Rice Distribution to Orphanage Dt:08-07-2013

KLU NSS have taken part in Collection and distribution of rice to various

orphanages, oldage and shelter homes in and around Vijayawada. For about 700

kilograms of rice was collected from and was distributed. We are very thankful to

the students and the faculty who have contributed to the success of the event.

Clean and Green Dt:12-07-2013

Vaddeswaram

NSS CELL of K L University has Conducted “Clean and Green” Event on 12st

July 2013 in three villages adopted by the K L University. On the day of the event, all

the NSS volunteers of the parent department are divided into 3 groups and started from

the college at 9.00 am in 3 busses and reached the respective places by 9.45 am. After

reaching the respective villages, all the volunteers are again divided into groups by the

faculty in-charges to make the task easier and so as to ensure that the volunteers covered

most of the village premises.

All the volunteers actively took part in this. Some volunteers eagerly sprayed

insect repellents in the drainage canals, some mixed the bleaching powder and some

sprayed the bleached powder. All the volunteers divide the tasks among themselves

without any hesitation and every one lead their way towards the success of the event.

Some volunteers interacted with the villagers and asked them to maintain their

houses premises neat and clean. And volunteers motivated the students in the villages and

got good response from them.

Health Awareness and Check Up Dt:21-07-2013

Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group

of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar),

either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not

respond properly to insulin, or both. Diabetes has become one of the major

ailments majorly due to modern lifestyle and living habits.

Diabetes forces a person to adapt to very restrictive lifestyle where continuous

monitoring is a must. One almost feels like a caged bird. To help improve diabetes

awareness amongst people in general and also spread the word about symptoms

and remedies we the members of Team NSS

have organized a diabetes Awareness Health camp.

Revendrapadu

NSS Cell of K L University has Conducted “Tree plantation” on 3rd August

2017 in Revendrapadu. On the day of the event, all the NSS volunteers and NSS

faculty Incharge started from the college at 9.30 am in bus with plants and reached

the Revendrapadu by 10.00 am.

All the volunteers actively took part in this. The plantation has been done by

the volunteers in 2 different major places and some vacant lands. Some of the

plants are also planted in vacant lands. All the volunteers divide the tasks among

themselves without any hesitation and every one lead their way towards the

success of the event.

Independence Day Dt:15-08-2013

KLU NSS have participated in August 15 Independence Day celebrations

which were held on 15th August, 2015 at New Seminar Hall (C.V. Raman Hall).

Hobby Clubs In-charge Dr. K. Manikyeswara Rao, Mr. U.K Prasad Dance Trainer,

V.G. Krishna Murthy Dramatics Trainer. Organizing the event. Narthana club

students performed patriotic dances, Abhinaya club students preformed patriotic

skits, mono-actions, swara club students sung patriotic songs.

Heart Diseases Prevention Awareness Dt:21-08-2013

Heart Disease Prevention campaign by KLU NSS Cell is established to

spread awareness about the health of heart among common people all through the

world. This initiative was founded in the year 2000 to inform people to take care of

their heart. A huge percentage of common public in the society is suffering from

the heart diseases like stroke, heart attack, heart failure, etc. Heart problems are the

leading causes of death in the world.

It is celebrated annually all over the world on 21th of August. A particular

theme is decided for the each year celebration in order to focus on the main subject

and make it effective. Theme is prepared by keeping in mind the key issues of

heart health. According to the World Heart Federation, at least 80% of the

premature deaths (because of cardiovascular diseases) can be protected by

controlling four main risk factors such as unhealthy diet, tobacco use, lack of

physical activity and use of alcohol.

Eye Camp Dt:04-09-2013

The problem of avoidable blindness rapidly escalating remained a major

cause of concern in the Indian healthcare scenario. Especially in Rural areas the

backward people are unable meet many medical services due to various reasons.

So we are taking a step to provide some facilities and services possible. Working

plan:

A village with a population of two thousand including the surrounding areas

in an accessible radius of 5 Kms is selected for conducting an eye camp. A

convenient venue (such as a large school building in the area) will be selected for

conducting the camp. The village should have good access to the nearby villages to

benefit the patients around the main village at first a primary survey has to be

conducted regarding the needs of the village people and work out further.

NSS Cell of KL University organized Engineers day on the eve of Sir

Mokshagundam Visweswaraiah Birthday on 15/09/2013. In this programme all the

faculty, administrative staff, students participated. KL University President Sri.

Koneru. Satyanaraya garu, Secreary Smt. Koneru. Kanchana Latha garu paid floral

tributes to Sir Mokshagundam Visweswaraiah. Our President inspired all the

Engineers to take Sir Mokshagundam Visweswaraiah as role model.

Everyone have the responsibility to know their blood group because it is

very useful in some part of our life. We the members of KLU NSS Cell taken an

initiation part to collect the data base regarding blood groups of the students and

we successfully had done our duty.

KL University KLU-NSS Cell organised Gandhi Jayanthi birthday

celebrations on 02/10/2013. Mahatma Gandhi, “The Father of the Nation” as a

great political leader and a freedom fighter. His ideas relating to satyagraha based

on truth and non violence, simple lifestyle and development reveal how sustainable

development is possible without doing any harm to nature and our fellow beings.

Career Guidance in Schools Dt: 03-10-2013

Technology can be viewed as an activity that forms or changes culture.

Additionally, technology is the application of math, science, and the arts for the

benefit of life as it is known. Technology advances show people a more efficient

way to do things, and these processes get results.

All the volunteers (Students) of NSS Cell who are interested in the campus

will move to the Govt. and private schools to guide the students about the

variations in past to present technology by presenting them some of the videos and

paper presentations. As a result the students can know about the advancement in

technology along with manufacturing to some extent.

NSS CELL of K L University has Conducted “Sramadanam – Cleanliness

Drive” Event on 19-10-2013 in Revendrapadu.

Some volunteers interacted with the villagers and asked them to maintain

their houses premises neat and clean. All the volunteers actively took part in this.

Some volunteers eagerly mixed the bleaching powder and some sprayed the

bleached powder. All the volunteers divide the tasks among themselves without

any hesitation and every one lead their way towards the success of the event. And

volunteers motivated the students in the villages and got good response from them.

Water Conservation Rally Dt:26-10-2013

Kolanukonda

Water being a scarce resource and a primary one should not get wasted. Lot

of people has shortage of water supply. As a part of this NSS Cell of KLU have

taken an initiative to create awareness in Kolanukonda village by conducting a

Rally and distributing Pamphlets to households. Slogans like “Save Water, Save

Lives” were given by the volunteers.

Awareness of Government Schemes to Villagers

Team of Volunteers of NSS conducted the usage of technology to Dwakra

self help groups in the village of vaddeswaram to maintain their livelihood. The

insights on importance and the trends in the recent days were given to the Dwakra

team.

Empowerment of Women in Villages Dt: 14-11-2013

KL University

KLU NSS has organized an event named “Need of education for Women”.

Until the middle of nineteenth century, girls and women were educated only for

traditional household works. Now, the society is witnessing changes in the role-

status of women. There is greater emphasis on education girls and women in the

same way as we educate boys and men. The main idea of the event is to create

awareness among the women about the need of education in their life. The event

was held on 14/11/2013. Group Discussion was conducted as a part of this.

AIDS Awareness Rally Dt:01-12-2013

Tadepalli

World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is

dedicated to raising awareness of the AIDS pandemic caused by the spread of HIV

infection, and mourning those who have died of the disease. The red ribbon is the

global symbol for solidarity with HIV-positive people and those living with AIDS.

Rally was conducted by the students to provide awareness to the public.

On the eve of International Human Rights Day i.e 10th December, a seminar

was conducted to the faculty on the Human Rights by the experts from the

University. KLU NSS Organized this event.

Peace Rally Dt: 23-12-2013

KL University

In order to maintain peace and saying NO to violence and wars, KLU NSS

Cell have conducted a peace rally to give a strong message to the student’s

fraternity not to involve in violence and encourage it. Establishment of global

peace is the need of the hour is the motto of the rally.

Traffic Awareness Programme Dt: 29-12-2013

Highway

KLU- Transport and NSS cell jointly organized Awareness Programme on

“Road Accidents, usage of Helmets & Seat Belts” on 29th January 2016. There was

a rally conducted on the Highway to spread the awareness.

Empowerment of Women in Villages Dt:24-01-2014

Revendrapadu

NSS Cell organized a Discussion Panel and Empowerment drive for women

in Revendrapadu on 24/01/2014. NSS conducted competitions such as rangoli,

women parliament, signing and dance in the village.

Republic Day Dt:26-01-2014

KL University

KLU NSS Cell participated in conduct of Republic Day Ceremony in KL

University. Flag Hoisting, followed by National Anthem is conducted. Later

Speeches regarding the constitutional rights and history was delivered by the

faculty of the University.

KL University

Human values are lacking in the society where people are now having

empathy towards the system. In this regard, KLU NSS have conducted a drive in

the form of a Seminar to the Students of KLU regarding the ethics and values to be

followed by a citizen as a part of his role in the society.

As the schools are towards the closing date, KLU NSS have conducted a

Career Guidance to 9th and 10th Class students to provide the future prospects of

the students. Their choice of career that they can take up after their 10th Standard

like Intermediate, Polytechnic etc. ZPHS School students are given this

awareness.

Health Camp Dt:14-02-2014

In view of the health issues faced by the villagers in Vaddeswaram, KLU

NSS have planned a health camp for the villagers. Around 170 villagers were

benefited from the event. It was conducted in Panchayat Office. Doctors from NTR

University have come to consult the villagers. Medicies were distributed to the

patients.

Counseling to drop outs Dt:22-02-2014

Vaddeswaram

Lot of children drop out of school each year due to superstitions, financial

constraints and pressures. NSS Cell have identified few drop outs in the villages

and provided counseling about the importance of education in their life. Event

happened on 22th February, 2014.

Skill Development to Dwakra Dt:01-03-2014

Revendrapadu

Team of Volunteers of NSS conducted the usage of techniques to dwakra

self help groups in the village of Revendrapadu to maintain their livelihood. The

insights on importance and the trends in the recent days were given to the dwakra

team. This event took place on 1st March, 2014.

Self Defense Techniques Dt:15-03-2014

KL University

KL University Self defense training was given to girl volunteers of KLU on

15/03/2014. Students from Karate Club of KLU gave demonstration of various

ways to encounter dangers when women are attacked. Girls have participated

enthusiastically in getting trained with a Hands-On experience.

Career Guidance to High School Students

Dt:18-03-2014, Vaddeswaram

As the schools are towards the closing date, KLU NSS have conducted a

Career Guidance to 9th and 10th Class students on 18th March 2014 to provide the

future prospects of the students. Their choice of career that they can take up after
