Box 44 * Hilo, Hawaii 96721-0044 Chartered October 19, 1963 SKIP A MEAL East Hawaii Club at Business Services of Hawaii Owner: Member Margaret Pahio Margaret, Kyle, Kazuko, and Del .. Chow time.. On May 26. the club did a Skip a Meal to have updated information on Recycle and recycle products. Members that attended the session were Margaret, John, Kyle, Del, Cecily, JP, Liz, June, Kay, Ken, Harold, Roy and Audrey. Donation were collected from members of $ 10 to be donated to foundation funds. Also at this informative meeting, was a delicious spaghetti lunch prepared by Roy. “OPALA” Recycle Margaret- Informational Talk on the Future of recycle SLP INSTALLS 2009-2010 OFFICERS SLP Officers from all 4 clubs installed Kiwanis Club of East Hawaii installs officers for all 4 clubs, Hilo High Key Club, Hilo Intermediate Builders, Waiakea High Key Club, and Waiakea Intermediate Builders. A luncheon was held at the University of Hilo dining room. President Stu Kearns installed all officers, and other Kiwanians present were Margaret, Tom, Audrey, and advisors Kari, Charlene, Alson, Barbara, Justin, and Jake. The SLP honored the Kiwanians with a recycled bag with added design. Also, due to the importance os the Miso Soup Breakfast and the problems we had with the rice and egg, the group decided we needed to be prepared for the upcoming one in 2010, so they honored the Kiwanians with a dozen eggs and a 5# bag rice. The eggs was used for Audrey’s dessert and the rice was cooked for Roy’s Chili that were all contributions to the Blood Bank Drive held on May 25 th . Several members tried to

“HOLE IN ONE”MONDAY May 25th 2009

Hunter Bishop at our Christmas PartyAccording to the Hawaii Tribune Herald, our member Hunter Bishop aced the par 3. 122 yards 10th hole at the Volcano Golf and Country Club. He used a 5 iron to sink his first hole-in-0ne. It must have been such a great thrill to see the ball sink into that hole.. Dave Smith was his witness. Congratulations to Hunter... Good Job.. is that why we did not see you at project ?

Kiwanians donated food and worked hosting the “Pint for a Pint” blood drive. Contributors to this even were Harold, Cecily, Charlene, Lauren, Margaret, Roy, JP and Liz, Stu and Uyang, Ken, Trexel, Mel A., Mel K., Del, Kay, and Audrey. Nice Job gang, we collected 160 pints.
