G-Connect ‘16 the maiden HR Meet organized by the Training & Placement Cell at Bengaluru on 2 September 2016. The event saw a vibrant presence of 47 HR participants from various leading companies. The entire KLS Management was part of the meet that led to productive interaction with the Industry representatives. The Meet was an overwhelming success and many new companies expressed their desire to associate with GIT in the days to come.

The Academic Year 2016-17 witnessed a great lead from the College in making its mark in the industry. GIT hosted an Industry Institute Interaction Meet on 26 August 2016 in which a host of leading industrialists from around Belagavi took part. The meeting was remarkable in its discussions on bridging the gap between industry and academia. Over 50 industrialists actively engaged into analytical interactions in the meet which had a panel discussion. The meet lasted rigourously for three hours.

MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL: In line with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan the Rotaract Club of Gogte Institute

of Technology conceived to paint more the 300+ trees in the campus and beautify the green with

hundreds of participants doing their share.

DAAN UTSAV” :As a pre-event of Exodus’16 LEAD Cell conducted a donation fest in which

groceries, books, clothes, toys etc. were donated in huge numbers by the staff and students. The

collected items were donated to various old age homes, and to the homeless.

“AZAADI- 70”: With a view to instil the values of patriotism in the young hearts, the LEAD Cell and Rotaract

Club of GIT organised an interactive session with the unsung heroes of the freedom movement Mr.

Vithalrao Yalgi, Mr. Baburao Walvekar, Mr. Anandrao Bhendigiri and others These freedom fighters were

also felicitated at KLS GIT for their selfless contribution towards the freedom movement of our country.

“CRACKER FREE DIWALI”- A signature campaign, Selling of locally made Diyas to promote the

concept of “MAKE IN INDIA-BUY IN INDIA”, concept, collecting waste material to build cattle

sheds etc. The activities had huge response from more than 1000+ students and more than Rs

50,000 profit was earned for local vendors for selling Diyas

year 2016-17 for their outstanding service in the field of teaching by Rotaract Club of Belgaum

Department of Architecture conducted a study tour to

Orcha, Khajuraho, Bhopal, Indore and Mandu.

A study tour was organized to places such as Jaisalmer, Jodhpur,

Ranakpur, and Udaipur for the students of Architecture.

Department of Chemistry took 50 students of first semester on a

tour to Garud Allied Technologies, Machhe, Belagavi on 29 Sept. 2016.

Industrial visit to Jai Hind Engineering Pvt. Ltd, Belagavi was

organized for Students of First semester MBA. 59 students

visited the company on 8 October 2016.

Ø Prof. Suryakumar N Khanai received the “Best

Paper Award” for presenting a research paper

titled “A Study on Evolution and Sectoral Analysis of ISO

9001 QMS Certifications” in 4th International

Conference on “Recent Trends in Engineering Science and

Placements

The Placement Cell of KLS GIT has had some unparalleled moments of success in the last six months with as many as 552

placement offers so far for the batch graduating in 2017. Prof. SatishHukkeri, the Training and Placement Officer ‘Employability

Enunciator’ award by rethink India at India International Centre, New Delhi on 18th Oct 2016. Rethink India is an initiative

supported by HRD ministry, Government of India.

As a norm, the Training and Placement Cell organized several training and skill development sessions notably, Programming with

C Language- a 30 hour training conducted by Prof. SatishHukkeri; and a two day workshop on Soft Skills by Mr. ShivKumar,

Genesys Career Analytics, Bengaluru. Further, Indian Air Force along with the Placement Cell conducted a one day Awareness and

Orientation exhibition BUS for all students depicting career opportunities therein.

In addition, there was a grand TCS Day, a half day orientation session for final year students by Mr. Benjin Samuel and Ms. Anjana

of TCS. These and many other programmes hosted by the Cell have proved to help our students to make a mark in their

prospective workplaces.

Our prestigious recruiters include, Microsoft, KPIT, TCS, Brilio, Quest Global, CoreEL, Informatica, Mercedes Benz, INS Zoom,

Mindtree, Trianz, Airtel, Tech Mahindra, Indian Navy and many such.

Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted “Oculus-16” a mega event consisting of various

innovative competitions on robot building, clay modelling, simplex to complex, model

presentations etc. The event had participation of more than 1000 students from the college.

Faculty Development Program on ‘Learning Through Experience’ was organized on 27th July 2016

by Institute of Engineers (India,) Student Chapter(Electrical), Gogte Institute of Technology,

Belgaum by Mr. Balwant K. Patil& Mr. Pramod G. Develatkar. Prof. S. G. Kulkarni,

Prof . P. V. Gopikrishna and Prof. S. B. Halabhavi addressed the gathering.

Intercollegiate Debate on Cyber crime: In view of growing need for safeguarding our E-presence,

the E-rotary club of district 3170 and Rotaract Club of GIT organized a debate which witnessed

overwhelming participation from 24 teams. The competition was organised on 2 October 2016.

The concluding session of LEAD EXODUS’16 – “An Evening of Appreciation”, was conducted on 14th

November at KLS GIT where in more than 500+ students were honored and appreciated with

certificates and prizes for their valuable contribution to events of EXODUS’16

Continue Education Programme was conducted on “Advanced Survey and Total Station (Theory &

Practical), gis, gps & Mapping” in November 2016.
