Greetings Ladies and Nobles:Wow are things busy! As the weather gets better, we are enjoying more outside activities. We also have to do our outside maintenance. Many dedicated Nobles, ladies, children, and Veteran's Court personnel, spent most of a Saturday cleaning up Circus Park. The property has not looked this good in years. We cut a few trees in the north horseshoe area to expand parking for our stored vehicles. We will also soon be working on building a small park in

this area for limited camping and motor home parking. Stay tuned. Many, many events have occurred and there was plenty of fun to go around. The Kid's Easter Party was well attended and supported, the First Lady's Tea was very special for the ladies, and the Kentucky Derby was an all out blast for all. My wife even won $35 by betting on my horse. Arab Patrol Raffle was also well attended with fun for all. If you are missing any of these activities, and many more that space doesn't allow to print here, you need to come out and join us and get your batteries recharged. We promised to have a year of fun-fun-fun. To continue that fun, there is a comedy night being planned for early July, Imperial is also in July, and on August 20th, we will be taking a bus load or two of Shrine family members to a Detroit Tigers game to celebrate Shrine Day at the stadium. This trip is supported by all Shrine organizations in Michi-gan so we will be joined by our Shrine brothers from all Shrine organizations. Tickets are available through the Shrine Office. Please support all of these activities that you can. We need to raise a lot of new revenue sources to keep our operations running. Funding is improv-ing slowly and we need to keep the momentum going. In addition, the Finance Committee is working hard to analyze our total financial picture and make recommendations for future success. That report should be available sometime this summer and the plan is to immediately implement necessary changes.

Recorder’s Message Greetings to all my Noble-Masons and Ladies, June is going to be a very busy month; Shrine Fest June 2, 3 and 4, Drivers Safety Seminar 6-3-2017, Paper sale kick-offs on 1st(Circus Park) and 21st (Charlie Fick’s in Grayling), Arab Patrol Steak Fry 6-8-2017, Oasis Steak Fry 6-15-2017, Stated Meeting on 6-14-2017 at Circus Park and Fathers Day on June 18th. Nobles, we have 288 members who have not paid dues for 2017, this amounts to over $24,000.00. SIXTY-

THREE % of these funds are for Temple operations and THIRTY-SEVEN % goes to Imperial Shrine. We did not have a very successful profit from the Circus and we need you Nobles to pay your dues. Dues are due on January 1st each year and it’s now June. PLEASE PAY YOUR 2017 DUES NOW! We need these funds for general operation expenses. Life Members, did you know that the Temple has been paying your Per Capita as a courtesy since you became a Life Member? Imperial Shrine bills Elf Khurafeh Shrine $30.00 Per Capita for each member, each year. Members paying Regular Dues this amount is included in your dues statement. With operation costs continuing to rise, it may be necessary to request all members to pay the yearly Imperial Per Capita Assessment of $30.00.. This courtesy amounted to $10,800.00 in 2017 and over several years could amount to a sub-stantial amount of money which could be used for maintenance and repair of Elf Khurafeh Shrine property. This change would take a vote of the Member-ship at a specially called meeting. $30.00 dollars a year, should we change the by-laws for this? Think about it. Comments to your Recorder are welcome. As of this writing we only have 5 candidates listed for the Spring Cer-emonial, Nobles, we need your help on new Members. The Fall Ceremonial in November could be the time for a lot more candidates, Please help us grow and not die in the wind.

EKT Potentate Robert Swartwood was pied at the Moslem Circus by a Moslem Clown named Sunshine. I heard that Sunshine will pie anyone

on a dare. Chief Rabban John Berry urged Sunshine to do it at the member luncheon. Bob

laughed it off but mumbled something about revenge so John had to watch his back for

the rest of the day.

ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY - NOVEMBER 2-5, 2017

Legion of Honor Greetings Fellow Vets! The Legion of Honor would like to welcome aboard Noble Thom Seymour of the Northern Shrine Club where he serves as secretary. Thom is a welcome addition to our growing club. We would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Commander Emeritus Bob Carroll for his generous donation to our club. We will be purchasing flags and equipment represent-ing all branches of our services, plus a P.O.W. flag for ceremonial services with his donation. Again, thank you Noble Bob. Our uniform selection has been completed and ordering will begin at our next regular meeting which is the first Thursday of each month, Circus Park at 7p. Comm. Greg has been working hard to secure a trailer which our famous Shrine Clown Unit may wish to donate. Us “old school” vets find it hard to stay in step with our younger vets. I also have information on the Washington D.C. trip for the laying of the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier plus tours of the monuments there. This trip is in conjunction with the Zenobia Shrine in Toledo. Also you do not have to be a member of the Legion to attend. If you are interested in going, contact myself, Greg Cartwright or Brian Fox and we will make sure you get the information. Please read the following information.

from 5PM til 9 PM at the Shrine/Pulaski Hall in Saginaw. Tickets available from any member.

EKT GUN SHOWA gun show fund raiser will be held on September 23, 2017 at the Shrine/Pulaski Hall in Sagi-naw. There will be 25 guns plus other sports related prizes given away. Free food and Beverages

will be available as well as 50/50 and deck of cards drawings. Tickets will be available soon.

FENTON SHRINE CLUBJune is a busy month for Fenton Shrine Club members. After the Temple Paper Sale on June 2nd and 3rd we hold our last regular meeting of the spring on June 8th. This is our informal dress, picnic meeting- a fun time for all. Later the Club plans a visitation to the Oasis Shrine Club at their steak fry on the 15th. Bring your lady and enjoy this night of good food and fel-

lowship. Gene Reid has a special perk for all members and forget- me-nots who attend; details will be announced at our regular June meeting. As usual we will be dark during the summer

months resuming regular meetings on September 14th. Best wishes to all for a safe and event-ful summer!


ORIENTAL BANDNobles, the Oriental Band of Elf Khurafeh Temple are attending the Great

Lakes Shrine Oriental Band Association (GLSOBA) from June 1, 2017 thru June 4, 2017. It is being held in Terre Haute, Indiana at the Hilton Gardens Inn.

As usual the Flint Oriental Band will go on Thursday so they can compete in the Friday A.M. Golf Tournament. The musical competition will be on Satur-day and the band has been practicing every Monday night up til then in hopes

of winning the First Place Trophy in our division, Best Director, and Best Genie. Attached is last years picture.

Quickly consider the benefit to alerting your nobles to the fact that they can update their own contact information: 1. Corrected contact information can improve the results of your communications campaigns.2. Improved communications campaigns can impact your temple’s recruitment, retention and restoration attempts. 3.
