8TH GRADE ANNOUNCEMENTS :
Virtual Cheer Tryouts: Bobcat Cheer tryouts are
coming up! All paperwork for tryouts is due May 8.
There will also be a parent meeting that evening at
6:30 pm via Zoom as well. If you did not get a tryout
packet before the school closure and are still interested
in cheering at AHS, please email Trish Sims at

The sixth grade is reading Maniac Magee. In the book, there is a jump rope song.

You can try to make up your own jump rope songs. It can rhyme, but it doesn’t have to. It can tell a story, or just be a silly limerick. Try this rhythm 1.2, 1.2, 1.2.3 1.2, 1.2, 1.2.3 1.2.3, 1.2.3. 1.2, 1.2, 1.2.3 You can make up your own rhythm, too. Then try singing it while jumping rope. - Mrs. Barlow
I miss seeing everyone at Miller! Hope everyone is
doing well, getting out in the sunshine when they
can, and taking care of themselves and the people

Today is May Day
May 1 was the beginning of the season of summer on many ancient calendars and is the traditional celebra-tion of the season of flowers . May Day traditions in England include crowning a May Queen, dancing around a May Pole, and making flower wreaths to wear in your hair. In the US, one tradition is to fill a May Day basket with flowers, hang it on the door knob of a friend or neighbor, knock or ring the doorbell, and run away. Don’t get caught! What can you do to celebrate May Day? Make a May Basket out of recycled
materials and fill it with flowers. Plant flowers. Make a flower wreath
Have a May Day picnic outdoors. Go on a nature walk. How many
different flowers can you name?
