide support for personal statements and interviews, including thoseapplying to Oxbridge and other RussellGroup universities.

    Encouraging our students to be

    INDEPENDENTWe pride ourselves on our calm and safeenvironment and we always encourage ourstudents to take advantage of ourwell-resourced library, supervised study roomsand well-equipped computer rooms to deepentheir own independent knowledge in awelcoming atmosphere.

    At KNBS Sixth form we strongly believe inencouraging our students leadership skills.Students run their own committees including asocial committee. Furthermore our Head StudentTeam also present assemblies to KS3 and KS4students and represent the school at key socialand school events.

    Opportunities for

    ENRICHMENTParticipation is of great importance at KNBS.We encourage all of our students to make useof the activities and facilities on offer:

    KNBS Sixth Formers are encouraged to takepart in sports: we are famous for it and wehave some of the nest sports grounds inSouth Birmingham!

    Our students volunteer in the local communityand organise charity fund raising events forboth local and national charities.

    Students also have the opportunity to beinvolved in peer mentoring and can chooseto mentor year 7 students in core subjectssuch as English and Maths.

    Students regularly take part in senior skiingtrips as well as other outdoor pursuits.

    KNBS Sixth Formers are encouragedto attend specially devised lectures atBirmingham University, delivered by worldclass scholars, to deepen their understandingof the subjects studies in school.

    Our Sixth Form students take part in manystudy visits organised by different departmentsbe it a Geography or Science eld trip or astay in France for 5 days.
