INSPIRE Conference 2012Istanbul Congress Centre

Current state-of-play of access and use of INSPIRE Data and Services
• Complex technical landscape – limited technical interoperability
• Highly complex mix of licensing terms for use and re-use – no real business interoperability
• Complex and conflicted legal landscape – confusion of legal aspects
• No real guidance on what member states should do
• Fundamentally unusable and economically unsustainable
• It’s a chaotic nightmare for all concerned. 2
