Important Points and Reason To address the credit needs of resource-poor

farmers. Government of India introduced Kisan Credit Card

(KCC) Scheme in August 1998. With the objective of providing timely and

adequate credit to the farmers in a flexible manner.

Three agencies entrusted to implement the KCC Scheme were commercial banks, cooperative banks and regional rural banks (RRBs).

Contn……… As you all know Indian farmers are small and

marginal farmers. In case of small and marginal farmers Marketed

surplus is greater then marketable surplus. So at the time of crop production farmers will not

have sufficient amount of money required for the production.

To know how this KCC has helped farmers in providing adequate credit.
