GRAND KNIGHT’S NOTES By Matt Coleman, Grand Knight Brother Knights, Some high temperatures of summer just in time for the peak of July summer! Thank you to all for your support and fraternity through the month of June: New Parishioner Welcome event, Totus Tuus support and the Feast of the Sacred Heart. As the onset of the new fraternal year, we will look again toward membership - please don't hesitate to reach out if you are interested in joining or if you know someone with interest - and we'll plan a first degree in August. We will have a regular meeting schedule for July and look to get back into the swing of things this month, and as we do so, continue to enjoy a blessed summer. ! . -Vivat Jesus

SUMMER MEETING SCHEDULE UPDATE There will be officers’ meetings on July 8 and on August 12. The next council meeting will be July 22 and there will be no council meeting in August. The regular meeting schedule will resume in September. Note that the officers’ meeting night has changed to the second MONDAY of the month, effective in July. SACRED HEART PARISH FESTIVAL The Knights did the grilling for the potluck meal on June 28th as the parish celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart. Thanks to Rolland for setting up the large grill and to all who helped with the grilling and cleanup afterward. BACK TO SCHOOL BLOCK PARTY The Emporia Back-to School block party is scheduled for Monday, August 19. This event includes festivities and promotions along Commercial Street for returning ESU and Flint Hills students. The Knights participate by grilling and distributing hot dogs for the students. It is a fine chance for the Knights to make an appearance and to give back to the community. Please plan to participate.
