Knickers (to celebrate Gynaecological Health Awareness) (March 2016)

You will need: 8 ½” square of plain pastel fabric for background

Assorted fabric scraps, lace, etc

Figure templates

1. Select template you wish to use – or design your own. Note – remember to leave a clear 1” around your design to allow for piecing the block into a top later.

2. Fold background square into quarters to find mid-point.3. Trace template onto fabric if embroidering outline, trace template onto fusible web if you want to applique

(choose suitable fabric for the skin to show up on the background) or whatever method you choose to use.4. The torso figure might be the front or back view – whichever you choose.5. Decorate your “figure” or template with whatever scraps, lace, embellishments you want to.

These blocks will be made into a wall hanging for raffling so you do not have to worry about being washable. Let your imagination and sense of humour out for a run and have fun!
