  • 1. KNOW YOUR COMPETITON:The Many Faces of Storage Buyers

2. Storage auctions usually attract varied crowds, especially with their recent climb in popularity but most large auctions will always have the regulars.Use this guide to pin point your competition, and hopefully gain a better understanding of their bidding styles compared to yours! 3. The Looky-Loo A person who goes to an auction purely to spectate, with nointentions of bidding. Looky-loos can be frustrating to both theauction goers and the auctioneer, as they crowd the space and make it harder for potential bidders to see the units. 4. The New BloodA newbie; a person who is newto bidding. Dont underestimate the new blood just yet, they can be just as fierce as theseasoned pros as theyre tryingto prove their worth amongstthe other bidders and carve out a place in the business. 5. The HobbyistA casual attendee who usually keeps their bids low andunless they see something specific, such as collectibles, comic books, memorabilia, etc. Storage auctions are probably not their main source of income. 6. The Store OwnerThis bidder is looking for inventory and will usually outbid anyone to get what they like. They have a reliable method of resale and are looking for profit.Dont mess around with thisbiddertheir time is money! 7. The Whale A seasoned buyer who attends the same auctions veryfrequently. Youll probably pin point the whale very quickly, andmany people may be talking about them. They are usually tough to outbid if they have their sights set on a unit, and most likelyhave a lot of cash to burn! 8. After you have been to enough auctions, youwill be able to pick these characters out of thecrowd.Use this knowledge to your advantagekeepyou friends close, and your competitioncloser! 9.
