Grand Knight’s Message
Brothers! What a wonderful season
we are in. The Council is in full
swing going into the holidays and
we are very excited about the
upcoming new year. Our Chris party
will be fantastic as will our time
with our families. Now is the time
though for us to take stock in who
we are and what we represent as
Knights of Columbus. I know that
we are all here for a reason. What is
yours??
This upcoming year we will
celebrate our 25th year as a Council
with a gala. This celebrates a
beginning as we all began our own
journey within the Knights. I was at
a degree and was reminded of this
phrase "each of you, a strong thread
in the cable of Columbianism, must
give of himself for our order to
survive. Ask yourself - what am I
giving of myself?
Vivat Jesus!

Chaplain’s Message
No liturgical season so prominently calls the Church to
prepare for the Lord’s coming as the great season of
Advent. Even though Advent is the shortest of the
liturgical seasons, it has a profoundly important and
unified message: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord.’ This
season is a perfect beginning for the rest of the Church’s
year. As all liturgical seasons express various aspects of
the Paschal Mystery, this begins first with the preparation
for the arrival of our Incarnate Lord, the foundation of
Jesus’ relationship with mankind. Even the liturgical
colors worn by the clergy during the season evoke a certain
kind of great hope and expectation. The wearing of a royal
purple calls to mind its traditional meanings of
expectation, penance, and hopefulness, but also waves the
regal banner before us. We are in expectation of that Great
King, at whose very name His enemies flee in terror and
the heavenly hosts sing forever in a majestic hymn.
It is good for us to recall how the whole World first
encountered our King of Kings—as an infant: small,
defenseless, seemingly insignificant, and vulnerable. As
Christians, we know ‘the rest of the story’ and how Christ
would in fact change the world forever—finally through
the most humble and vulnerable act of death on a Cross.
As Christian men, we have the vocation to follow in the
line of our venerable patron, St. Joseph and protect,
defend, and love our Blessed Lord Jesus. This Advent and
Christmas, Christ will be present, and as always, He will
be humble. Jesus will not make himself the center of
attention in our own Christmas of the celebrations of our
households, even if it is named after Him! Just as St.
Joseph sought out a place for the Christ Child and his
spouse Mary on Christmas night, so too we will have to
work to carve out a time and place for Jesus to be our God
and King at this busiest of times.
St. Joseph the Worker, Pray for us!

Our Guarantees Set Us Apart
Knights of Columbus life insurance offers something precious few other financial products can – guarantees. As long as you pay your premiums, the policy proceeds will be there for your beneficiaries should something happen to you. That’s peace of mind, and that’s what we offer with every product in our portfolio.
We guarantee the cash value in your whole life policies will be there. We guarantee the rates on your term insurance. We guarantee the rate and your principal in our retirement annuities. On top of those product guarantees, I guarantee that I will offer professional, high-quality service that you would expect from our organization.
Our Order is among the highest rated life insurers in North America. AM Best has rated the Knights of Columbus “A++, Superior” for 40 consecutive years. It’s a testament to our track record for excellence and security.
I would suggest that a principal reason that we were able to achieve those accolades is because we remain steadfastly committed to the vision of Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney by providing life insurance by brother Knights for brother Knights.
That commitment is an essential core value of the Knights of Columbus, and our core values permeate all levels of our organization. We pledge to serve our brother Knights, and their families, according to our Golden Rule: “In all my professional relationships, I pledge myself to the following rule of conduct: I shall, in light of all conditions surrounding those I serve, render that service which, under the same circumstances, I would apply to myself.”
Let’s talk soon to discuss how our products can bring that peace of mind to you and your family.
Fraternally,
Dennis Tobash (484) 357-2539 [email protected]
